Johnny Cash! The original Man In Black! The Folsom Prison resident w/knife scars on his face. Who met a girl in a Christian gospel group, fell in love, became a genuine card carrying Christian, and changed the world with his music! There's a movie about his & June's life together. But he wrote so many songs that you probably know but have no idea who wrote them. HF also did a video of Johnny's "Folsom Prison Blues". 😊
And, that last Low Note is Tim🥰🔥‼️🔥 Oh, there is a new one Tim & Austin put out a Brooks & Dunn cover on Austin’s channel ( Austin Brown)…..”MY MARIA” ….. there’s a Tim surprise on it…🙃🥰👍‼️🔥. It’s pure awesomeness 🔥‼️🔥
This was the 2nd song I heard when I discovered Home Free last year. It is done in a reggae calypso beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim & Avi. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the Sing Off show Tim goes even lower & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. Also they mentioned that Tim is a true bass. Even his normal talking voice is super low. And Adam once again was stellar in his vocal percussion.
Oh man, your first-time headphones facial expressions had me rollin' over here!! 🤣🤣🤣 And yes, Tim Foust and Avi Kaplan together is a dream. Great reaction as always!
You should revisit Folsom Prison Blues with the headphones on your own time. Though you could react to the Cash version since that was another Johnny Cash cover.

Very few people have heard the original version of "(Love's) Ring of Fire." It was written by June Carter Cash to describe the experience of falling in love with Johnny, and first recorded by her sister Anita. The song went nowhere, so Johnny rearranged and recorded it a few months later. That version became the standard.

Johnny Cash was, is and will always be a LEGEND of Country Music!!! Get this, Johnny's wife, June Carter-Cash wrote the lyrics to this Award Winning song!!!
@@ABtheKreator, I believe the last, or one of the last songs 'The Man in Black' recorded was "Hurt". It seems as it usually happens, when his wife June Carter-Cash passed away his 'reasoning' for living died, too!!
Sharing again: I respect you love the group. I knew of Pentatonix from surfing the web. I didn't know about "The Sing-Off". I was bored w/ holiday re-runs/sports specials, so surfed through channels when came upon The Sing-Off the year Home Free won. I watched every single episode. I even watched when they sang & won the Sing-Off with this song. Ironically, timing plays into this; they had auditioned 3xs for this competition. They changed members after 2nd audition. I don't think it was back-to-back years. Tim & Austin joined the group before the last audition & got in. The year before Pentatonix won, so may have been forced out & not won. BTW Pentatonix was one of the ensembles that joined specifically for this competition. 3 were HS friends (Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado) sang together then went off to different colleges. One joined a college a cappella group & found out last minute about the competition. Contacted his friends ready to apply when told needed a beat boxer & bass to qualify. They met Kevin Olusola (outstanding beat boxer alien as Adam) & Avi Kaplan a bass operatic singer. Matter few days, developed a blend, auditioned & made it into competition. Rest is history winning it w/ not only outstanding vocals, but great bass & beatbox. Their UA-cam channel currently has over 19 million subscribers & 5 billion views. The group's video tribute to Daft Punk had received more than 355 million views as of November 20, 2021. That's Avi's legacy he's bringing to any work he's involved in. I love both versions but must admit I like the bass duo. There's a distinct difference between the show version & this arrangement. Chris Rupp (co-founder) was still the in the group doing both versions as baritone but doesn't have the range or ability to cover bass parts that Avi does. Later when Chance (first name is Adam use last name differentiate) can see change covers bass line gives Tim chance sing tenor and, vice versa.
NOTICE: When Tim is singing lead, Avi is covering the bass line. When Avi is singing lead, TIM is covering the bass line. Both are attempting to have the exact sound/articulation, so it sounds as one bass, not them interchanging with each other. Near the end, both Avi & Tim are singing duet with each other. Avi drops a couple of times the low note. Yes, to show off but to set up Tim's last low note moving the groups' key change. When the last low note is hit, Avi smiles & gives him a hat salute. As for Avi being in the video, it does 2 things, it gives Foust strong back up as he sings lead & also shows "both" of their ranges as Avi sings tenor too. Avi Kaplan has been for a few years an independent artist away from Pentatonix. Nowadays, Avi, Castellucci & Foust are doing side projects with other groups or on their own. My dream is to see them do a joint project. How many sound systems would crack under the force! Top 3 basses since Sing-Off fame is Tim Foust, Avi Kaplan & Geoff Castellucci. There are other capable & amazing basses, these were put into the spotlight by the show & working w/ each other. Vocal range has been "guessed" at not fully accurate as seen multiple ranges for them Tim Foust's range C1 - A5 (Home Free 4th season winner The Sing-Off) Avi Kaplan's range F#1- E♭5 (formerly Pantatonix 3rd season winner The Sing-Off) Geoff Castellucci range C1 - A5 (Voice Play 6th runner up 4th season The Sing-Off) When Home Free did this version of Ring Of Fire for the last round of The Sing-Off (minus Avi Kaplan), they were unsure how it would come across. It was a Johnny Cash standard in country music, unsure purists would hate & disavow them. It did surprisingly well, as it helped them to win that season. It also became one of their most popular songs as well boosting them into a strong social media presence performing it in concerts. I think the 'demic' helped them produce more content another surge of popularity ensued. Since the group's over 20 years, there's a vault of recorded songs w/ various members including current membership. I strongly suggest when have time to watch the videos of that year's The Sing Off & review bits of the vault. The show didn't gain the popularity as AGT. It did have knowledgeable judges & good a capella groups. I urge you to watch from first episode to last Home Free, Voiceplay & Pentonix's competitions. Timing also in that before Pentatonix & after Home Free the other winners & competitors didn't get the fame being on that show as it brought them. Filharmonics was seen on Corden's late night show. [I first started with Pentantonix loving their sound, I gravitated to Home Free splitting time with VoicePlay. Both are highly talented. VoicePlay is more theatrical tongue-in-cheek guessing influenced being in Orlando & background were stage performers @ Disney & Universal. Meanwhile Home Free is in category like The Monkees (Sunday Best, Butt Medley, 9-5) play up on that goofiness. [Re: VoicePlay most recent out is 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' which find hilarious & sounding good. Big, Bad, John, Sixteen Tons & Blackbird, Monster Mash are Geoff's creations, Superstition, Wish I Was A Rich Man, Tennessee Whiskey & Mission Impossible are some think of love.] ----------- Regarding this song: Johnny Cash's personal life couldn't have been more interesting. He was an on/off addict. His first wife was rumored to be a light-skinned Black & caused some controversy. While married, Cash toured with the Carter Family which resulted in a blossoming creative relationship with June Carter that later became romantic. Which led to marital problems with Cash's wife, Vivian Liberto having a young family. As for the song "Ring of Fire", June Carter not Cash wrote it supposedly about their "forbidden" love. He was married (1st wife) with kids, as well as, her ( 2nd husband) with kids. They divorced their spouses and married each other. They were married for over 30 years with 1 son together before Carter's death. It never was intended for Cash or June to sing this, her sister cut the record first. Then they did it as a duet for 'a' show & the rest is history. The 1963 country music hit became synonymous with the Man in Black for the rest of his career, topping the country chart for seven weeks and spawning myriad covers in Nashville & other genres over the next 50 years. It's one of the greatest hits of Cash's career, one never wrote but was about him. Lyrics: Love is a burnin' thing And it makes a fiery ring Bound by wild desire I fell into a ring of fire I fell into a burnin' ring of fire I went down, down, down And the flames went higher And it burns, burns, burns The ring of fire, the ring of fire I fell into a burnin' ring of fire I went down, down, down And the flames went higher And it burns, burns, burns The ring of fire, the ring of fire The taste of love is sweet When hearts like ours meet I fell for you like a child Oh, but the fire went wild I fell into a burnin' ring of fire I went down, down, down And the flames went higher And it burns, burns, burns The ring of fire, the ring of fire I fell into a burnin' ring of fire I went down, down, down And the flames went higher And it burns, burns, burns The ring of fire, the ring of fire And it burns, burns, burns The ring of fire, the ring of fire The ring of fire, the ring of fire The ring of fire

🤣🤣LMAO at your reaction at the beginning. Laughing so hard I got tears rolling. Avi can get two decibels lower on his Low F. But Tim has hit the same Low F, to the point he blew out the venue's speaker system on one of their live stage performances. He hid in shame for a few minutes..lol And there is another Low Bass singer you need to check, his voice will definitely make you go What the h&ll did I just hear? His name is Geoff Castelluci, and he sings mainly country; but some other types of music too.
Great reaction AB! So glad you got the headphones. I think because A Capella relies on the voices it makes the biggest difference there. I have a feeling you'll be spending a lot of time checking out your favourite music for the next few days. I was surprised myself when I got my first really good pair of headphones. Have fun.
Oh, and you should check out more Avi Kaplan, he is magnificent. My personal favorite is "Change on the Rise" For Johnny Cash, listen to Hurt, Folsom Prison Blues, Man in Black, Boy Named Sue, and Jackson (duet with wife)

They first sang this arrangement when they competed on Season 4 of The Sing-Off. I would suggest that you react to their performances on that show, preferably with the judges' comments. That is when many of us first heard them.

@@ABtheKreator, I believe the last, or one of the last songs 'The Man in Black' recorded was "Hurt". It seems as it usually happens, when his wife June Carter-Cash passed away his 'reasoning' for living died, too!!
Headphones!!! Yay. Now you have to listen to the Pentatonix vids you already covered.
Watching you experience this through headphones reminds me why I enjoy these groups so much. I can't wait to see more.
Simply amazing 🙌🏾😂🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sharing again:
I respect you love the group.
NOTICE:
When Tim is singing lead, Avi is covering the bass line.
Vocal range has been "guessed" at not fully accurate as seen multiple ranges for them
Tim Foust's range C1 - A5 (Home Free 4th season winner The Sing-Off)
Avi Kaplan's range F#1- E♭5 (formerly Pantatonix 3rd season winner The Sing-Off)
Geoff Castellucci range C1 - A5 (Voice Play 6th runner up 4th season The Sing-Off)
When Home Free did this version of Ring Of Fire for the last round of The Sing-Off (minus Avi Kaplan), they were unsure how it would come across.
Big, Bad, John, Sixteen Tons & Blackbird, Monster Mash are Geoff's creations, Superstition, Wish I Was A Rich Man, Tennessee Whiskey & Mission Impossible are some think of love.]

Regarding this song:
Johnny Cash's personal life couldn't have been more interesting.
Lyrics:
Love is a burnin' thing
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire
I fell into a burnin' ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire
I fell into a burnin' ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire
The taste of love is sweet
When hearts like ours meet
I fell for you like a child
Oh, but the fire went wild
I fell into a burnin' ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire
I fell into a burnin' ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire
The ring of fire, the ring of fire
The ring of fire
Glad you can hear better now. Thanks for your reaction

I have two words for you, "Misty Mountains"... its simply amazing. Cheers.
The guy in the black beanie is Avi, the bass from Pentatonix. The other long hair guy is Tim, the bass from Home Free. They both have incredible range!

You are a hoot and Avi and Tim is like a powder keg....BOOM
For your Voice Play, you should check out Hoist the Colors. Your ears will thank you!
That reaction was so epic 🤣🤣🤣 I’m glad you got to the headphones, I’m gonna look forward to your reactions even more now 😁
Now you need to listen to all the a capella songs you reacted to with them, just for your pleasure 😉
Oh yeah doing them all now lol 😂 thanks
Johnny Cash was one of the Original "Outlaws" of Country music!!!
I was so looking forward to your first reaction with the headphones...didn't disappoint. Love how real you are in your reactions.
Delighted you have your headphones 🎧. I enjoyed that so much. You should be on TV you just made my day 👏🤩
🙏🏾😂😱
How could you not know who the Man in Black is? Johnny Cash is the what the term Legendary was coined to describe.
That last low low note was Tim.
Ohhh wow thanks 🙏🏾
Oh my gosh, you are cute and funny. Home Free is one of my favorite groups. What they do is amazing. Talented guys that seem to be humble and appreciative for all their fans. Love from Buffalo South Carolina
So good. What a great reaction
Great reaction! And from a KC girl-love your sweatshirt!!
Ayyyy! KC all day 🙏🏾🔥🔥🔥
OMG, I love your reactions!
Love your reaction. And by looking at your hoodie you are from Kansas City.
Great reaction AB! So glad you got the headphones. I think because A Capella relies on the voices it makes the biggest difference there. I have a feeling you'll be spending a lot of time checking out your favourite music for the next few days. I was surprised myself when I got my first really good pair of headphones. Have fun.
Appreciate that and thanks
Oh, and you should check out more Avi Kaplan, he is magnificent. My personal favorite is "Change on the Rise"
For Johnny Cash, listen to Hurt, Folsom Prison Blues, Man in Black, Boy Named Sue, and Jackson (duet with wife)
Omg 😳 wow ok thank you
Fantastic reaction, so happy you finally got headphones. I would like next HF to be "Country Roads" and Elvira!
We got a few more in between HF but I’ll add to the list
Tim was the G1 low at the end but Avi set the tone!
My other favorite group. Home Free right next to VoicePlay. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Headphones in place you need to go for some more VoicePlay. Only to way appreciate Tim, Avi, and Geoffs bass.
Perfect song by them for your first "Headphone" experience!
Facts 🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥🍊🧃
You crack me up, Sir. Thank you for such a delightful video this evening. It's evening for me being up with a sick cat.
LoL... looking at your headphones was wild... hahaha... love it
They first sang this arrangement when they competed on Season 4 of The Sing-Off. I would suggest that you react to their performances on that show, preferably with the judges' comments. That is when many of us first heard them.
I’m SO GLAD you had your headphones for this!!!
Lmfao!!!! Love your Reaction brother!!!
