Seat Leon Cupra Facelift full review: ua-cam.com/video/6KkQPxaIvfY/v-deo.html
That seat ST version looks amazing
The old Leon in White (Cupra V6) is the one with more aggression sexiness and character. Design doesn't look dated neither.
i own a Cupra4, but just the 1.9 ARL Diesel Engine
Always love a new Autogefühl video! thank you as always for such great work
Many thanks for this professional review and congratulations to Seat !
thanks nico!
I gen Cupra (or even Cupra R) for me. You had sweety sound vr6 with all wheel drive, recaro seats which make this car completely impractical, especially at the rear. However you could feel that this car is a bit raw. Just casual compact car with some craziness. You can't find this nowadays.
Great video Thomas and rest of the team.
I also appreciate that they have 'rescued' that gorgeous historic Spanish circuit. Well done Spaniards.
Well done Catalans more like.
@@Anolbea this might come as a surprise to you but Catalans are Spaniards 😉
@@MattUK36 Couple of million people would disagree with you.. Most of the races there where named around the word Catalunya.
@@Anolbea what the hell are you talking about on races and Catalonia?
@@Anolbea behold the expected pathetic infantile reaction of a simple irrelevant person with no arguments to offer when confronted. Piss off, quit bothering with your childish inane moanings and quit making a complete fool of yourself 😉
The latter 1st gen Cupra is still the best looking.
Wow, this was a really great SEAT's episode! I've always liked SEAT's design. In fact I looked for Ibiza (3rd generation) as for my first car years ago but couldn't find a good occasion. I'm thinking now about the Ateca.
Anyway, I really enjoyed this episode, both on the track and in the car's manufacturer (nice english-german-spanish mix). Great job!
glad u enjoyed!
best value is the facelift mk2 leon fr, get a stage 1 its about 270 bhp quick as a cupra r
Thank you Thomas! Very interesting review! The first generation Seat Leon Cupra R - is the best car in its class ... then)) I really like this car! The new generation of Cupra Leon is very pleased with its fans!
thanks keep tuning in =) Guess you ve tuned in to the new Leon review already?
Cheers Thomas for this segment of the Leon generations which i really enjoyed! I'd love these segments to become a regular thing on your channel because it's thoroughly enjoyable, informative and really opens your eyes to how the automotive industry is changing and adapting in design and technology. As for which generation i prefer, it has to be the first generation in Cupra R guise with the 225hp BAM engine because it made me fall in love with the brand. Saying that, i found that each of the generations has been special in some way in terms of design and technology. The third generation shows how far the Leon brand has come within three generations having had a lot of influence from the VW group.
thanks for watching!
The first generation of the Leon reminds me of the Alphasud my Father had in the 70s
Agree; and you don't see many Sud's about now. They were fun.
Oh the 70s :-)
MK1 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
If someone is wondering where is this, this is the Terramar Circuit, located in Barcelona, Spain. It is from 1923, it has 2 km long and its peralts have more than 60º. Now it is not in use ;)
it is now :)
Mentioning it in the video as well
Yeah, I have seen it later! Sorry haha
That white v6 is a stunning example!
I believe back in the '90s, a VW Group's European Design Centre operated there in Sitges. Lots of VAG models had come out of that one.
Another intersting thing is that the first generation Leon shared the dashboard design with its contemporary first generation Audi A3.
I don;t know if the Sitges VAG European Design Centre played any role to that.
You are so plesant presenter Mr. and I can feel your passion!
I always wanted a Leon and I never give up the hope but with norweegian taxes it can never be a 290.
Bougth a brand new Cordoba 1.8! in 95. Imported from Germany a Altea in 2005, a Ibiza ST in 2010 and a Exeo in 2011(no dealers in Norway)
Still have Exeo and Ibiza but my wife want the new Seat Walker. Have watched your brilliant reviews of them and I've already done som calculating.
tusind tak! you ll also be fine with the smaller engines :)
1M and 1P facelift are two beauties
nice video with perfect timing Thomas!! i am looking
at buying a seat leon possibly as my daily driver car i really like it and since i live in germany at the time.i can get one we dont get those in the states :/
enjoy :)
Isaiah Deshazier best choice. if you can afford a leon cupra 290/300 go for it. best value for money hatchback out there and can be 4 cars in one with its driving modes. from soft quite family to crazy fast racing car.. 😎
Eirini M i was thinking about the 2014 (before the facelift) model as a cupra though ofcourse with very low mileage :) thanks for the tip bro :)
I own black Leon 1M,My father owns Red mk3 Leon and Mother have 1P Orange leon...we love them
Love the idea of the video
(y)
These CUPRA models are great :)
Best is the current CUPRA 290 !
But the old V6 is also great for the sound !!
DAT V6 THO!!! LOVE IT!!!
What a location!
Truly is! Interesting and funny review! :)
Yes, super location. I hope the Autódromo de Sitges-Terramar is preserved for history, and not over-restored - it is a REALLY lovely place. (great video btw, Thomas, thanks).
My favorite is the second generation of the Seat Leon
Echt ein tolles Video =) Ich bin mega zufrieden mit meinem 290 ST, ist mein Daily Driver für 160km täglich und ich freu mich auf jede fahrt :)
The mk1 Cupra is still the most gorgerous one, I mean: you got a full Bodykit, large rims and lower suspension to show off. What does the Leon mk2 and mk3 Cupra give you? A 5cm large badge xD
I used own a SEAT Toledo 1.9TDI 110bhp SE 2002 saloon version of Leon mk1 also in Red&VW Corrado 2.0 16V 150bhp 1994 in Tornado Red.
Nice video as usual!!
Excellent video
I've always preferred seat over vw because I think they're better looking cars that also give you similar if not better performance
I never knew they made a Leon with a V6. All the UK Cupra/Cupra R versions used the 1.8T 20v engine.
Just one question since they are all round up together... why no one ever mentions the Leon 2 cupra R310? wasn't it also directly from the seat? even thought it wasn't launched in every country it was standard from factory afaik...
1st gen V6 engine + 2nd gen body disign + 3rd gen interior and platform = best Leon
Interesting review, but it would be even more interesting if Tomas mentioned some details, especially with the 2nd gen that they tried to be innovative in several ways, p.e..that young British designer who designed the 2nd generation Leon body with its side lines that go up and above the front wheel unlike any other car, it was radically different at the time and the key element in the SEAT design at the time. It looked like it would be dominating in future models, but they abandoned it in the next gen. , made it much less prominent. Also grey interior plastic with silver tint that was inspired by the new materials (lycra?) used for sport cloths made at the time and that's how it all started for SEAT who still use grey plastic for interior instead of black... Also what was worth mentioning was the windscreen wipers design, they were hidden in the pillars, it was a much much better design than any other car. Screen wipers were fantastic with the 2nd generation Leon, they covered most of the screen, like no other car. (Mercedes tried it once unsuccessfully). Sadly it's gone now due to sensors installed in the pillars I guess. Also the way the 2nd gen. was influenced by Alfa Romeo... Lots of interesting info is missing here sadly. Tomas, even though you are the best, you still have to do your homework!
@@johanwallberg6646 I know. That's what Wikipedia says. But the body concept was designed by the other guy.
As usual nice review, Autogefühl I'm waiting the new BMW 5 series full review!!
+Aziz belkharmoudi just driving it atm :)
I'm very excited to see the full-length, full-HD review!!!
will be very cool I can promise u :)
great review.
Thomas, can it be done with fabia?
Maybe. We can try ;)
I Love my MkIII Leon
Please, can you do the same comparaison video with all generation of BMW 5 series ?
at least all-new 5-Series is coming up, shooting starting tomorrow :) Let's see what we can do with BMW.
See our BMW heritage special episode here: ua-cam.com/video/Qr65zLoo88w/v-deo.html
They've really improved on their design over the generations.
next time Renault Mégane generations comparison
What software do they use?
2nd generation
Sick
love seat thinking of moving to mexico just to own my cupra .
No MK1 Cupra R?
I gen
MK2 FR:170 2.0 TDI all day long....The later ones had shit-looking..unattractive seats..front grills were boring, the lines of them looked boring, and backward in design. With the 07/08/09 versions, they weren't broke so why fix/change them?..The MK5 Golf-Look is the best variant IMO....
yeah, i dont know why, but the seat changed its unique style to the cube-simpleline boring vw design with the mk3 (2012) version.
@@MaxCohagen Absolutely buddy....A friend of mine a few years back had the 2.0 Leon FR on an 07 plate and it was the mutts-nuts....It had been tuned to around 220 bhp, it was just right, subtle when normal, and so much torque, it was rapid..It had The Looks..The lines..The Go etc..I miss that car....:)....
That's not even a real Cupra R? The Cupra R has twin exhaust at the back in the middle
My dad only buys 10+ year old cars.
Why hitting al those trees over and over again? :(
Volkswagen hot= seat
