I recently discovered your channel and I'm really enjoying it. It's obvious you're a hardworking guy with a big heart. I love the sense of satisfaction that comes from working with the raw materials that God provides through nature. I'm sure you can identify with that. Love the blue Ford tractor by the way! I'm currently running a Massey Ferguson 35. Both great tractors in my book. Anyway, God bless! Your channel will hit 100k before you know it. Great work.
The Outsider Thank you! To be honest I’ve never watched your channel until now...you’ve got quality content! Your little 35 is a fine machine. And yes, it is extremely satisfying work. I am blessed to be able to do it. Thanks again for the kind comment.
Driving a Ford tractor from the last century with your left hand and a camera drone from this one with your right, at the same time. Truly, you are a renaissance man.
Sweet looking slabs! Finally got my LT10 assembled and cut my first few logs. First thing I've realized... I need some type of log handling. These things are heavy.
That sure is a beautiful log. Wonderful looking slabs. Thanks so much for the mention. That red oak I milled was a monster. I hope I can find another log like it again someday. Hope you and the family are all doing well.
This highlights the difference between commercially valuable red oak and what regular people find attractive. Natural defects in wood don’t fit homogeneous commercial standards, but many people still find that defective wood attractive and worth purchasing
Oh gee whiz.. I would love to build a solid body electric guitar body from that branch root.. Wonderful grain... You have earned your viewers.. nice show, honest and true.. 👍. Glad to be among your 30,000
Im glad I found your channel. I'll need u to teach me a few things and that is some mighty nice drone footage. Dayan and I need to stop by one day and check out your set up.
Does anybody know why wood-mizer make the throat opening a upside down V like that? Seem like u could get a thicker slab a the max width if it wasn't. I could be totally wrong but I'm wondering
Wow! You've rented a helicopter for the day! Nice intro man. I like it. It really conveys the place your living nicely. It's beautiful. Also, you're running a really sharp blade there arn't you? Slicing through that red oak likes its red cedar! Also, what is the DSLR or tripod camera you're shooting with? Mine old beater has taken a few too many falls and I am beginning to look for a replacement. Thanks for the video work.
Thanks, Bus! The blade was sharp enough I guess, not new, but the log was quite green so it wasn't too tough to get through. It's actually a fairly old Canon Rebel D2. It's one I borrowed from my wife. If I had to buy another one it'd be another Canon. The brand of the tripod is Neewer. Nothing fancy, but quite solid. Thanks for the compliments.
Fall Line Ridge Cool. I’m shooting with an old Lumix that I also “borrowed” from my sister. I like basic camera for they type of work and filming I do. Great shots can be lost forever if the focus isn’t quite right. Have a good night.
Just stumbled onto your channel and now I am a new subscriber! I love the footage! Thats a beautiful piece of property! Id love to own a sawmill one day and build a barn. We have 18 acres of land and a ton of straight tall pines that would make good lumber! When you get a minute check out my channel as well! How do you like the echo saws? I run a cs-490 and she boogies!
Looks like they were quarter sawn as well. Beautiful! If you haven't already, check out "Out of the Woods". Nathan is sawing creek bank black walnut. Lots of crotch figure and beautiful. I really enjoy watching so please keep it up.
The book Mach crouch figure showed signs of 1/4 sawed special pieces you have there now the waiting game air dry, then Kiln dry, but it’ll be worth the wait
Fall Line Ridge yea, big change, very quiet here. We have some pine in higher elevations, teak everywhere, rose wood, monkey pod wood, iron wood, Pyinkado and other hardwood. You have to pre drill everything for nails. Good jointary is what is needed here. Beautiful wood grains...
I had a big red oak come down in my yard last year, and I don't know anyone with a mill so the whole thing ended up getting cut into firewood. Made me sick
Because they get big and mature they blow over. All my cutting is storm damage etc. Big trees are prone to blowing over easy the bigger they get and location.
Jim G good forestry conservation is the key to allowing younger red oaks to mature, the larger ones need to be harvested which will allow the younger ones to thrive
There was a smaller one next to this one. Now the little one has more space to grow. I try to be very selective when I cut to promote a healthy forest.
It’s great to see how well the new mill setup is working. I’m sure your back appreciates it. Always enjoy your content.👍

Cathy Garrett 😂
Your videos are easy to watch and to the point, using a beautiful simple mill you've produced some darn nice lumber
Well done man!
Darren Morrow Thank you!
I love that drone footage! What a nice piece of property you have. You are living the dream!
Steven G Thank you, Steven! We are tremendously blessed.
Another beautiful video! Can't wait to see what becomes of these slabs. Congrats on reaching 30k! Thanks
Slade Thanks!
Sweet looking slabs! Finally got my LT10 assembled and cut my first few logs. First thing I've realized... I need some type of log handling. These things are heavy.
Jeremy Thompson Cool! I think you’ll enjoy it. Yes, they are quite heavy.
That sure is a beautiful log. Wonderful looking slabs. Thanks so much for the mention. That red oak I milled was a monster. I hope I can find another log like it again someday. Hope you and the family are all doing well.
Dillons Woodworks Thanks, Mike! That oak of yours was great! We are all well here.
Excellent video, and great drone shots !!!
Love this video, lots of angles including the drone shots
Love the drone shots
This highlights the difference between commercially valuable red oak and what regular people find attractive. Natural defects in wood don’t fit homogeneous commercial standards, but many people still find that defective wood attractive and worth purchasing
Beautiful log, great drone video and of course, love the dog footage;-)
Thank you, DCon.
Nice looking red oak!
HAHA This just appeared on my feed. Y'all gotta BUNCH more lightning in your beard now!
looks like the new setup is working well for you.
B & B Forge It’s like having a new mill!
Love to see what the center of the trees look like
Oh gee whiz.. I would love to build a solid body electric guitar body from that branch root.. Wonderful grain... You have earned your viewers.. nice show, honest and true.. 👍. Glad to be among your 30,000
Jennifer WhiteWolf Thank you! Really appreciate your support.
Beautiful lumber!
Great job enjoyed that!!!
great music
Great video Wes, really great. 30k! Wow so fast, congrats. Nice wood too
Great Plains Craftsman Thanks, Tim!
Im glad I found your channel. I'll need u to teach me a few things and that is some mighty nice drone footage. Dayan and I need to stop by one day and check out your set up.
Thomas Hoffman Appreciate it. Y’all are welcome anytime.
I have been enjoying your videos....
Some day you might tell me why you like knot's ? But if not l will not ask ever again ! learned a lot .
Along with the nice figure those last two looked like they had been quarter sawed. Nice video. R
AD4MRick They really turned out great. Thank you for watching!
As always great video keep up the great work
I haven't seen the sweet dog. Oh, I just saw the dog. Beautiful wood.
Yep, she's always a highlight for me too.
Cool video!
Are those burn marks in the slabs from the blade? I can't wait to get my own mill.
Nice camera work!!
Watching this video and listening to Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin. Hey, it's a pandemic thing......
Hi I'm new to these saw mill vlogs and was wondering why everyone cuts such thick slabs? What do people use these for?
I see you've been watching Matt Cremona slabbing videos. Throwing the bucket of water on a slab really shows the grain.
bwillan First learned that trick from Nathan at Out of the Woods. Matt is awesome too. It really lets the camera pick up how nice the slabs are.
Does anybody know why wood-mizer make the throat opening a upside down V like that? Seem like u could get a thicker slab a the max width if it wasn't. I could be totally wrong but I'm wondering
Realy enjoy your videos but what was the dark marks cutting thru the last two slab? Terry
Sometimes I move the camera in the middle of a cut. It's just where the blade stays in one spot for 20 or 30 seconds. No harm done.

Also, it is 25 below zero here tonight.
Bus Huxley 27 above here and for us that’s plenty cold! 🥶
Good morning very good videos
How long does it take to dry lumber in your kiln?
Great video by the way...
Some fine wood
Next question: What did you make out of this OaK??
See you have an echo chainsaw now. How you liking it so far? Looking at the 590 timber wolf myself
Sean Wainwright I’ve been really impressed with it so far. Good running, well built, low vibration. I say go for it! I think you’ll like it.
Fall Line Ridge that’s good to hear. Everything ive read and watched says there pretty strong saws
I'd like to see your kiln and your drying process.
Nice video. Just got me a huge Lebanon cedar log. Gonna cut it tomorrow. Have you ever cut any elm? I’d like to see the grain on that log.
Justin Pitcox I haven’t. I only know of one elm on my place and I’m not willing to cut it! That log should be nice.
Lovely slabs. What has caused the black lines across them?
David Reid I have to stop milling and move the camera sometimes. The blade causes that when it sits in one spot too long. It’s not permanent.
Ahhhh, of course.
Nice birds-eye view! What was the source of the two dark crossing marks?
Jim Newell I have to leave the mill to move the camera. The blade makes those marks when it just sits there. It’s not permanent.
Awesome
Donald Trabeaux jr Thank you for watching!
How many lumber can produce in 1 hour ?
well thats not your old husqvarna chainsaw, is there a video coming on that ? i love my echo saws!
Enjoy your videos where are you located looks like the south east...

How many brushes have you had to replace when your assistant runs off with them? Great video!
Looks like they were quarter sawn as well. Beautiful! If you haven't already, check out "Out of the Woods". Nathan is sawing creek bank black walnut. Lots of crotch figure and beautiful. I really enjoy watching so please keep it up.
lake bum Thank you! I always love watching Nathan pull those walnut slabs off the mill.
The book Mach crouch figure showed signs of 1/4 sawed special pieces
you have there now the waiting game air dry, then Kiln dry, but it’ll be worth the wait
Monnie Holt Thanks! I think it will too.
to clean the saw dust of your slabs use a large drywall trial
WHAT CAUSED THE BIG DARK BARS ACROSS THE THE TRUNK , HIT NAILS ?
No, sometimes I have to leave the mill to move the camera around. The blade makes those marks as it sits there running. Nothing permanent.
T up and S. Why so thick? How much are they worth? When's the bonfire? Nice doggie. Great video.
The thicker slabs allow me to level them after they warp during the drying process and still have plenty left over. Soon on the bonfire.
incredible Red Oak
What caused the black ‘stripe’ above the limb?
Frank Cherry Sometimes I have to leave the mill to move the camera. The blade leaves that mark as it sits in one place too long. It’s not permanent.
Fall Line Ridge makes sense. It will sand out. What state are you in. Looks like where i grew up, NC. Now retired in Chiang Mai Thailand
Frank Cherry That’s quite a change in scenery. We are in Georgia.
When did you find time to learn how to fly that drone so well. LOL
Well that was some nice crotch grain and ray flecks also. Looking for to the next video.
Thank you!
What drone are you using?
TR Immortal It’s the Mavic Air. Very happy with it so far.
GREAT MUSIC!!!!
Plz don’t play anything else
Kinda blew your timeline continuity when you changed clothes at the beginning.
I had a big red oak come down in my yard last year, and I don't know anyone with a mill so the whole thing ended up getting cut into firewood. Made me sick
How about some wood working video
Novice.
way too many ads--very annoying
First
BiGRiG33 👍 🍪
And why do they want to cut those beautiful red oaks down....
@@MONNIEHOLT Exactly right,i maintain a healthy forest from this approach. People don't realize how fast trees grow if they are happy
There was a smaller one next to this one. Now the little one has more space to grow. I try to be very selective when I cut to promote a healthy forest.
To mill beautiful slabs from and choice firewood for the woodstove .
It’s great to see how well the new mill setup is working. I’m sure your back appreciates it. Always enjoy your content.👍
