The hip-hop DJ 'producer' who uses only machines - ruined live instrumentation! DJ's cannot make basslines or horns, which is why they are not in present 'music.' Get rid of them and bring back musicians, then you will get it!
Song came out when I was 17 in Highschool. I had the Biggest crush on him. Now I'm 57. Watched him singing in their induction into the Hall of Fame. I still felt like a teenager. He looks and sounds great. I would still " Get Down On It"😂❤ Can't believe that he's 71. He still looks and sounds so good. He can pass for being in his 40s or early 50's
The voice of James Taylor is unforgettable. He has been the true voice of the band's music. Kool and the gang's music and his voice are one thing. Beautiful musical voice.
He gave them an xtra spark like playmaker made them more successful when he came along they were already good with the Funky styles,JT came along added more from this to Peacemaker blended with everything the Gang did in musical genre makes him and them one of the Great Acts in Pop/Rock history.Hes never listed or mentioned in the greatest list category for Singers mainly Rockers
I love it when a band performs the song in a way that honors the recording instead of sounding like a cover band playing their song. The saxophone solo and the short guitar solo are just note for note.
they almost stole the show I seen them in Buffalo Ny with the Mighty VH It was dave Roths idea to have they open what a great decision It was awsome everybody was groovin to the Gang and Then came the mighty Halen WHAT A SHOW i Have been a lifelong VH deciple since i was 13 in 1979 but I always loved kool and the Gang those 80s were the best . Nobody was sitting down from Gang to the end of the show with VH i have video of the whole show
@@leslielee2454In Tulsa, OK 🇺🇸 David Lee Roth decided the huge sold out indoor stadium, in the middle of summer didn’t need air conditioning & had it shut off after Kools performance. He said it “hurt his vocal chords” such a laugh because he couldn’t sing anymore. Wolfie VH displaced Michael Anthony on bass/vocals & the show was a disaster. We never cooled down afterwards sweating our butts off dancing; & left early. I did see Van Halen on their 1st US tour in ‘78 opening for Ozzy/Sabbath.

Gosh I miss the 80's and 90's.....they just don't make groups like this anymore. From the latest newcomers...Silk Sonic is the one that comes to mind with a true soulful band vibe. That is hard to find. Kool and the Gang is timeless and I so wish JT would perform with again.
I bought this album back when it first came out. I still have it somewhere in my mom's closet. This whole album was hot. JT when joined Kool and The Gang took it to a whole new level. His voice is so smooth and recognizable. What a classic.
Te amo sobre todas las cosas Kool and the gang 🎺🎸🎧🎶🎶
Great music!!! Great memories!!! Kool and The Gang is still one of my favorite groups. Their music will be enjoyed for future generations to come. 😊 🎶 🎵
This song came out the week I was left with a sink of dirty dishes, and no where to sit and watch the space where the TV was. But I still have the Revere Ware pots!!!!
This band is absolutely the BEST OF YHE BEST. J.TAYLOR.WHAT A FANTASTIC VOICE. I HAVE SO MAMY GOOD WORDS FOR THEM,ITS TOO MUCH TO YEXT. I LOVE THIS GROUP. LIVE THE SAX,ETC. J.T U R THE BEST EVER EVER. THERE SHOULD BE MORE MUSIC LIKE THIS. LOVE U ALL. MISS YOUR MUSIC SO VERY MUCH.
So smooth and his voice always seems so effortless. I'll be surprised if the kids don't have great voices as his wife is Starleana Young from Slave and Aurra
Kool and the gang album by the same kool and the gang (1970) and album called open sesame (1976), didn’t have any lead singers but they were jamming to great beats including the famous summer madness song (1976) …. I took a deep dive one day and realized they had more in the bag than just the albums in the late 1970s and early hits of 1980s
You know you’re a legend when your live voice sounds the same as the record.
Yes Indeed!🥰
When the whole band sounds the same as the record!
Meine Jugend die 80er Jahre. Tolle Zeit. Grüße aus Berlin Zehlendorf
Absolutely, and without need of autotune software in studio ;).
Indeed! Whitney, Luther, Lionel, Patti, Chaka, Regina, Anita, Billy Ocean, Aretha, Tina, TP, and the list goes on! One marker is that they are ALL OS!
The world needs more saxophone solos
Ronald Bell/on Sax... Robert' Kool' Bell's brother.

You need to go and listen to the original singer, when they performed Jungle Boogie, and more of their original songs. Check it out!😊🎉😂❤
@@ayndowney9401 I know, Kool and the Gang's members have been and are all great musicians
He’s so good. Absolutely flawless, with an awesome vibe too
Paradise in earth, he IS an Angel
@@ayndowney9401 Before 1979, Kool & The Gang was a pure band, but during JT's era, it was more identified to a singer and a band.
There was no Kool and the gang without JT ... period ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This guys a smooth singer
Damn! Live performance that sounds this incredible is insane!
And this guy seems to not using autotune at all...
😅Man! That song just brings me back to the good ole days. Awesome tune!
Pure talent!
No technological enhancements!!!
That is what is called a song. Not so much left of these.
James Taylor of Kool and the gang vocals were out of this 🌎 world...
Kool and the gang dropped a truth classic here and James jt Taylor brought the goods vocally
