I had no idea myself Zael was Hyperion. Very nice surprise. I did always wonder where they were going with him seeing how strong he was without any answers.
Another interesting fact is that the training and the mind wiping Zael endured were so intense that when his interrogators told him he was still a child, he laughed because he felt and thought he was much older than that.

Hoping Hyperion becomes the first named grey knight dreadnought. He has a great name and story for it, especially with him being buddies with Ravenor. I can imagine a scene with them meeting again and both finding it funny that they’re basically psychic coffins.
Considering the Grey Knights despise becoming a dreadnought as it means they failed to fall in the Emperor's service, personally I think it wouldn't do him justice. He needs to go out killing a greater daemon or higher with his bare hands to protect his younger brothers, not put in a place that the chapter as a whole sees as a black mark.

The book that told Hyperion's story as a GK, The Emperor's gift, was the first Black Library title I ever read, way back when I was like 10 or 11. I absolutely love it and even though I've read and listened to many titles since, none have ever topped it for me. Personally I think he might return to the setting soon, with Angron kicking about on Armageddon and all that. Hope he makes a big return and doesn't just get pasted to make Angy and/or Ghazkull seem stronger...
The Emperor's Gift is my very 1st BL novel. Really love the moment he broke Angron's Black Sword. For a moment I thought he's a goner for facing the Red Angel. But no, he make Angron go "surprised pikachu" for breaking the sword, and stall long enough for fellow Grey Knight to finish the job.
Apparently if you read the grey knight novel, he also has a Lion'el sized Johnson lol. She's probably dead in the current time period right now. Not sure if im missing something here but I didnt get the impression that she saw him like that. The person who said its a shame hes asexual was one of her retinue. I think Annika saw Hyperion as a little brother or sibling tbh
Something amusing was how many times Hyperion was put into situations that his past self would have died to be in. Like his friendship with one of the inquisitors and her retinue and how they would act around him.
