    That mizer has ran something like if ya ran it 200 days. 200,000 board feet or so since this video aired pretty impressive.. one thing I wanted to recommend for the old sawdust clean up .. my thoughts have a canvas tarp made to six feet by 24 ft made and extra reinforcement stitching lay in hallway area.. then when it's full drag the dust out to the area where ya load it by shovel. Dragging as you empty. Will save ya miles of walking with the shovel and will make a bunch of commenters happy.. I appreciate the work ethic.. your parents have raised some winners.. congrats keep them coming.

    Basswood is deceptively soft for a hardwood but it takes a sharp blade to cut it sometimes i open up the set . if the blade is dull it sort of tears and you get the stringy tags on the boards and in the block guides. You can get away with a dull blade in higher density hardwoods. I have ruined blades with the wavy cuts in Basswood more often than I like to admit . Here in iowa we get orders for nine quarter all the time.

    Awesome job ladies! Emerald, if you are sawing, is your sister filming? Who ever does the filming does an great job and you do awesome narrating the videos! Very, very informative and I need to drop a line to Wood Mizer telling them, that you ladies need to instructional videos for them as you ladies do a much better job! Just curious... what Wood Mizer mills have you guys used and a video on your likes and dislikes would be great! Thank you for you videos and doing such an amazing job with them!

      Yeah, sometimes I can talk my sisters into filming or I set up the camera.
      We started out with the lt15 and worked up from there, down the line we will upgrade to the lt70!

    Gotta get a flame thrower make fast work of that snow and it'll get a fire cranking to. And that sawdust building up best thing I found was a air compressor it was like magic being here at the house blades last longer and less wear on the belts if the sawdust gets running between it would make the tension go funny when it warmed up some. Awesome setup yall have there like ur videos

    I've sawn up Basswood here in northern Vermont. Very soft and white wood.
    Same stuff?
    I made 4x4's mostly. Customer uses it for carving.

    I imagine the Hatchet house goes through quite a lot of those Bass blanks. It looks like a popular spot. Doe they send them back to you to turn into charcoal? Keep up the good work!

    That Bass wood looks like what other smay call Basswood. If it is I think that you may find some wood carvers who would pay a good price for the Bass wood offcuts.

    So, do you ladies use a four string bass or a five string bass? I bet you'd make one heck of a good band.

    Does your ear protection double as a headset for your communication device? How does that work for you?

    • @lumbercapitallogyard
      @lumbercapitallogyard  3 роки тому +3

      Actually it’s separate, I just put my headphones over my head set. It makes the job so much easier being able to communicate with the swamper.

    I don't want to tell you girls what to do but I've been working in industrial situations and coal mines all my life your long hair on you girls is very beautiful but being around moving machinery you can't have that hair flying around all it takes is a couple of strands to get wrapped up and it'll pull your head into something you don't want to pull into the same with loose clothing it's horrible to see someone wrapped up into a machine it's absolutely horrible and I don't want to see anything happen to you two beautiful girls so please think about your hair around that machinery take care and God bless you
