For marauder ants, a hybrid nest setup would be more suitable than an ant tower. A hybrid nest provides a combination of a nest and an outworld, which can be beneficial for marauder ants as they are a highly active and aggressive species. The outworld component of the hybrid nest allows for a larger foraging area for the ants to explore, while the nest component provides a secure area for the ants to retreat to and care for their brood. Additionally, marauder ants are a larger species, so they would benefit from a larger space to move around in, which a hybrid nest can provide. It is important to ensure that the hybrid nest setup has enough space for the ants to move around comfortably and that it is appropriately ventilated to prevent any issues with humidity. Overall, a hybrid nest setup would be the better choice for your marauder ants.

ikr once in my house mice broke in and we caught their whole family in mouse traps, i remember seeing the mice in the traps with their eyes wide open, and i saw them scuffle around in the woods occasionally

Well, Leviathans are typically associated with the sea. I think it would be cool to do a sea cave style terarium. Like, full on coral reef without the water kind of deal. Fake rocks could house the digging medium against the back wall of a taller glass terarium, so they can build up against it and a sheet of black paper or a removable cover of some kind so you can peek into the nest chambers. Make the facade a full panel so it will stay put instead of individually securing a cave network.

@iluvKH4eva yes, I'm in the US. Unfortunately, others have ruined the whole "only keep them as pets and don't let them loose" thing here. especially in Florida, too many people let their snakes and other reptiles go into the wild, so now they are overpopulated with a bunch of invasive reptiles. I'm sure I could find someone illegally selling them, but my kids would tell everyone I had it 🤣 we actually had a pair of African Land snails get out (I think that was also I'm Florida, I don't live there) and they literally shut the whole city down and sprayed a pesticide of some sort to kill them. If we’re excusing this artificial set up designed to get money through ads on UA-cam on the basis of it being a “natural process”, he should also be releasing animals that predate ants into his setups, so they can destroy the colony, as happens in nature.
@@ujlt7198 it's better than feeding live rodents to reptiles which risks both being injured and suffering. Rodents are also needed for injured birds of prey being nursed back to health. Humane culling is as kind as we can be to provide a food source to another species.
@A Suicune On The OBX It's pretty poor practice that they'd do they did that with the rabbits and it sounds like it was for entertainment value more than anything. Pythons and boas typically don't snap necks - they constrict by smothering their prey. Every time the prey item exhales the python constricts its coils and the prey is unable to inhale. Much kinder to feed something pre-thawed. Stunned is a last alternative in my opinion, rodents can come around and they are smart. They can inflict a lot of damage on a reptile. It's been mentioned on this channel before that no matter how hard we try we'll never fully replicate the conditions of nature. In nature a prey animal that isn't immediately caught and consumed will escape or fight for survival. In an enclosure they cannot escape and will often fight. I hate when people try to defend live feeding as natural because it absolutely isn't. A captive snake isn't going to feed just because you want it to. I gagged watching this video because I'm very familiar with the smell of uneaten rodent 🤢 it's a particular stink. Worse is a regurgitated rodent.
I know this is about the Marauders and feeding them...but I must say like every other video, I would love to find and start a colony of those amazing blue ants you found...
I don't know how is writing the scenario, but you are the TOP youtube creator if this is one man show... I will not believe, but the amount joi that you give is unimaginable. Thank you for your work! PS: If it's a team work... realy, realy good job to everyone...
This was fascinating, and really informative regarding the jobs of various ants in the colony. I hope whatever new home you design for them will still maintain a trail to the food source, as watching them is very interesting. Maybe a two level setup that keeps the alley while expanding their lower level to give them room. Would love an update on the termites.🖤🇨🇦
Well, we need a kingdom befitting the name. Some kind of underwater land fusion would be rad, like the lost city of Atlantis. Pillars, caves, mist, fog, and the opportunity to introduce a sea serpent perhaps?
For a long time I've been afraid of all insects (even butterflies) until I found your channel. Something about these tiny yet mighty girlies is so charming, especially when they look at the camera and tilt their antennae like a confused puppy. To this day, ants (and fleas) are the only insects I'm not afraid of. Their strategic *ant*ics are just so adorable and entertaining to watch!
hi antscanada! i love your videos. you sound like an excited pokemon professor and the enthusiasm is honestly catching. it genuinely warms my heart lol. i am curious to see what other ways they could be learned about in ways like this; noninvasive and nonharmful of course. they're an incredible species.
Can we just talk about how wholesome this so wholesome and welcoming? Like I've never seen a single negative comment on this channel. AC family forever
I think Majors are so import so much so that they have 3 roles of their colony 😮 -Being a crawling tank of the colony -Being the specialized food/Enemy grinder/chopper of the colony -Being sometimes a living storage That's incredible dude!
They are very bad at fight because of being slow in movements. Fast ants like black crazy, yellow crazy, white footed, etc can easily defeat one. Their main work is to cut through tough food.
I remember this one episode i saw in your channel where theres a multiple passage and one of them is full of cockroaches... How about doing the same thing with this colony that way we can also see how they hunt and i think its awesome to watch them finding and hunting food
Ahhh a self-feeding system! I will see what I can come up with. Seeing how much this colony eats at this size makes me scared for when they're a massive colony. I will need to think of feeding meats, I think!
it definitely feels gross being apart of the natural cycle when you habitate animals or insects, but i really love your empathy towards nature despite having that responsibility

Its soo cool to see the submajors helping the worker ants😀
FINALLY A FEEDING VIDEO! Don’t get me wrong your other counted is great but Feeding videos seem to make me feel better.
Bro did not even get a proper burial
I know this is about the Marauders and feeding them...but I must say like every other video, I would love to find and start a colony of those amazing blue ants you found...
I'm dying to find a colony of them, too! Or at least find a queen! I'm on it!
@AntsCanada we love you Mikey!!! Allowing and making our dreams come true thru your passion and dedication!!!
Don't get on that, honeypot ants are one of the coolest species ever you should get a colony of them.
@LegoWorf yes, honeypot ants are cool...but those blue velvet like ants were so pretty and majestic...
didnt ants canada talk to the tree in that episode or something?
Had you seen my pet baby mouse wait its that my mouse

Imagine you’re born and your job is to be the refrigerator.
Not a bad gig, if you think about it. No need to work, just grt fed until you're huge and regurgitate as needed.
Day 1 of me watching you: Eww so many ants!
Me now: IM IN LOVE WITH THEM
Edit: so proud of the ants! They have all grown up!! ❤❤
Can we take a moment of silence for the dead mouse who didn't get to enjoy life
This is absolutly terrifying and sad but who said all animals are good but still my man(or she) was a baby yo
It's dead... 😅
I don't know how is writing the scenario, but you are the TOP youtube creator if this is one man show... I will not believe, but the amount joi that you give is unimaginable. Thank you for your work! PS: If it's a team work... realy, realy good job to everyone...
Thank you so much! Just me 🥰. It's hard work, but so fulfilling! Ant love forever!
It's kind of cute seeing how excited the ants get after finding their huge new meal
8:18 I can imagine the ants
Ant 1: “HELL YEAH WE EATING GOOD TONIGHT BOYS”
Ant 2: “LESSS GOOOO”
Fr
I feel bad for the mouse
Why? It's dead. Ants gotta eat.
He can give adult rats
@@RonaldoThegreatest_footballer probably as its too big
No I mean 10 days later rat
This was fascinating, and really informative regarding the jobs of various ants in the colony. I hope whatever new home you design for them will still maintain a trail to the food source, as watching them is very interesting. Maybe a two level setup that keeps the alley while expanding their lower level to give them room.
Would love an update on the termites.🖤🇨🇦
WHY IT'S TOO CUTE😭😭

8:22 What the teacher's expect us to do, during a fire drill
Well, we need a kingdom befitting the name. Some kind of underwater land fusion would be rad, like the lost city of Atlantis. Pillars, caves, mist, fog, and the opportunity to introduce a sea serpent perhaps?
Awesome idea! 🙌 Bow.

Meanwhile, there are ants geting free rides while the others carry the meat.
Poor mouse 😭🐭.
agree

Amazing video I’m glad that ants Canada is still going good and well
“i just saw ants eat a baby mouse” “how did they do that? 🤔”
Is it just me or does it seem awesome to be an ant💀
I also had a baby mouse but passed away a week age and survived for 2 days 😢 fly high pixy.....
RIP Pixy, you'll never be forgotten❤
You should record the queen ant laying eggs
Bro that is disgusting
It's a process of life @@kainoa1244
Sleep well little mouse, your body became energy for more life
Can we just talk about how wholesome this so wholesome and welcoming? Like I've never seen a single negative comment on this channel.
AC family forever
' Which called mucle puller sup major ( pulls out frame of queen ) ' that is so funny when you show us the queen being mucle puller now 😂
I feel bad for the mouse bruh, he’s so cute and tiny and chubby
but you don’t care about the ants ?
Killing a mouse just for some ants that are just worthless??
When do you see him kill the mouse? Like us, they can die when they're born and even before.
I think Majors are so import so much so that they have 3 roles of their colony 😮
-Being a crawling tank of the colony
-Being the specialized food/Enemy grinder/chopper of the colony
-Being sometimes a living storage
That's incredible dude!
i'd say they help with organisation too considering how they lead the charge with that gravel and even moving ants sometimes.
@@poisen06 yeah, 😆 excavating some ants as well
They are very bad at fight because of being slow in movements. Fast ants like black crazy, yellow crazy, white footed, etc can easily defeat one. Their main work is to cut through tough food.
majors are like APCs
I remember this one episode i saw in your channel where theres a multiple passage and one of them is full of cockroaches... How about doing the same thing with this colony that way we can also see how they hunt and i think its awesome to watch them finding and hunting food
Ahhh a self-feeding system! I will see what I can come up with. Seeing how much this colony eats at this size makes me scared for when they're a massive colony. I will need to think of feeding meats, I think!
@@AntsCanadaAntsCanada, could you help me? I have a small weaver ant colony, what sized terarrium do I need for them?
it definitely feels gross being apart of the natural cycle when you habitate animals or insects, but i really love your empathy towards nature despite having that responsibility
I thought bro could only use materials for exp
Its great how the marauder ants are, I'm glad they are doing well. Also I think an abandoned city would be something great for the marauder ants.
MY SON NOOOO
Rip to you’re son rip 😂
Why did you do this to him 😢
It was sold dead
How many ants would it take to get rid of a 145 pound baby mouse per chance?
0:22 nah the queen gave birth to rice
