I have to say, the behavior of humans in general has declined a TON in the last few years. Societal norms are no more. I've encountered people who are so impatient that waiting at a simple red light is no longer tolerable for them. Oh, they'll stop...for a second, make sure the coast is clear and then keep driving. Laws are now just suggestions. People just walk into grocery stores, fill a cart and then just walk out of the store without paying....and NO ONE goes after them. The employees are told not to confront stealing customers. I applaud you guys for braving a transatlantic cruise. I can handle about 7 days and then, I'm done. This was a fun video! Thanks for posting.

Exactly! I wanted to also say that straight people don’t walk around with their hands in their partners arse, but then had to rethink 🤔 I take that back! Things have become different lately. Not something I would allow nor do, but I can’t speak for anyone but myself.

I had a similar experience with towels. We put our towels and beach bag on our chairs and took a dip. We come back and our belongings are gone. We approach the young couple who was now sitting there and ask them if they saw our things. Then they said to us "well how do YOU like that being treated like that." I didn't have a clue as to what they were saying. Apparently, they had come out, put there personal belongings on the chair a few hours earlier and then went to breakfast. I can only assume it was the pool attendants who removed their things. I said we did not touch your belongings, nor would we ever do such a thing but you are not supposed to reserve chairs for hours. In contrast, we had taken a quick dip. They didn't believe us and got loud like we were criminals. No one from the pool staff intervened. It was very unpleasant.

Thank you for mentioning the pool chairs & people who try to reserve them all day. When I go out in the morning, I see towels and books on chairs. Nasty old me, picks them up and gives them to the pool attendant.

It is strange. I am a skier, love winter, hate summer, too hot. Yet I am addicted to watching cruise ship videos. I’ll never get on one, no sea legs, but love the whole atmosphere.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with that! I sometimes watch unboxings of products I will never buy, or make-up tutorials even though I never wear make-up, so I get it. By the way, this skiing video might interest you: ua-cam.com/video/ESd-Chg6IJQ/v-deo.html

Nope, you are totally justified. My biggest pet peeve is the way people will just stop walking right in the middle of the walkway to check their phones or talk or whatever. Just stop and block. Another other one I HATE and find beyond annoying is strolling 4 people wide so no one can get around them. And then those are the people who just walk out of a venue and don’t even look to see who’s coming. I am pretty short and have been run into because of just basic inconsideration. Sheesh. Bottom line, people are becoming more boorish as years go by.

    • @laureljaneg
      @laureljaneg Рік тому +6

That’s one of my pet peeves as well why can’t they just move over to the side? Or groups of people walking side-by-side in an area there’s no way for anybody else to get around them rude!

I just got back from a short 4-day cruise. It was my first one ever. I had a good time, but going solo I thought I might feel kind of awkward. It was at first, especially at dinner in the main, but the crew made me feel welcomed. After about half a day, I started hanging out on the deck and random people would just start talking to me. Eventually we all started hanging out. I think I only saw two entitled people. Very demanding sorts. I don't know why they would give the crew such an attitude. The crew was great.

That is truly some 'weird' behavior..Especially the chair climber! I had a similar thing when I was on the MSC Meraviglia, guy jumping the seats. Thankfully the gentleman two rows in front of me stopped the guy and told him to 'quit acting like a monkey and walk in the aisles like normal people do'...Quite a few people busted a gut laughing on that one and that guy was sooo embarrassed!! LOL

The stories that I could share of some of the things people have said and done to Otis and I out in the middle of no where leave me shaking my head and wondering how long it is going to be before someone hurts you and leaves you miles away from civilization. Just keep on walking Otis! lol Always enjoy your stories! Take good care now...Bruce and Otis

We really enjoy your approach on the people's behavioral aspect of your trips because we spend good part of our time at theme parks and we experience the same things all the time. The line abuse seams to be the most common effect but there are others and it most definitely worth to talk about it. In a very shallow analysis, besides other factors, the pandemic instead of making people more sensible and understandable about the others created an unacceptable collective unconscious aggressive behavior that some folks insist to show in the most diverse ways. We also understand that wanderlust plays a major role on peoples behavior and the sense that "nothing is gonna stop us now" can make a person to drive at 55 miles per hour inside Disney parking lot disregarding completely other people's lives putting in risk our families, with the only purpose of getting ahead of people that respect the rules and that's just the beginning... Thanks for bringing that up in a very nice and appropriate way so everybody can discuss this in a more adult manner. Have a Magic Weekend!

I've had many random strangers comment on my food choices, especially at the cruise buffet, where your food is on display for everyone. As I eat completely animal-based Carnivore (meats, seafood, eggs, butter, cheese.... no grains, sugars, fruits or vegs) people often feel the need to tell me I'm not eating healthy and I'm going to have a heart attack. Actually, up to 3 years ago, after eating a standard diet my whole life, I was left very unhealthy. Eating this way, I've lost 80 lbs, reversed all my health concerns, including pre-diabetes & high blood pressure, and at 61 years old, feeling better than I have in 40 years. So thanks for your concern and unsolicited advice, I'll just be over here enjoying my plateful of steak & butter.

I feel you. I eat Keto or Ketovore mostly. Last two months we won't discuss. I am so heather eating that way and have the lab work to prove it. But I hear it all the time, that will KILL YOU!!! from my vegetarian friends and family. I love vegetarians, leaves more meat for me :) Just don't comment on someone food choices. Ever.

@t moore It's nice to hear from someone who understands the amazing benefits of eating this way... it can get lonely out here in Carb World 😏
Don't worry about the last 2 months. You know what to do for your best self... make your very next meal lots of delicious fatty meat until you're stuffed. Remember, cravings are like stray cats... if you feed them, they'll keep coming around; ignore them and they'll go away 😊

It would take all day to share annoying behavior of others. But on cruises it’s still parents who let their kids run wild on the ship thinking well where can they go? And unchaperoned kids in the buffet picking over the food , and ..see I could go on and on. I have my next transatlantic in October. I’m going solo this time . I will find a quiet spot close to a drinking establishment and enjoy the sea. At 62 I just don’t have time to deal with stupid anymore. Oh one more thing. Worst behavior on our last transatlantic was we had a large group of gay couples from Germany traveling together. They were mostly very fun . About a week into the cruise my daughter and I were sitting in the martini bar while a group conversed behind us in German not realizing my daughter understood a good portion of their conversation. They where making rude derogatory comments on people walking by, mostly the Americans. It was so satisfying when as we got up to leave, we turned and commented to them enjoy the rest of your evening in German. Needless to say several of them avoided us for the rest of the voyage.

For me, it’s the saving of seats. For context, on my last cruise, I had been nursing a knee injury. My husband and I spotted two vacant seats, at the aquarium show, about half way down. So, I hobbled down the steps, like little kids have to, using just one leg, for the decent, and sat down. At almost 70, it wasn’t easy for me, with the injury. After about 30 seconds, a guy, maybe, 40, at most, turns to me and says, "Those seats are saved". I point blank told him that I wasn’t moving and as they typically announce at the beginning of shows that saving of seats is prohibited, he should already be aware of that. Some people around me actually clapped, lol. Needless to say, he was steaming mad, but I just didn’t care. When his people finally showed up, he loudly proclaimed that we had taken their seats. They didn’t seem to mind at all and found seats, on their own.

I was in a dog park last week. Me and my boyfriend were the only people there and one other person came in and stood with us. Before the guy showed up, I had asked my boyfriend if he remembered an old viral video (The pug that couldn't run) and he didn't know what I was talking about so I pulled out my phone to show him. The other guy told us that it was rude to play a video in public without using earphones. 🤷‍♀️
So nobody spoke up about the couple watching Netflix but I end up next to this one weirdo who has an issue with a one minute video in an open space???

I thought I had crazy stories but I can't top those! BTW my first cruise was on Epic & I loved it so much that I booked a Transatlantic on Epic - but it was my first of 7 COVID-cancelled cruises. I rebooked it for Harmony (cancelled) then Allure. That was also cancelled BUT we were moved to Wonder! So Wonder's first TA was my first TA, just a few weeks after she debuted a year ago. I loved it! I ate in the Solarium Bistro every day. My 2nd TA is this Saturday on NCL Getaway. My 3rd will be in November on Enchantment.

thanks for making me laugh today! I often think I am oblivious to things that go on around me, so next cruise, I will be paying more attention! I have noticed recently a lot of unattended small children, who are not always well behaved. We were in the windjammer and sat near a family with 3 small children. ages 1 to 5. The parents left them all at the table to go get food. It became apparent to the crew, that there was a need for supervision at this table. They went over and stayed about 10 minutes with the children, while the parents were nowhere to be found. I felt it was not safe to have children making friends with strangers so easily , even though in this situation they were perfectly safe, because maybe a different time may not be so safe.

Speaking about waiting in line, am I the bad person for doing this? Let’s say I want an extra portion of rice, which appears to be in the middle of the buffet. Should I make the whole queue to grab that spoonful of rice? Or is it ok to come 5 seconds in between two people in the line to grab this and go? Generally speaking I feel people should queue perpendicularly to the buffet item that they want. And not in parallel. This way people wait only for what they want. And NOT waiting that everyone have been in front of everything. Does that make sens?

I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship recently from port Canaveral to Bahamas summer cruise. I am a university student and was with my family and none of the passengers seemed kinda friendly :(
There are a lot of nice crew members from different countries who took care of us and that made our experience the best. When I went to the nightclub and activités i felt excluded because of my autism by most people my age when I tried talking to them about simple things😔 while everyone else was clique up getting to know everyone else they also don’t know each other either. I kinda felt a bit lonely and sad.
I also encountered some rude people too to the crew members . We still had a good time but i can certainly tell that its only the American passengers who act like this. I feel so bad for all those amazing crew members on our ship

Seems we all lost our collective potty training during the lost year of 2020. And now we all throw spit balls at each other. What is the world coming too with all this bad behavior. Do manners mean anything anymore? The hot tub picky pimple story almost made dinner make a reappearance. Re the buffet, I know when I frequented Las Vegas buffets, the expected behavior was if you wanted seconds, it was permissible and encouraged to jump in for a quick dip and then immediately get out of the line. I think it was a tactic to not have people hanging in long lines. Cruise ships may be different. Keep on keeping on

What's annoying to me is when you go to the theatre and walk the aisles appropriately and politely ask people if you can get by them to a seat they sigh, or the people behind you sigh. If people would stop taking the end seats and move into the middle instead they wouldn't have to stand a dozen times to let others pass. And the people sitting behind should choose different seating if they don't want others sitting in front of them. Passive aggressive privilege.

June of 2021 after Disney opened back up we held a Graduation party at Splitsville in Disney Springs. I was carrying a huge cake. The line to go through the security checkpoint was wrapped around at a great length.
We got in line and walked quite a distance. At one point a group of 5 people came up and completely cut the line in front of us. Completely lack of common courtesy. My husband was about to say something but I’m like- wait a second.
Since this was during Covid, I started coughing and hacking loudly. One of the cutters turned around and looked at me. I just continued hacking every now and then. Yes- the coughing and hacking were fake and I covered my mouth. But it was a nice way of saying- don’t be rude

Are you being too picky? Hell no! I just came back from a cruise on the Norwegian Pearl and I said to my husband "I'm going to message Morgan and ask him if he might address the behavior of cruise ship passengers these days". The rudeness and inconsiderate behavior we witnessed really had a negative impact on the enjoyment of our cruise. People leaving their food dishes and drink glasses on the floor of elevators; parents letting their kids run wild unattended and sometimes even when they ARE attended; adults with their bare feet up on upholstered furniture or thrown over the back of their seat; and this one was rampant....people having conversations using speakerphone on their cell phones or worse doing FACE TIME with other passengers all around them. It's called 'civility' and it needs to be resurrected.

Because of the electricity not working in our cabin we missed our reservation so had to line up on formal night ( first time going) it took forever anyway finally we get seated and the couple next to we’re beyond rude the lady was loud and obnoxious and started picking at her teeth the partner said there’s bathrooms to do that in ?? And then she gets her dental floss out and starts flossing her teeth 🤮 and he said you should go back to our room and she says I’m not going all that way up to my room . Was so disgusting and the food was awful (Symphony)

Captain Morgan! I watch your videos but I have not commented in a while but today I have to because of people's behaviour and lack of manners. In the past few years there is a degradation of people's manners and it is not very nice.
As to the commercial(s) 1 was for the Rocky Mountaineer Railroad and 2 was for the movie Blackberry
And may I add that the woman popping her better half's pimples and rinsing her hands in the hot tub water is disgusting behaviour ... no if's or but's

Hey Morgan! We still think about our Symphony transatlantic crossing and what a pleasure it was to meet you. We were on a cruise last November where we were walking about 10 feet behind a nicely dressed senior couple as we were on our way to the Diamond Lounge and they were on their way to a Mass. The man kept picking his nose and flicking his buggers onto the carpet. He did this 4 or 5 times!

Thank you for giving quite a lot of great laughts! I've seen a lot of vizarre behaviour from some people but the only place I can sere such a lot of peculiar behavioues is on a cruise ship. I think the reason for that is that a cruise is different from their time at home and so they are in a new setting and haven't "learned" how to behavior or how to handle certain events. For example, I highly dought that the who climing over the seats in a local movie theater like you described regarding that man in the ship. He hadn't "learned" how to do it yet timr, it was a "new" situation to deal with. I am sure he definitely WILL do it the reason way net time. I know that food behaviors take a while to learn (may several cruises) since at home they don't have dozens of various kinds of goods there for the taking. At home they get it off a kitchen table, or their plate is surved to them. Maybe three cruises is enouch to teach people if they do too much letting fingers where they should not roam. Anyway, keep on laughing...there are going to be continue to be "newbie" crusies to demonstrate peculiar behaviors...just so they keep away from jumping overboard or smoking in their stateroom...or even stay out on an excursion too long to back to the ship!

when covid started and everyone had to wear mask everywhere - a person in front of me at walmart was extrememly rude to the cashier. when i got up there i asked her if she thought people got ruder since the mask wearing started and she rolled her eyes and said ohhhh yes -- so maybe the rude people around still think they have a mask on and are incognito.

When Periscope was a thing there was a channel I followed devoted to RCL cruises. The experiences documented on those clips convinced me to never sail RCL and your experience has ratified my decision.
Surprisingly, we love Celebrity which is an RCL line but the clientele are worlds away from the boorish behavior you describe.
Anyway, loved the segment and hope you arrive at your final destination safely!

I’m one of those people that follows the rules on cruises and never act like the people are that Morgan is describing from his cruise in this video. If I followed the rules onboard my first cruise onboard carnival paradise back in 2013, I’ll follow them onboard my second cruise onboard Icon of the seas from Royal Caribbean soon.
