  • Down can lose its loft when feathers become clumped or contaminated from dirt, sweat and moisture.
    Here’s how to restore a down jacket’s insulating performance. A gentle wash and thorough dry is the solve.
    Use these superpowers sparingly and carefully.

    when put the puffy jacket inside the dryer, does it need to unzip the front zip??

    • @jar.n0
      @jar.n0 6 місяців тому +3

      i'd say leave it zipped. It's to prevent ripping/damage to your jacket

    And how should you wash Parkas, with goretex and dawn?

    • @srenmllerjepsen6137
      @srenmllerjepsen6137 2 місяці тому +1

      With the same type of wash ?: down wash. If you wanna reapply DWR on the Goretex, do it with a spray on the outer shell just after washing and put it in the tumble dryer 😊

    Would these instructions be the same for the Atom LT?

    • @fpdk
      @fpdk Рік тому

      Atom LT is a down jacket so yes.

    • @bostonpops33
      @bostonpops33 11 місяців тому +10

      @@fpdk Atom LT is synthetic, not down. Care is pretty much the same, but you don't have to be as precious with it as it is more durable.

      I treat my atom lt like a beater jacket. I wash it with my other clothes using all natural detergent. After 4 years, it still looks new. The key is to wash the jackets more often than not.

    • @srenmllerjepsen6137
      @srenmllerjepsen6137 2 місяці тому

      Wash it with a performance wash as you would use for a Goretex jacket. Rinse as they show in the video after washing it.

    But how to dry it without a dryer?

    • @Alfador42
      @Alfador42 Рік тому +15

      Step 1 - get a job
      Step 2 - save monies
      Step 3 - Buy dryer
      Step 4 - Use dryer to dry puffer

    • @trithemis
      @trithemis Рік тому +4

      Use your neighbour’s dryer. Money is not the reason for not having a dryer. The environment / climate is.

    • @bostonpops33
      @bostonpops33 11 місяців тому +5

      Laundromat. Air drying a down jacket is not an option.
