Hey man, I think you’re one of the only disc golf channels on UA-cam that are actually talking the talk and walking the walk. Respect. Keep it up, it’s inspiring. And lends you a lot of credibility.
Some take aways from this from my watching both these rounds. Round 1 you were absolutely on fire and were making everything practically. High positive energy and great attitude. In round 2 starting with the ace was awesome, but it seems to me that after an ace, there is always a hole or 2 of letdown that follows. It almost seems impossible to miss that many 20 to 30 ft putts low like that. I know a couple were off the band, but the others were all right into the cage. I think maybe there was some unseen pressure of sharing the lead card with a touring MPO player. I know you have played casual rounds with Thomas Gilbert, but being on lead card with Joel is another step up in nerves and difficulty. Also, I love your channel and content, so I am saying this because I want to see the best out of you and also wish the best for you. Please up your gamesmanship on being a good card mate. Please don't hang your head and crouch and lay down just because you are having a bad round (My teenage daughter does that). Also, please stop walking away so much during clean-up putts. Always stop when they are taking their stroke. I know for tap-ins lots of people keep walking, but some of those were long enough where most people would have stopped and started walking again after the putt. Also have fun with the card, even when you are not playing your best. Best of luck to you as you continue your journey!
Never thought I would say that an ace would be the worst thing that could happen to you on hole one. Great learning experience, though that was brutal to watch. That is the difference between the winners and others; how to handle not only pressure, but the andrenaline of both bad AND good shots. Great job! Now you KNOW you can compete with the best!
When I first discovered your channel, I was skeptical (so many UA-cam/influencer dg accounts). The time and practice you put into your form, disc selection, and strategy have been awesome to watch. It feels like I am right there with you on this journey. Thank you!
Okay I had to pause the video after that ace. My heart rate went up as well haha. What an amazing feeling! So happy we got to see your first tournament ace. Let's goooo!
Dood!!! First hole ACE! So incredible! I was watching Beaver State Fling FPO on DGN , and saw Jennifer Allen ace the first throw of Final day, and then saw you aced your first shot of the day. Man, what a great day of disc golf! Congrats man on the great showing, and being able to reasonably assess your game, for future adjustments. It's always a process. This is coming from someone who is newer to DG than you, but not even close to your ability yet. I am not putting the time in that you are, so I don't expect to be there, but am a bit envious of your ability to asses your game. I'm not there yet, but always learning. Speaking of aces... you've been a big influence in me being junked on disc golf. Found you pretty early on, back when you were first posting about getting reviews from overthrow, throwing through your net in FL, figuring out form. Your energy is infectious and has helped keep me in the game. Your break downs of all the things, form, discs, courses, has been super handy for understanding the game better. I discovered DG Spin Doctor through you, and have really seen improvements, digesting his advice. Anyways, I got my first ace ever, just last week at the lil 9 hole schoolyard course at the end of my street. My partner and I had played the 9 holes, and decided to play hole #2 again, since it is on the walk back home. It was right at dusk, 217 feet. Threw a Sarah Hokom Crave LHBH, on a slight hyzer. It flipped up to flat which I was trying to do, but is a relatively new thing for me. I could see it against a small gap of sky, between some trees. It was so dusky out, the white rim kind of disappeared against the sky, right as it started to dump right (LHBH). I saw the white rim flash in front of the dark trees as it dropped, going right at the basket. Then, SSSCHHHAAAANNNGGG!!! I was stunned at first, my brain breaking for a few seconds on processing what had happened. We could not see for sure, that it went in, but it sure sounded like it! Ran down there and it was indeed in the basket. :-o You going to perchance be at Ledgestone? Idlewild?
Anthony, I did something pretty similar this weekend myself with putting. I had two separate two round same tournaments this weekend. On Saturday I ended round one tied in the lead. I stayed focused second round and played the course, not the other players. I was watching the leader board but just played my game. My putting was on and it was good. I took down first. Then Sunday, round one, nerves are calm. I stayed focused and played my game. Finished the round tied for second two strokes off the lead. Now not only was I getting extremely tired at this point, I was thinking about what every shot meant to my position. This is where my putting fell apart. I had zero confidence. I even missed and 8 foot tap in. Ended in solo fourth. Oh well, I learned a lot and I’m excited to get back out there. These were both C-tier in which I was playing MA1. All in all I’m happy but in the time the frustration was real.
That adrenaline dump right on hole one is the best and worst thing ever to happen on hole 1. You're the man!! Already playing beside the likes of Joel ! He's a legend. Not going to lie I died laughing when you missed for the 7th time low putt.. god I saw my self inside you in that moment and all I could do is laugh lol ... Good for you boss ! Lol
Awesome shot on 1! I've tried to watch your channel a few times over the past months and I feel like I am getting information overload. My guess is because there are no breaks between sentences. Your channel has done very well so far so who am I to say its a bad thing. Keep up the good work!
Great vid and great experience at that tournament! Thanks for the content....I hope to see you compete at IDGC at some point. Keep it going and I have no doubt you'll continue to improve, continue to learn, and continue to put out great experiences to share with us here.
Soon enough you're going to win one of these, and I'm going to be saying "I told you so." Your skills are better than you know. Mental game will come. And great ace!
YO! bought the Izzo bag from discology with your discount code! love the bag, its a little big for me but it holds literally everything I need. Thanks for the video and love the content!
Just a couple things that could help for future tournaments: 1. Don't let negative thoughts or words come out of your mouth and don't let your body language show negativity, you're guaranteeing a bad head space for the rest of the round 2. When putting, focus on shoving the putter into the chains and really commit every time. Envision it going in before you even step up. 3. Engage with the card, have fun with them and play to compete back and forth with them It's coming along man good luck!
Super interesting watching you wear your emotions on your sleeve during the round (the sitting down, eye rubbing, hat removing…). Do you think this helps you process in real time? I know a lot of people preach stoicism while on the green, but that can also lead to a tumultuous inner dialogue-and sports is about emotion after all. Just curious!
Aces giveth and taketh away. Overall great tournament! As far as putting, practice in the dark with a light on the basket. Blind folded doesn't work. You have to let your body "aim." Sounds crazy, but I promise it's 1000 rated good
Still great tournament.. a first tournament ace, to do it on the lead card in your first hole. With 2 legends of the sport watching, it's probably not good for your round in total. But atleast you have that experience now. There will be other podiums for you 🔥
I have a couple thoughts after watching this round. (Ok, maybe 4). But for today will stick to congrats b/c the ace is better than 3rd place i.m.o. way to go man
Bummer result! but nice ace! I wonder hiw more level and in your game you might have played without getting the ace! I know that would mess me up huge but that is where the mental side has to kick in! Great job anyway!
Hey man, I think you’re one of the only disc golf channels on UA-cam that are actually talking the talk and walking the walk. Respect. Keep it up, it’s inspiring. And lends you a lot of credibility.
Man, hole 1 brought a smile to my face! Super pumped!

FIRST haha I've been refreshing your page waiting for this once I saw that ACE on live score LETS GO
Good stuff dude. Not just the ace (obviously that was nasty) but being able to critique and be honest with yourself. Awesome video.
Wow I can't even imagine how that ace felt, let's go dude. What a shot! 🔥🔥

DUDE what an ace!!! I haven't smiled this hard in quite a while!!
Thank you for sharing your experience with putting woes, and congrats on the ace!
YES! What a great start to a video!
This is awesome! you are so going to get there and to start with an ace! Perfection! Let's gooooo!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME! What an awesome ace man!!! That was insane
What an experience! All you needed was a couple putts. 10-100 putts a day will take care of that. Can’t wait for the next one. Thanks for sharing.
When I first discovered your channel, I was skeptical (so many UA-cam/influencer dg accounts). The time and practice you put into your form, disc selection, and strategy have been awesome to watch. It feels like I am right there with you on this journey. Thank you!

It felt like I was really there for the ace! I got so hyped 😂 Stoked for you Anthony!
Tough day on the putting green. That shot on hole one, so awesome bro.
Excited to see you playing my neck of the woods June 17th! I hope to meet ya and get a signature on one of your disc!

So sick
Yesterday was an ace factory!🔥
Having an ace disc with a Joel Freemen signature for a witness?! SICK!
I’ve done the hole 1 ace on lead card, quite exciting. Also a little deflating because it was my first tournament ace and I wasn’t in the ace pot 😂
YO! bought the Izzo bag from discology with your discount code! love the bag, its a little big for me but it holds literally everything I need. Thanks for the video and love the content!
After watching this, tune in to final round FPO beaver state fling when it comes out on Jomez. Déjà-vu!
Just a couple things that could help for future tournaments:

what an emotional roller coaster
that was so sick lol

Still a Win for you...Lead Card...Ace....and Experience.
Get out bro!!! Gotta be the best anyone could do. Nice work my friend
Congrats on the Ace! Sorry about the rest of the round, but you held on bud.
Wait, you and Jen Allen on the same day? incredible
It’s the hissy fits for me😂
Inspiring content to practice the putt.
wear the frisbee club shirt (handshake emoji)

Bummer result! but nice ace! I wonder hiw more level and in your game you might have played without getting the ace! I know that would mess me up huge but that is where the mental side has to kick in! Great job anyway!
Can it get better than the start 😯
No way you just shot that good of a round yesterday and then just aced one the next day bruhh
I will add that their is nothing that mentions shoes in the pdga dress code, so take them off next time
I love how you snubbed Joel Freeman's handshake after you aced hahaha
Yeah the putting hurt my eyes
