Hipfiring the BAR is actually a pretty nice detail here, intentional or not. It was designed as a LMG that could be used for 'walking fire', where the GI would walk across no-man's land and fire it from the hip while walking (it would be supported by the sling on one shoulder).

There was also a belt attachment that helped hold the buttstock in place and control recoil while firing from the hip that was sometimes used

hey diplex i think id have a cool suggestion for a battle based on the rhzev salient on the eastern front of world war two nicknamed the meat grinder it took place january 1942 - march 1943 this was a salient and there were multiple battles in it in the end 3.8 million soviets were dead wounded or missing/captured and 700,000 german casualties i think it would be a cool battle or if you want to a mini series just throwing a suggestion out there keep up the great content

the battle was also a stalemate i guess you can say tactical german victory strategic soviet victory since the germans eventually retreated

Bloke in your last izonzo videos aswell you commented on his machine gun with the stiff mag, forgot the name of the weapon system but behind the mag. It was essentially a large stripper clip sort of a loading system without it been able to strip.essentially without a feeding belt Back then instead instead it was a large clip
