    @BoneCrusherJiuJitsu Shrimp taste great with just a simple marinade of olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper and some fresh chopped cilantro. You can also check out the link at the end of the video description for lots of recipes for shrimp marinades.
    Happy Cooking!

    I use 8-10 shrimps on the grill. peeled and deveined and generously sprinkled with a spicy dry rub. No skewers. Just right onto the grill that has been lightly brushed with oil after heating. Let stand for a couple of minutes after removing from the grill. Serve with your favorite ice cold beer. You will not have a better meal all summer.

    Hi Maria, you can do this on a stove-top grill plate.

    Thanks for the tip about using two skewers to prevent the shrimp from twirling. (I've only been grilling things... such as shrimp... for about a hundred years -- you'd think I would have figured that out myself by now.)

  • @allrecipes

    Great question, Miko. You can certainly cook the shrimp on the stove top. If you have a grilled pan, that'd work great too.

    Thanks for your question. You won't need to cover the shrimp or close the grill lid. Happy grilling :)

    can you cook it without olive oil or any oil.

    • @allrecipes
      @allrecipes  8 років тому

      Shrimp don't have any natural oil that heat would bring out, Artavazd Nalbandyan, so you need some kind of oil or they will stick to the cooking pan.

    • @arto.nal8
      @arto.nal8 8 років тому

      +Allrecipes Thank you very much, I am now on a very low calorie diet which simply excludes any kind of oil,and I'd love to eat some fish considering that they are very high in protein and low in calories,ESPECIALLY shrips,I guess there is no alternative?

    Actually, shrimps can be deveined without slicing them lengthwise at the back, in fact, without taking the shell off, by making a single tiny cut at (near) the end of the gut, and pulling the intestines out using a pair of tweezers, if the goal is to devein but leave them intact.

    Before I saw this I thought larger shrimp was better because of how quickly they can dry out. Why are medium shrimp preferred for grilling?

    • @allrecipes
      @allrecipes  8 років тому +4

      It's mostly the cost, Kenney. You get more shrimp for your money per pound if you buy medium shrimp: 31-35 medium shrimp vs. 21-30 large shrimp. You may choose either size though.

    Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.
