Ernie Lofthouse doing the honours in the box - spent many happy hours at Prom station, both as a boy, and signal lampman. Thanks very much for posting.
Because Train Stations are the First and last places visitors would notice and remember about a Town. And would have been an opportunity for Rail Companies and Town Planners to leave the impression that the People and they had pride and cared about you and themselves in what message you would return home with. Now they don't give a shit and just do the bare minimum to satisfy Health&Safety and Shareholders.
cheers for a great but sad upload.all the area we see now is crappy burger king and morrisons /i had great memorys leaving that station on bashing moves.
Thanks for the upload. In its pomp, the old Midland station must have had many platforms and long trains serving it. I notice Midland Hotel being lit up, was that for the occasion? The last train, seemed like a heritage DMU.
wow its chance tons my brother went on a train to Scotland with my dad wen he was younger and now its just a shitty resteraunt........but it amazes me HOW much its changed its just weird how its gone from a train station or a resteraunt hhhmmmm :/
