  • Years ago, I had given up on the idea of adding the P30L to my collection because the only value I found in the pistol is the fact it was John Wick's personal gun from the first movie, but it didn't look right without the compensator profile.
One day, I came across the Wicked Compensator and immediately decided I needed it. I bought the P30L, threaded barrel, and compensator separately and added them together. Once I had them together, I noticed something very strange.
My POI was unusual. At 15 yards it was shooting several inches high and at 50 yards it was shooting feet high. I reached out to the person who manufactured the Wicked Compensator and we're in the middle of fixing the issue. For right now, here are my initial impressions.

I have had the SAME nightmare trying to tune this setup. I have resorted to manufacturing my own recoil spring because I felt his was too light. I’m also adding adjustable sights to account for the windage. When I first installed it was hitting high right.

Hey, I'm having issues getting the factory spring to cycle with 115 and 150 as well and I don't like his spring for the exact same reason of it being way too light. Any chance if you figure out a good spring if I can get one too?

Everyone pictures bullets moving in a straight line which they often dont ..

I wonder if since the recoil spring is struggling. If maybe it’s in battery. But not locking up well. Or unlocking too soon so the barrel is tilting before the bullet leaves the barrel.

The gun has very weak ejection pattern due to the compensator adding weight and the hot gases pushing the barrel back down delaying the unlocking process. I don't know what would happen with the standard weight spring. Probably not be able to eject at all.

How much are you willing to sell the compensator for? If you are willing to sell it…

Go onto Google and search Wicked Compensator and you can grab one brand new. Get it soon because he's down to his last 50.

When the pistol extracts the casings, it does not eject them with force, I think you should change the spring of the recoil rod... the barrel of that pistol has the same system as the SIG and the Glock, the barrel must be tilted to allow reloading of the next round, a very minimal deviation imperceptible to the eye can cause a bad position of the barrel, due to that spring, the gun may not be out of battery but I would change that spring

That spring came with the compensator because it was anticipated that 115 grain range ammo wouldn't have enough power to cycle the slide. I decided to switch back to the original spring and will try again with heavier ammo, but for right now, I'm debating if I'm going to buy another barrel. The guy who made the compensator told me the barrel is what is causing the POI shift.

The problem I was having was the gun was NOT going back into battery completely. It 1,000% changed the point of impact.

I reached out to the guy who manufactured it and he said my issue was the barrel. You're the only other person who has given any feedback about this compensator.

@@SunsetCarries I used the Hk barrel. I even sent it back for him to test and he said he tested every combination and concluded the barrel was the culprit. I don't know if I should buy another barrel and find out.

I’m sure it’s NOT the barrel. It holds a consistent grouping, BUT the grouping shifts. I believe it’s because the recoil spring was too light and was inconsistent in putting the barrel/slide back into battery so you may have noticed 2 or more groupings when aiming at the same point of impact. Problem is, if the recoil spring gets too strong, the gun no longer cycles consistently (stove pipes, malfunctions, etc). I’ve been working on a recoil spring and hammer spring combo that is consistent with 124 grain.

I have the exact set up for about a year now. I had issues at the beginning not going into battery but I would really lube it up and that took care of it, but after about 500 rds I have had hardly any issues and mine shoots straight from the get go.
