    You’ll never believe what happened. I got good at screaming and using Vocal Fry and I showed it to my Choir director thinking I would get a laugh, but instead she was like “Wow! That sounds like architects” And I was like “No way! You like architects?” And we had the best ever conversation about Metalcore/Deathcore. To this day we vibe over bands like Northlane, Erra, Veil of Maya, Fit For A King and more.

    This video did, in fact, teach me how to fry scream. It takes time, practice, knowing when to stop before you hurt your voice, the occasional coughing fit, developing an understanding of when the neighbors aren't home, and finding VERY tolerant housemates. But it works, and all I can say is THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANKS!

    • @SaltWaterDrums
      @SaltWaterDrums 2 роки тому +23

      @@nicolewong3106 About a year of regularly working at it. I strongly reccomend looking for some stuff on vocal warmups as that helps avoid soreness. Make sure to drink water (lukewarm, not cold), try and keep your face and neck muscles relaxed, don't push yourself too hard and don't practice for more than an hour at a stretch in the early stages.

    Hi Andy, I think it is great that you posted this video! It will help many singers to develop in their musicality. Music is no competition as many think! No one will ever sound like you and will never be able to replace someone else. And who cares about musicians if not their fans and other musicians?!

    Wow, this was awesome! Best step- by -step break down on how to screamo. Throwing the basics first and explaining how to achieve that is great, unlike the past 3 videos i watched, where all they said was "if you dont know how to do the basics, go learn that first".... and never explained what that was lol.

      Say the word, "Mom" in a long, drawn out way normally. Lower the pitch until it sounds garbled. That rolling growl in the back is what you should feel, not pain in the top.

      Also lip trills (pushing from your diaphragm and blowing out with your lips together till they move a lot) while going chest voice to falsetto helps, do it daily for 5-10 minutes to increase range after a few months you'll hear a difference, the first vocal lesson vid from him will show you that and warm ups

      if you want to sing high stuff, just practice, start with low songs then slowly up the scale keep at it and youll eventually reach the note you want.

    • @mirage2nr771
      @mirage2nr771 5 років тому +1

      Scaling slowly with different songs works pretty well, just a practice on a song at your limits, until you feel very comfortable with it, then go for a little bit higher on another song. That's how I got from losing my voice with LP - In the end, to nailing Asking Alexandria - Moving On 😊
