What made this part so intense for me is that up until this point no enemies actually were dismembered, so to get that prompt and then removing the general's head was so hype.
If you use that lightning strike move it can cut off their arm sometimes, I think.

I was so emotionally invested in the story that the moment I unlocked Ghost stance, I was hyped like I was really in the battle too. I was talking so much shit during that quest lol

Bro facts. I had so much adrenaline rushing through my body I just kept screaming and slashing everyone up.
I went nuts with this one. I emptied my arrows, shot incendiary arrows, threw bombs, made a few Mongols fight their own with the hallucination poison, shot the fleeing enemies at the distance with the explosive arrows, threw kunais, threw a smoke bomb and did chain assassinations. I didn't even sneak when I had to go up the hill to destroy the siege weapons. I wanted to show them that Jin is more than a human. I wanted to let them know that he's the Ghost of Tsushima.
For a fictional character, he made me feel like I was the boss. And I loved that.

Not many games give that sense of your enemies fearing you. Best I can think of is in the Batman Arkham games the thugs will start to panic and get visibly terrified the more you take them out stealthily

Can we just appreciate that the Ghost Stance is literally one of the most badass things in gaming? You get three easy kills on your enemies because they're too terrified of you to move.
With the Charm of Ghostly Fury, you can kill four guys; your Ghost Meter also drops by one upon taking damage instead of resetting completely.

A cool thing to think about is that the mongol invasion in real life was stopped when a storm destroyed their fleet, and when you activate Ghost stance you can hear thunder. Jin is the human manifestation of that storm.
There is book called "In little need of a divine wing" that explains how the japanese were able to repel the mongol invasion, twice

For me when this happened, my reaction was so mixed. I felt the anger and hatred, I wanted to kill the enemies, but at the same time I saw Jin turning into a monster, and kept thinking about what his uncle would think of his actions. I have never played a game that made me feel such strong inner conflict.
I played honourable whenever I could on my 2nd play through unless I accidentally assassinated or was forced to break code

i really started to hate his uncle after we first rescued him. War changes and the fact that your entire clans were murdered and you were captured and started this whole mess is because you refuse to see how you must change with the world in order to survive. Jin did more positive actions in the first act of the game that he should have been the leader by default after the beach lol.

It actually astounds me how people are already at that mission and have so little health and resolve like what do you even side mission.
I know right? I enjoyed the side missions so much that I did them first before I did the main missions.
@Willie Brazell same. My step dad is playing just like this. Not doing any side missions or or exploration. Just mythic quests and the main story
Ngl.. I was one of those people I finished the campaign on the hardest difficulty with no inari charms except for 2 no health except for the amount I got from leveling up my legend and only had some resolve from the occasional bamboo strike

Decapitating the general had to be the most satisfying kill in the game for me and it literally shocked me more than anything. I wasn’t expecting this. This entire mission was my favorite of the series.
This is symbolic to how in the era of the samurai live and die in the battlefield.
Generals are not like modern-day generals who just sit lazily on their chairs while their men do the fighting.
Samurai Generals are the opposite of that. They're the most acknowledged and skilled swordsman in a clan.
Other samurais gather around and follow the general who is leading his troops to combat - effectively boosting morale.
Getting a general killed in combat is like losing a queen in chess.
And in turn, will break their morale.

Well said. although i know how modern general are just sit and order soldier behind office but just like u know old times general are like queen or king piece once it fall all soldier moral could fall too (well there's some story where the general fall all soldier going berserk mode tho) so in some case that way of the commander going trough frontlines and dive to danger was sometimes least effective and risky just like when the mongol general died all soldier run off

Fun Fact: I was watching a video of a Developer and they said that whenever there's thunder/lightning that's what they call a "Ghost mission/level/story" which is basically Jin getting closer to becoming "The Ghost." They worded this a lot better than I did.

Badassery was never one of those things that brought tears to my eyes. This was a first. This was so insanely, beautifully badass that I was moved af, that's not an effect I ever expected to have.
No bs, but when I did reach the Yarikawa mission and unlocked that Ghost Stance I was excited and 'terrified' at the same time. Goosebumps all over. The fact that this stance wasn't even mentioned in the "Techniques" menu, no hints whatsoever, was pure genius. I genuinely felt floored and in-shock when that screen turned black/white! Haha

The end of FFVIIR was a better "oh shit" moment for me, but Siege of Yarikawa was almost as epic. I was literally shaking and crying after the battle and Jin's speach

I think we can all agree that Jin using the Ghost Stance is a *TRUE* Gamer moment.
I love how Cory's the only one who had Kensei's headband. Seems like he went with the Mythic Tale, dyed it red, and upgraded it to level 2 for that E3 Demo feel.
He also has the Dance of Wrath too! It's rare for me to see players using it since most of them go straight into the story.
I did all the side stuff before I played the story, I got the dance of wrath before entering the second act

@@anklesturnt2dust691 You can only get Heavenly Strike and the longbow with explosive arrows (The Curse of Uchitsune) in Act I. Dance of Wrath is in Act II, and Undying Flame is in Act III.
I suggest getting these first before doing any tales in whatever act you're in tho. Same goes to the blowgun you can get from Yuriko (Act II when you go back home to retrieve Kazumasa's armor [Ghosts of the Past] alongside her own tales).

I love that everyone loved this shit as much as I did.
I think it was so emotional for me was because before unlocking, Jin went through the whole series of encounters in this chapter, and the emotional burden he was carrying for his people. It was like a moment of salvation, of affirmation of his belief and journey, more so than it being just unlocking a new cool stance. My tears just welled up there and then.

I got so hyped in this moment. I was invested at this point, and Ghost stance was the icing on the cake. “For Yarikawa!!” will always get me so hyped

I don’t know why, but when I played this the scene played out perfectly for me. It all culminated to a perfect moment where I had Jin leading the charge over the bridge screaming “for yarikawa!” As him and the rest of the village chased down the mongol forces. It was so good.

Fight of yarikawa has to be one of my favorite missions if not my favorite. Chills every single time. This game is so perfect imo and i'm so glad I experienced it to its fullest.

I wish I did a Let's Play and recorded my reaction while playing this game. When I got to this point, my jaw dropped when he slashed the General's head off and the music started to play. God, I had the biggest smile on my face. I can't remember the last time a game made me do that.
I loved watching everyone's reaction too. Ghost of Tsushima is such a gem of a game. I am so glad I pre-ordered it.

I wouldn’t consider the ghost stance a “secret” stance
Yeah, it's not a secret since you'll eventually unlock it.
But if u played the game blind and finally unlocked it, you'll have that moment revelation for a second and its fkin great
I consider it a secret stance because even before you have them you see the other stances, this one you can't.
What made this moment so special for me was I wanted to savor the game so at this point I pretty much completed most of the side quests and built up so much legends that it felt so powerful that I can finally let the enemies feel what it's like to face the Ghost.

1. The Last of Us isn’t a game that’s supposed to be fun, it’s a simulation.

The story did not work. Problem was that it tried to preach but it did not get it across well. A revenge plot where you need to stop the cycle, problem is that you don’t get to choose, you just sort of watched it. It works better as a movie than a game. Ellie kills a whole lot of people with little to no remorse all the way until she suddenly stops and saves Abby before fighting her then letting her live. The story did not work. I can get the same feeling from watching a youtube movie of the game. The gameplay was great though. The gameplay was great, the story was meh.
In Ghost of Tsushima, you get to have a choice. You played in the shoes of Jin. You kill and kill but all of kills were criminals, murderers and conquerors. Most importantly you get to have a choice at the end.
When I got to the part to destroy the seige weapons I was like "They wanna see the Ghost, I'll show them the Ghost" so I put on all the clan Sakai armor and killed everyone then got to this part and I'm so glad I did that cus it made this scene 10× better man
Lucky I didn't watch any walkthrough for this game, when I got to this point, I nearly cried like a little boy because of how epic this moment was.
One of the coolest things I love about ghost of Tsushima is whenever I see a dead partner on the battlefield I bow and he says some kind of grace or prayer. I recently found out when you go to camera mode you can set the came position in certain angles and like, save the camera there and move a certain way and set up more camera shots and you can press play and the cameras you set up will play in sequence and it could be really, really cool. I always go to camera mode and I usually never do in other games but it’s just so intoxicating.
I heard of the Ghost Stance beforehand but thought it was something that would show up in the techniques section.
I did not expect this introduction to be so badass. Jin did not feel like a regular man but an imortal samurai.

This moment was extraordinary. Transcendental even. This scene and the battle with kuze in the sewers in Yakuza 0 made feel indescribable goosebumps.

I recently acquired in single player, the stolen khan armor meant for The khan. When I went to legends, I see that I have that as armor I can choose for certain classes on with a few other amors from the single play. Love this game!
