    I made this recipe for my families annual barbecue contest. After 9 years of trying I finally won 1st place. I don't give the credit to my grilling skills but to this amazing recipe.

    That is how you MUST eat Korean BBQ. Big mouthfuls and hand gestures about how great the food is. My mom made the best bulgogi when I was growing up.

    Review: I've made this multiple times over the years & it's a very easy fool proof & easy to follow recipe. Marinating it prevents it from becoming dry, & it's cooks quickly. I usually use the grill, but it still tastes great if you just cook it inside.

    Hahahaha the ending is great! That would be happening at my house too. Kalbi is our favorite thing to eat and we are like hogs when eating it. Impossible to walk away from even if you have to end your show! lol I find it interesting that you put kiwi in the marinade. I've seen asian pears before but never kiwi. I guess it does the same thing.

    • @JesusIsLoveTR
      @JesusIsLoveTR 8 років тому +2

      Yes aside from the Asian pear, people even use pineapple, or cola since the acid tenderizes the meat. I sometimes use canned pears for that hint of sweetness if I don't have the others on hand. It tastes awesome! Today, I added some guava juice since that is what I had on hand. 😊

    Your husband just loves Korean food! Unless mine, he just cannot love that much! And he told me he just cannot stand garlic or ginger in the marinate, and he doesn't like onion and mushroom!!!! So each time I cook Korean food I have to get rid of them! I wish my husband can love Korean food as much as your husband and I do:( but I will continue to cook Korean food to myself and make sandwich to him! Love your recipe, will definitely give a try!

    Tried this recipe yesterday. I used cooking sake instead of rice wine, subbed the stock for water, and didn't notice anything off. Definitely be careful of cooking it too long because you dont want to burn the sugars. Otherwise pretty good, I'd give it a 10/10 for my first time.

    I marinated this last night for a BBQ today. I did two substitutes. I used beef stock and vodka. I didn't have the other stuff and thought it would be better then water. mine didn't come our as dark as yours tho. my dish was the meat there and it went fast! there was people sucking the bones. I used the LA Korean beef ribs.
