Been so long since I found a drum cover with so much taste! A great drum cover. The groove is there, all your fills are spot on, you didn't mess around with the song trying to "improve" and ending up in ruining the art Gavin already created, great job seeing that it's best leaving Gavin's art as it is and just work on a different feel and an independent style. That's exactly what I love to see! Drummers who think before they start basing.
It’s 2 measures of 4/4. Which equals thirty two 16th notes. Grouped together by 3 sets of 10 notes which equals 30, plus the last 2, equals 32. This is how Gavin explained to me on drummerworld.com how he created this beat.
I just discovered this song, and I'm thinking of playing this. Do you have the drum charts (or wrote it down), if not do you think you could do a video and explane how to go with it? Many thanks!! (Oh by the way, beautiful slick playin man!!)
This song is transcribed in a book written by Gavin Harrison and Terry Branam called “Rhythmic Composition” by Hudson music. Hope that helps. Sorry for the long delay.
I play this on guitar, and always so impressed listening to the drums accompanying it. Love Gavin H so much
That was wicked good...love the groove in the verse. Playing Gavin’s parts is not easy, you did it very well.
Thank you for noticing, it was a challenge! 😎
Wow! Keep it up.. and show more from porcupine tree!
