  • This video is part of the 1988 Jeep Wrangler Restoration / Resto-Mod project and is part 1 in the Body Mount series. In this video I take an initial stab at getting the body mount bolts removed so that the body can eventually be removed for paint. I identify the locations of the mounts and what bolts will be needed to replace the OEM ones as well as identify a few tricks and hurdles that I will likely be facing in the coming videos.
This will be an ongoing project that will take place as time and budget allows so I will document this journey along the way with additional mini-project specific videos.
The punch list of things that I hope to be able to do are:
    - frame off repaint, back to factory original Khaki color
    - engine removal (4.2 i6) and rebuild
    - front grill repair / replace
    - front bumper repair / replace
    - rear bumper - removing all of the hitch receiver junk
    - interior removal for cleaning / repair / replacement as necessary
    - hard top restoration (I think the top I have came off of a CJ)
    - source some original metal half- doors
    - replace all of the lighting - headlights / tail lights / marker lights
    - add a retro-air A/C unit
    - rear Dana 35 and front Dana 30 Axle replacement - hopefully with Dana 44s
    - replace fuel tank / fuel pump / lines as necessary
    - strip and repaint the frame
    - anything else the wife will let me get away with
