Hi doctor, I am using Minoxidil to improve hair growth..but it only helps the hair on the middle skull to grow...what can i do to grow hair on side skull
As a young man I had incredibly beautiful, strong, auburn hair. I grew it long and it was my trade mark. The thought of losing my hair caused me a lot of anxiety, especially as I had started to worry about receding at the crowns. The tldr is that I shaved it off for work reasons. Ive partially grown it back, I may grow it long again... who knows. In fact the fear of going bald was far worse than any hair condition I had. Im over 50 now, with good hair, with more grey growing through. My point is that people like you for what you do with pride and confidence, and that might mean growing your hair long, OR shaving it all OFF. Im an older, straight, man. If I went on a date with a GIRL who was completely bald, but owned it, I would not even blink.
I've always known MM got hair transplants. He wasn't fooling me. A history of online pictures makes him a liar when asked. WHY be ashamed to want to look better (within reason) ??? Trying to look like you did at 20 when you're 50 is stupid. The trick is being "age appropriate" when it comes to how much work you want to get done. Ty Dr Linkov for doing what you do!
Definitely a hair transplant. I'm fairly certain Christian Slater who you see at the beginning of your video, had one as well. I had a hair transplant a month ago and I'm very open about it to anyone that is interested. It's a long process but I look forward to seeing results in another 2-3 months!
I recall a hair transplant consultant doing a video about Matthew's hair and he was able to pull pictures from around 2010 and 2015 where he had major recession in his temples. I also recall seeing a couple of videos from his personal youtube channel where he's at his home just talking into a camera and his hair looked crazy thin. Even watching interstellar at some points in the movie his hairline looks quite high.
I just watched the video talking about that same thing, that he hasn't had hair transplants but rather uses very sophisticated front lace hair pieces for certain movies and events.
@@tuffstuff2U True. His hair was thinning big time way back around the mid -l ate 90s. His instant thicker hair are from very good lace/thin skin hair pieces not any gel, meds or transplants. Nothing more or less.
these new procedures are really fantastic, the result is so natural, I remember at the beginning of these operations the result was catastrophic, people had on their heads a field of leeks, it was really ugly
For all those who are debating getting it done. DO IT. I would highly recommend going to Turkey. My friend just got back and he had a cul-de-sac classic horseshoe shape balding. 4500 grafts for $3K! He is only 6 months in and it looks amazing. The likelihood of the procedure looking more natural diminishes the longer you wait. I'm going next year.
The only thing that everybody forgets to look at is, is it gonna last? They all say hair will still be growing normally but there has been lots of men saying that after 2-3 years after the procedure the hair started falling again. So yeah thats what Im concerned about when getting it
Can you do a video on Mike O'Hearn and his hair transplant please?? He is a 50 year old bodybuilder that claims he's never used steroids, Botox, etc..., but what I think is so toxic about that guy is that he then sells vitamins and other supplements for hundreds and hundreds of dollars to people that believe him. He is the worst kind of UA-camr and you can be the first doctor to prove he is lying.
Thank you, I've learned so very much as I prepare to have mine! I wish I lived in N.Y. so I could work with you, but I live in CA. The cost is just too great to fly to N.Y. I sure wish you would comment on Bosely.
I think he had great hair transplants, and kudos to whomever did his procedures. I had a few hair transplants many years ago, and though they look OK, they are not as good as what these famous people received (probably with much better and more expensive surgeons). They did a pretty good job on my hairline, though not as good of a job on my crown area.
We have to keep in mind that people have different types of hair. The end result isn't all about the operation being good or bad but how much coverage your hair type gives you.
He's smarter than most with it. He usually gets a full buzzcut so no one notices he got a transplant. And when he grows back, he gets a wild style so no one notices any follicle changes.
I think you have it dialed in just about right. McConaughey is a great looking guy w/ angular and tight facial lineaments, likely has a stylist who can magnify good results. His wavy hair certainly helps, too. No matter where his hair might've come from, most everyone surely agrees that's some really great looking hair! I'm not bothered, at all, by Matthew not revealing details. More bothered by those who pay little attention to their appearance. Good video by the way!
Never heard about this Regenix, and from what you said doc it doesn't make me wanna know either hahaha. About Matt's hair, great video covering the subject, when I was young I thought he used a hairpiece for sure lol, but after growing up and learning more and more on the subject, I couldn't agree more with you doc, his hair just gets better and increases density like crazy only using topical products?! I ain't buying it
@@joethi4981 sure, no secret there 2750 €! The same treatment in Belgium would have cost me 18000€! Ridiculous, but then European prices are ridiculous. So there you have it.
I really want to ask you this question- You said it's not recommended to do more than 2500 grafts in one take for few reasons. But what If you do two operations, say three days apart, so that I would just be done with, let's say 4000 grafts?
No. Not a great idea because you want to see how the hair grows in before committing thousands more precious grafts. What if an area doesn’t grow in well and you now want that area filled in again but you’ve now utilized many of your grafts elsewhere?
@@drgarylinkov Yeah, and also donor area management becomes tricky as well. Multiple day surgeries are performed to give the crew rest, not the patient.

Mathew denies getting a hair transplant... because he doesn't remember getting one.. Hollywood is a strange place.... his handlers send him to a relaxing Spa he wakes up 3 days later with fresh grafts and none the wiser
I am a bit on the edge with Matthew McConaughey.. not sure if he did indeed have a hair transplant. He has a similar look as an old boss of mine.. that guy also had much worse hair 20 years ago and I definitely know he had no hair transplants. He used natural remedies and Propecia and his hair is full now, much more than ever before. If indeed it was a transplant here in this case it was really done much better than what you usually see. Looks very very natural I have to say.
38 years old and i've never had hair loss problems and no hair loss in my family. However, I started TRT therapy a couple of years ago and I'm noticing my hairline receding. It really worries me, but the benefits from TRT outweigh the cons. I've been looking at hair loss treatments and solutions, but idk it just seems like such a hassle and lots of stress. I think I'll just let it go and eventually shave it, but it still makes me feel insecure at times. Oh well
Good on him! He saw something that he thought looked bad on him and fixed it. The result is probably one of the best I've seen, so everyone's a winner. If you can afford it...and that's a big "if" as it's still prohibitively expensive for most people IMO, then don't hesitate to get one.

Love your humour and your fresh good looks. Elegant segue from people who you compliment, then smoothly announce some disagreement. I wish more people would express discord in such a friendly, informative way.
This dude is the professor X of hair transplants. Subscribed.

Riveting Gary!!! Thank God some of us guys have your option! Hair Loss is second only to cancer. Glad I'm still here!
Are you kidding me? Are you that insecure????
Dr. Gary, you're great!! Keep up the good work, I love the videos!
You are spot on. I had several and I couldn't agree with you more.
Love these honest videos! Pure professionalism! If l ever needed a procedure, l have no doubt this terrific Doc would be first choice ! 🙂
Dr. Linkov, I regrew my hair by using PRP injections, and I made my own PRP kit to be used at home and it WORKED.
All right all right all right!! 😃👏
You were right! It is a very fun video!
Worth the wait! ❤
🙏
True Detective season one was the best.
Interesting that Christian Slater was interviewing him ... who himself has had a HT. Big fan of both! 🤙🏻
This is my new favorite channel!
Always enjoy your videos Dr. Linkov! You brought to the table a strong argument & I agree with you! The treatment he claims he used I believe could give him minimal results (if any), however the fullness of his hairline in later years, was a complete 180! I do believe he had extra “help” lol. Love the fact that you appreciate scientific results & supplied them for us to take a look as well. Happy New Year!
Hi doctor, I am using Minoxidil to improve hair growth..but it only helps the hair on the middle skull to grow...what can i do to grow hair on side skull
You probably can't, sorry. Higher dose oral minoxidil might do it, but that has serious health risks and I would not recommend it at all.
If im losing hair just in the front if i apply minoxidil just there, it might work ?
(Sorry for my english im European)
Wtf
Exactly!! I'm a 46 yr old woman who has buzzed off hair AT LEAST 4x. I actually get compliments. Its just hair people!!!
Right? I’m 31 but I think many girls look great bald. It really is all about owning it
I've always known MM got hair transplants.
Dr. Gary Linkov is so good he's actually 68 years old.
Dr Linkov is about 32 years old. He started med school in 2007, presumably he was about 22 years old at the time.
@@DeeDee-lz8zx It’s a joke lol. We’re actually the same age Im 32. But yeah he takes care of himself for sure! 🤙
Definitely a hair transplant. I'm fairly certain Christian Slater who you see at the beginning of your video, had one as well. I had a hair transplant a month ago and I'm very open about it to anyone that is interested. It's a long process but I look forward to seeing results in another 2-3 months!
I think you are right, as always, a very well done job better now than back then I'm impressed.
Yes dr linkov with the truth! So tired of the denial from celebrities why not tell the truth
Which hair transplant is better FUE or FUT?
We have a video on that.
these new procedures are really fantastic, the result is so natural, I remember at the beginning of these operations the result was catastrophic, people had on their heads a field of leeks, it was really ugly
I think you're right, you have great videos. Thanks Dr. G!
Do one for Zac Efron and John Travolta I think that would be interesting c:
John Travolta wears hair systems (wigs)
The special ointment contains...love.
Which clinic/doctor in turkey??
who???
The only thing that everybody forgets to look at is, is it gonna last? They all say hair will still be growing normally but there has been lots of men saying that after 2-3 years after the procedure the hair started falling again. So yeah thats what Im concerned about when getting it
Ditto! You are such a Gem. Thank you!
Hehe good old Mike O'Tren.. .that would be fabulous.. Maybe it's his duck eggs that have magic powers lmao.
I think the hairline would be the most important area to not mess up
We have to keep in mind that people have different types of hair. The end result isn't all about the operation being good or bad but how much coverage your hair type gives you.
Great video! Thank you!
The cosmetologist in me just wants you to mention his hair color change as well 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I look right past that lol
I love your thumbnails, doctor.
Do a video on Kanye’s hair transplant. He got a very subtle one. Mainly his temples were filled in. Looks so natural!
He's smarter than most with it. He usually gets a full buzzcut so no one notices he got a transplant. And when he grows back, he gets a wild style so no one notices any follicle changes.
I always find your videos very interesting! I was wondering if you could do a video o tattoo scar camouflage. Thanks!
Thanks! It’s on the to do list
Completely agree with you! His hair looks great! He should own it though.
Thanks. Can you suggest clinics in the Toronto area?
I think you have it dialed in just about right. McConaughey is a great looking guy w/ angular and tight facial lineaments, likely has a stylist who can magnify good results. His wavy hair certainly helps, too. No matter where his hair might've come from, most everyone surely agrees that's some really great looking hair! I'm not bothered, at all, by Matthew not revealing details. More bothered by those who pay little attention to their appearance. Good video by the way!
love your vids Linkov
Never heard about this Regenix, and from what you said doc it doesn't make me wanna know either hahaha. About Matt's hair, great video covering the subject, when I was young I thought he used a hairpiece for sure lol, but after growing up and learning more and more on the subject, I couldn't agree more with you doc, his hair just gets better and increases density like crazy only using topical products?! I ain't buying it
This is very good info! Thanks for your great analysis Dr. :)
Steve carrell could be next! Great transplant!
I just had a transplant 3500 grafts! Let’s see still restoring. And yes I believe you are absolutely right on this one! 👍🏼
Can I ask how much did it cost you?
@@joethi4981 sure, no secret there 2750 €! The same treatment in Belgium would have cost me 18000€! Ridiculous, but then European prices are ridiculous. So there you have it.
Need to know the clinic? Esteworld Istanbul. My brother did it a year ago at this clinic, AMAZING RESULT
Greetings Guy-Louis 😉
3500 grafts for only 2750? thats less than 1 USD per graft. i'm skeptical
Of course you're right. Never believed him. Its fairly obvious.....
very informative video thanks
I really want to ask you this question-
You said it's not recommended to do more than 2500 grafts in one take for few reasons. But what If you do two operations, say three days apart, so that I would just be done with, let's say 4000 grafts?
Its actually very common in turkey to do like what you said 2 sessions the next day hope doc replies on what he thinks about it
No. Not a great idea because you want to see how the hair grows in before committing thousands more precious grafts. What if an area doesn’t grow in well and you now want that area filled in again but you’ve now utilized many of your grafts elsewhere?
@@drgarylinkov Thanks, that totally make sense
@@drgarylinkov Yeah, and also donor area management becomes tricky as well. Multiple day surgeries are performed to give the crew rest, not the patient.
You Nailed It
Hi Dr Gary I love the content keep up, I do agree with You Mathew did had hair transplant but a Very good one. You should also cover Bradley Cooper’s hair transplant. I think he had two hair transplant but I want to know what You think..
You should make videos about hair loss treatments that aren't FDA approved, like RU58841, Fluridil and Alfatradiol. Do they work?
I know you have a hair condition but damn you rock it well!!! I don’t know what you looked like with hair, but I like how you look now.
I do, too. Incredibly handsome.
would ATP be good to spray after microneedling?
what people forget is this is an actor. he basically invested in his career as he is in the public all the time. dont compare yourself to such people. you are perfectly fine without hair
@MegaSkilla did i say everybody has to shave it off? i just encouraged people to feel good in their body no matter what. if you are insecure and want to follow society standarts no problem go for a hair transplant. you do you buddy =)
Does rogaine have any issues with psoriasis? Please let us know, thank you!
Mathew denies getting a hair transplant... because he doesn't remember getting one..
Hollywood is a strange place....
his handlers send him to a relaxing Spa
he wakes up 3 days later with fresh grafts and none the wiser
Nice explanations. 👍
Dr Gary does Fut makes the results looks natural or the surgeon was really good ? Thanks 🙏
So sad that he lied. It’s quite obvious he has done something to regrow that hairline. I have always admired him. :(
He didn't even have to. It's like he was on their show just to address it lol
He didn't regrow anything. He had transplants.
People are embarrassed. I think it’s ok to not admit it, we all know anyway
Love the channel Dr Linkov is a great presenter.
Oh well
Worrying?? A mature man? Seriously?
You have TRT for training?
@@robbertag808 of course lol very few young men really need trt
TRT will nuke your hair. Goodluck
Kinda late but, bro just take finasteride
Great video!
Who cares? He's such an awesome individual it wouldn't matter. He could loose all his hair and still be magnetic.
Good on him! He saw something that he thought looked bad on him and fixed it. The result is probably one of the best I've seen, so everyone's a winner. If you can afford it...and that's a big "if" as it's still prohibitively expensive for most people IMO, then don't hesitate to get one.
Good on him, but also thanks to man like Jude Law for rocking shaved had..
Why can't he simply say he got a transplant?
Frankly, it really goes against his salt of the Earth persona. If people lie about something so trivial it means they probably lie about a lot of other stuff too.
@@hanscastorp1945 can't agree more with you.
Hey Gary I meant to ask on your last video, but are there any lllht combs you would recommend?
It’s not vanity, it’s commerce.
You are no doubt correct; however, a fear of being thought to be vain could also be involved. Something more common in men than women, I think.
@@fromingpigeon I’m quoting McConaughey quoting Dennis Hopper talking about plastic surgery.
@@Rainy_Day12234 Ah, I see.
I think you are correct, it is difficult to regrow in places where scalps are super shiny. Please link me to Nicholas Cage and John Travolta videos. 😂
