@@2ndswing ...so I spent an hour and a half hitting the Ping 710 (first choice before hitting), Callaway Mavrik Max (second choice) and the Taylormade Sim Max OS (third). After about an hour, the Sim Max OS CLEARLY felt the best. Sweet feel and sound and I was getting around 10-15 yards extra distance. Another half hour confirming the Sim Max OS as my new first choice. The Callaways came in second and the Pings third. I'm ordering the Sim Maxs but I will be reviewing your swing regularly to try and improve my own. Cheers!
One thing that’s nice about these is that they are not crazy strong like the new T400 and the Rogue X. Stopping on firm green smay be a challenge. Wear on the finish will be interesting as you get feedback later in the season. Thanks for a quick review out of the gate.
Thanks for watching our video John. These irons should fly higher to provide help to stop the ball on firmer greens. It will be interesting to see how the soles look after a season of wear, but the face should still look pretty good
Alston, you can make an appointment at one of the stores. You can use this link -- fitting.2ndswing.info/schedule-now/ -- to do that and if you have any other questions just let us know. Thanks!
Alston, Thomas did a full fitting with my daughter who is new to golfing just recently and I honestly cannot recommend him enough. he's at the Minnetonka location and it would be completely worth the trip up to the cities! (and by chance, my daughter (16 and 6' tall) ended up with G710 irons) I have personally worked with Thomas a few others at 2ndSwing and they are top notch!
I know that Thomas would not be in this head or shaft, but gapping these would be an issue. 190 yard 7 iron, 240 yard 4 iron. 50 yards in between with only 2 clubs to cover that gap.
Really nice looking clubs, but they still sound a little clicky when testing indoors, it will be interesting to hear what they sound like out on the course.
Hitting 240 4 iron, man that's Champ distance, with a short game could compete on any tour. I like the way these irons look, looks like Ping has another hit.
Thanks for the comment Frank. Your right these irons look very nice for a game improvement option. Short game is a little suspect at times. I won 12 Minnesota PGA Section events in 2019. Very close to Getting to the Web.com/Korn Ferry in the past, lets hope 2020 will be even better!
We do have some used check out the ones in above average condition but new would be very hard to come by at this time: www.2ndswing.com/search.aspx?searchterm=ping+g700+iron+set - Thomas
That's not really a surprise, especially for a player of Thomas' caliber. If you look at the PGA Tour numbers that Trackman releases, 7-iron peak height is on average nine feet higher than a pitching wedge. In fact, 5-, 6-, 8-, and 9-iron also all have higher peak heights than the PW as well, and a big part of that is just the faster ball speeds that are produced by longer clubs and less loft. Here's a link for you: blog.trackmangolf.com/trackman-average-tour-stats/
These look fantastic.. I like a larger iron head that these have, but DO NOT like the huge amount to offset. I wish I could order these with very little offset. I'd buy them for sure.. But with so much offset I can not buy these.
Yeah, unfortunately when irons go up in size that often comes with a lot of offset. Have you looked at the i500s? That's a mid-size iron that offers a similar construction and plenty of forgiveness and they have very little offset. Might be worth a look.
@@2ndswing Thanks for responding.. Yea .. I looked at the i500's.. Offset is good (meaning less offset - which I like).. But the head is smaller than I would like. I just don't get it .. Why does a large iron head HAVE to be made with a large amount of offset?? I am sure there are golfers who would just like a large head but very little offset (like me - and I am sure there many others who agree with me).. Simply a larger head means a little bigger sweet spot. Wish they would come out with a G710 version with very little offset. And I think you are right, just about every single game improvement large iron club (TM M6, Wilson D7, Callaway Big Birtha iron, etc) have huge amounts of offset. I will keep looking.. Thanks again.
@@howlingwolf125y Frustrating for sure. Maybe take a look at Cobra as well - both F9 and SpeedZone are definitely game-improvement irons on the larger side but within that category seem to have less offset than many others. Good luck!
@@2ndswing Yea. Thanks for the info.. I will check out these two Cobras.. Also will look at the Cobra Turbos.. They look odd but the specs say they have less offset. Thanks so much for the info and good luck to you.. And may Jesus always be with you!!
Driving two hours tomorrow to get fitted for these (bag stolen 4 days ago). Great swing to watch and emmulate. Thanks for the input.
Thanks for watching! Really sucks the bag was stolen....

How come the spin rates and carry distance was better on the G700 vs the new G710?
In Iowa and would like to get my GD fitted for new clubs she is 12 and 5'6 do you make appointments?

Holy crud this guy hits a mile. 4 iron 240 yards carry?? Crazyyy
loft is quite strong on it but yeah he does hit pretty far.
Excellent video and two excellent staff for reviewing the G710. Thank you very much. BTW, What software and launch monitor is this?
Thanks Tiger168. They guys are using Trackman 4 in all of these videos.
What’s with the 7-iron flying higher than the PW?
