I like a contrasting coloured bead above the float to make it easier to tell if the stop knot is at the float. Also a stop knot below the float about three foot from the swivel seems to reduce tangles, especially when casting under trees.
Instead of stop knot below the float try an anti tangle boom,I started using them a few years back and not had any tangle issues,just puts a bit of space between lead,float and trace 👍
