- The Plymouth GTX, the gentleman's muscle car. Arguably the finest and most popular #moparmuscle car on Chrysler's #bbody platform. Built from 1967-1971, the GTX came standard with the 440 Super Commando, with the optional 426 #hemi. In this video we feature some of the finest GTX's left in existence, along with some footage of these Mopars still kicking ass on the drag strip today. #dragracing. It's a viewers choice, so let us know in the comments below what YOU DECIDE!!! #mopar #carshow 1967 1968 1969 1970 1971
I bought a ‘69 GTX in 1982 for $1,750, and still have it today. I can’t wait for winter to be over so I can take it out and have some fun…
That’s awesome! You’re lucky to still have that car. Hell of an investment!!
I like the 67 the best. I just wish the hood scoops would have been functional.
Good point, thanks for sharing Tracy!!
I love the 70 the most
Thanks for chiming in Todd, the 70 is a sweet GTX!!
Dad had a 70 440-4 bbl 4 speed Super Track Pack(4.10 Dana) new, I had a 68 440 auto and a friend has a 69 Hemi 4 speed. My all-time favourite Mopar

That butterscotch 71 has a badass stripe scheme!
Agreed, thanks Todd!
1967 with 1970 a close second.

The 67 stands up as the OG of the GTX’s
67! I bought mine in 1976 (426 Hemi 4 speed), and I still have it . Waiting for spring.
A true classic, thanks for sharing!
1967 👍🇺🇸
Thanks Mike!!
I noticed a few of those cars were filmed at the Gilmore Museum in Hickory Corners, MI. MoPars At The Red Barns, a fantastic event on a beautiful property. Every car-guy needs to visit Gilmore's at least once in their lifetime!
Yes, I had the privilege to film Mopars at the Red Barns 2024 at The Gilmore Museum. What an incredible place to visit and meet so many Mopar enthusiasts. Check out my the part series on the 2024 event. Here is a link

Good Day. I bought my 1969 GTX from the original owner in 1971. 440 4V, AC, PS, PB, Auto, 323 Posi. Great Car. There weren't very many HEMI's. Rare Cars, even in production days.
You were one of the lucky ones to get one back then! Thanks for sharing Timmo
@@TheMoparChannel I've had three 440 Magnums. This was the one I liked most and the newest. Best Regards.
Loved em all but I would have say 69 had one when I got of high school as my every day car 83-86 back when you could afford the gas, I blacked out all the chrome on mine with a white body black interior black under the hood with that big orange 440 sittin there sweet, everybody wanted to race it, the good ole day's wish I still had it
Thanks for sharing Barry !!
To me, the 69 deep set tail lights make it the most unique.
Thanks for chiming in and thanks for watching Bill!
'68 & '70 are my favorites, but ANY GTX will do . Gorgeous rides, all of them (wish they were still affordable for one in decent shape - lol...)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Daniel, and thanks for watching
I should have kept the '68 GTX... and sold the wife...
As so often said
I like them all but the 71 is my favorite
Good answer, thanks for watching Mothzz!!

Cool! A pair of GTX’s is better than a savings account
69 440 gtx 4 speed best ever! My close friend bought this car in 1971 for $1600.00!!👍👍👍👍👍 I
Better investment than gold!!
In 1968 my brother bought a brand new 69 GTX super track pack 4 speed cowell induction car.
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
@ I’m almost finished building my 1972 Charger S/E it is an original Y1 top banana car with rally doors and Ramcharger hood
With a 440 (512) six pack and a strange S60 out back. Black vinyl top and bucket seats and consul with a slap stick shifter.
I like the '67 and the '69.

1970 blue with white interior GTX 440 👍
That is one sweet ride for sure!! Thanks Henry
I had a 1970 GTX and painted it brown metallic with 440 wedge
Cool!! Thanks Rick!!
Wow , had 5 69 440 4 speeds , buy them cheap back in 80 , go out run heck out of one and pick up another fresh horse , had 1 70 440 4 speed super track , wish never parted with that one , lol , nobody ever heard that before , lol, the vacuum box leaked for the air grabber , but get her up to 125 mph and the draft under the hood would open it showed that off many times , I got along with the 69 console shifter quite well better that the pistol grip , switched the 70 over to 69 shifter , had issues getting 3rd gear with the pistol grip great memories , 72 cuda now
Good memories. I love the air grabber story. Thanks James!
1970 by far the best Hemi with a pistol grip shifter 4speed 410 dana air grabber plum crazy purple
IF GOD CREATED ANYTHING BETTER,HE KEPT IT FOR HIMSELF ! 💪
I was the proud owner of a 1970 Plymouth GTX 440 v code car pistol grip for speed 410 Dana track pack 1 of I think 370 there were less automatics produced I think total production was like 700
That sounds like a bad ass ride, thanks for sharing Joe!!
67 was the best in my opinion
The OG of the GTX thanks for sharing Bill!!
My favorite is the 1970 because it doesn't look like any other GTX.
That’s a fact! Thanks Robert!
‘67 all day , every day
Thanks Iron!!
67- black/white/white got it 1870 $1000.00
First car was a 1970 GTX with a 440 and an automatic. The color was a cross between p*ss yellow and puke green. I miss it. If I ever win the lottery?????
A unique color combo indeed! I miss my first Mopar as well. Thanks for sharing Rob
As time goes by and looking back at the GTXs I prefer that square body 1967 GTX SECOND THE 19170 GTX
Funny how time changes our tastes. Thanks for sharing your perspective Donald!
1969
Thanks Richard
1970
Thanks Steve
69 GTX my dad owned one
Cool thanks Jason!!
67,had a 66 belvedere11
The precursor to the GTX, thanks Richard
i love my '66 Belvedere II because it's not as popular as the GTX and much more affordable lol
That’s fair. Thanks for watching
The 67s were the 'lightest', the 68-69s handled the best, the 70 had better seating options, and the 71s had the most luxurious yet sporty interiors. They also had a better shifter and driver position for the optional 4 speed. IMO.... I got to drive a 70 440+6 4 speed with 354s. The owner had those carbs dialed in! Amazingly docile on the street in normal driving, once you put the fun pedal down, hang on! That car pulled HARD! Styling is subjective, but i never cared for the roof line on the 67s, nor the front end on the 71s. I think the 69s might look the best, especially with Mag 500 wheels.
Great insights and observations, thanks for sharing Adam!
68
Thanks for chiming in Pat, much appreciated!!
