- This is not a cruise ship!
The ColorLine Fantasy and Magic are the world's largest vehicle and passenger transport ships. Built very similar to a modern cruise ship, they are actually classified as ferries and bring passengers, (and cars, motorcycle, bicycles, etc), from Kiel, Germany, to Oslo, Norway.

I think the cabin looks quite okay, feels unfair compared to cruise ships where you stay a week or longer, for a night or two it's quite okay, and there are larger and more luxurious cabins if you think it's important, looking forward to hearing more about how you experienced the ferry cruise
silja serenade is the ferry that inspired royal caribbean royal promenade design
Was just coming to say this very thing :)
Yeah. I love the way Americans think RCI had that concept first, when most of these type of innovations were first seen on the Baltic Ferries.
“Not on the ship….I’m on the ship”. lol! I do the same thing.😂😂
Welcome to Oslo. I live in Oslo. Taken this ferry many times. Hope you liked it.
Not fair to compare a ferry to a cruiseship, they are totally different. This passage lasts only about 18 nours, your cabin is for getting a bit of sleep, no more than that. Done this passage several times when there was such a thing as sleeperchairs, compaired to that your own cabin is pure luxury.
We took the Color Fantasy in 2005, when she was pretty new. Looks like they take good care of her, seems to be in a good condition. The water park was fun as well, even though it cost extra, like anything else. Size of the cabin was ok for 2 people for just 2 nights.
It sooo cool. I never saw that ferry would be so nice. I don’t mind the size of the cabin and looks so cozy for 4 people. Better than train.
That buffet looks great, cannot wait for the next video.
I had reindeer sausage on my Alaska cruise on HAL. I liked it! I would have it again.
That window is disproportionately large. I love it. I'd be spending most of my time right there.
Had reindeer sausage when in Alaska. It was very good. Your room does look small
It’s a ferry cabin for an overnight sailing, not a cruise ship stateroom. I don’t think they can or should be compared in the least.
Thanks for the video Mate
Took this ferry in Oct 2024(cabin 10390) was comfortable and even smaller, with a port hole. What do you expect ,it`s for one one or two if returning .Clean ,good nights sleep and waking up to see the approach to Oslo via the fjords.
Ok, I ❤ the Airstream food truck! How FUN!
What an entertaining way to make this journey. Cant wait for the rest of the videos!
Great video! Planning to do that with my bike this summer. Rain deer sausage is great. Try it in jerky form.
Have had reindeer sausage in Alaska. Very good. Had in like a hot dog and also along other foods. Looking forward to more of your adventure on board.
I would try Reindeer Sausage! I thought it looked rather tasty!
I have seen other UA-camrs take a ferry something like this but different. There were options to just have seating no room and even pitch tents on certain decks of the ship. Those were in the US/Canada though, not sure if they offer those kinds in Europe.
I don't think there are camping ferries over here, but I could be wrong!
Thanks, The food looks gross. Also you did not show the route of the ship,
We have done that 3 times it a great city.
The siter ship Color Magic is a bit bigger and is the actual biggest cruise ferry in the world.
The double bedded outside cabins are much nicer, same size and price
Looks great. How long does it take to travel there?
We set sail at 2pm and arrived at 10am the next day.
Thanks keep it going.
oh dear a ferry it is not by definition a cruise ship
It's a ferry, not a cruise ship. However, it is the best ferry ship in Europe.. they are called cruise ferries ⛴️
You do appear to forget that this is just a ferry. An incredibly nice ferry but a ferry nonetheless, so stop comparing it to a cruise ship as ferries have a whole raft a different regulatory and operational requirements to a cruise ship.
Color Magic is larger than Color Fantasy.
That is basically the Royal promenade on the Voyager and Freedom class ships. Really does not look like a ferry. How many nights did you spend on board?
Just 2. One there and one back!
Oh, Ferry cabins are not luxurious at all. Ferries are fun to get to a place.😂
Actually this ferry is used by many or most as a recreation trip since it is so nice.
In the summertime it is more travelers that use it as a vacation connection between OSLO and KIEL
You can get greater cabins onboard.
Owners has a separate bedroom and a pretty huge living room.
The next is Suite-JR suite and color class 4star.
WHY instead of seeing the cabing we get 30 second CLOSE UP of your face ?
This video is called BOARDING THE WORLD'S LARGEST FERRY. Did you think it was going to be a cabin tour? But, have no worries, I also did a cabin tour ;-) Here, let me help you: ua-cam.com/video/qwWhvmIbWmE/v-deo.html
@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides THANKS
They literally copied the promenade straight from Royal 😂 even down to the tile.
And there is a Promenade Cafe... but all the snacks cost extra! :-/
Other way around, believe it or not! Royal Caribbean copied these ferries for the Voyager class.
Royal Caribbean copied the idea of a promenade from a Finnish ferry, the MS Silja Symphony. I imagine it’s that ferry’s design that inspired Color Line which is a Norwegian company that started operating 7 years before RC.
Silja Serenade built in Finland and Symphony was the first with promenad they are still in service between Helsinki and Stockholm! And the same shipyard has since built a lot of Royal Caribbean ships and for other cruse lines as well
Was ready for service in 1990 and 1991 I think
