The new Ping G710 is a replacement for the G700 but they look so different now with the black hydropearl finish. Ping are claiming a 5% more forgiveness through the irons but in this video Ali hits the 5 iron, 7 iron and 9 iron. Let's see what he thinks.

I just ordered a set 5 - PW.AW.SW last week. Cant wait to get them. hitting them with the fitter was so great.
I’ve bought a set. I was fitted for the forged i500 & I shouldn’t be using a game improvement iron as I’m a 7 handicap. But the distance, the feel felt better than the i500 & it’s so nice to look at. Even on a shank these clubs perform. They are a bit drawry for me but so so good. Best irons out at the minute. Another very good iron I tested was the p790. It was a very close call.
I play off 5 and the 710s are remarkably good.
Richard Hannam they don’t look like a game improvement iron. A bit clicky but still good feel. I’m getting older now so I need that distance these clubs provide impressive irons.
@@theamaturegolfer7798 Exactly why I bought them. I might be off 5 but I'm 73 now so increasing help needed going forward.

What was your swing speed on the g710 5,7,9 irons. Looks steady yet slow but you got good ball speed and distance. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Hey Ali, great review! When I tried out the G700 irons last year, I was really put off by the hollow sound and hollow feel of them. Did you think the same about the G700s and do you think the G710s differ in that regard?
Exactly the same feel I thought, but the sound is the biggest difference as you don’t get that hollow ping & it looks a lot thinner almost like a players iron from address. I’m a category 1 golfer & bought these, they are meant to be game improvement iron but now I’m in my 40s I like that bit of extra forgiveness & distance. I’m a bit wiser now & think I’m happy to sacrifice that forged look & feel for forgiveness & distance. Incredible golf clubs a must buy.

Ali love your swing mate. Have to ask about your eyes just after contact. You look down/forward after impact then look high where the ball flight is going. Is that a drill you do??? Cheers

Same old story. UA-cam reviewer hits SGI irons flawlessly with ease, but finds some excuse as to why they can't game them and that they're intended for a different golfer demographic lol
Nice review Ali, visually the G710 looks much better than the G700. I love the black/grey/black clubface and when they are fitted to the PING Alta graphite shaft in black they look the DB's!
I agree with the looks.
There’s no disputing that they are easy to hit and they look really good. Sticking point for me is the price!
Depends hoew many you need and how long you keep them for as to their value rather than price in my opinion.
Great review, I think that Ping does long irons as good as anyone however when you get into the short irons they have much too much bounce and they seem to launch too high and are difficult to flight down. Like you stated earlier this could be a blended set with g710 in long to mid irons then progress down.
Any big difference between G410 and the g710?
710 is hollow, so launches a little higher, more forgiving and definately feels a bit softer.
