  • Thousands of protesters clash with police in Bashkortostan, russian federation.
Trial of local activist provokes one of largest reported demonstrations in country since Ukraine invasion. Alsynov was a leader of a group that advocated for preserving the Bashkir language and culture, and protested about limestone and gold mining operations in the region. The group, called Bashkort, was outlawed as extremist in 2020. Bashkortostan is an oil-producing region of 4.1 million people and is one of more than 80 entities that make up the Russian Federation. Indigenous peoples living in Russia have long fought for their rights and to protect their traditional territory, which is often located in areas that are used for natural resource extraction, such as mining.

What would world-wide recognition result in? The issue is to make these things country-wide (read russian-wide) recognized. Hopefully resulting in some anger, brain clarification and finally some movement against Kremlin. Knowing this?! Seriously? Never going to happen!!! These zombies have so low human life appreciation that they simply, just don't care!
Again - they just don't care!!! What they see is Father Putin, solution for all of their problems.
I wonder when people around the world will start to cope this.

Only Westerners believe these fairy tales as part of a way to cope with losing. Russia is growing, not shrinking - but then again no amount of facts in reality can change someone's beliefs if they have their heads deep up their own asses. So continue believing this if it helps you sleep. 😁

Anna, as one of the few Americans to have been to Ufa, Bashkortostan, I want to tell your viewers that the Bashkirs are a wonderful people. I truly enjoyed my short time there as a student and it heartens me to see that their spirit of independence hasn't been totally squashed by Mosckovia. As you mentioned, and I wholeheartedly agree, nations around the world should start building ties with these independent republics NOW, show them there is a future for them in the world without Mosckovia, and that they should own and benefit from the God-given resources under their own feet and not be mere vassals to a madman sending him tribute, including the blood of their own fathers, brothers, and sons. Bravo, Anna!!! 👏👏👏
You explain about us russian-occupied peoples and our situation so clearly. Not so many here in the West know or understand us as much as you do, that russia isn't the "biggest country in the world", it's the biggest geopolitical cleptomaniac in the world. Even though I'm in exile in the West, I'm still that Tatar girl who wants independence for Tatarstan, all the other countries of İdel-Ural (such as our eastern neighbours Bashkortostan) and all other russian-occupied counties. Our Bashkort friends are so fiercely tough, I admire them so much! They have shown the world what Qarşılıq (the Bashkort word for "resistance") truly is. Even when russian police forces were out to get them, the Bashkort protesters threw snowballs at the police cars. I have never loved snowball fights as much as I do now.
Let me teach you a phrase in Bashkort, which is "Alğa Bašqortostan!" (pronounced as "Alhá Bashkortostan"). That means "Forward, Bashkortostan!".

@eamonnclabby7067 I'm so glad that Ireland got its independence over 100 years ago. No, we will never forget who we are. We Tatars never forget who we are. The same goes with our Bashkort neighbours. By the way, Bashkort is the closest language to Tatar. We understand each other quite well (I have no problem understanding the Bashkort language). Bashkorts are, just like us Tatars, also Turkic and Sunni Muslim people of İdel-Ural. We have so much more in common than just our enemy (who we, together with the always so brave Ukrainians, will defeat, make sure about that).

    • @beth7935

@@eamonnclabby7067 Very true! I have a great novel that includes Irish-Americans fighting for Irish independence. Europeans sometimes get annoyed with us colonials (🇦🇺) identifying with our European heritage, & I get why, but if we acknowledge that we’re not _actually_ European, just of European heritage with pride in our awesome ancestors, I think our feelings of loyalty & connection can be valuable. Like, the Ukrainian diaspora is certainly supporting the country of their ancestors, & even my INCREDIBLY distant link (“German” ancestors, actually Jewish by DNA, from today’s Poland near the Belarus border) makes me feel a bit more connected, but of course it’s only about 1% of the reasons I care.

Heroyam slava! 💙✌💛 I'm so glad you have covered this in more detail today and brought us more clarity, Sister, thank you so much! I had seen a few posts on -Twitter- X earlier, but I often prefer your research knowledge that you do prior to creating your vlogs for us all. I'd seen a rough figure of ten thousand people there out in protest, but obviously there is usually uncertainty until we all know more for sure. I had glimpsed what the protests originally stemmed from, that arrest of -Fail- Fayil , but have to say, good for them if they also bring their own back in response to them being sent to fight in Ukraine, and rightly so! I'd seen some years ago, the wives of Tuvans being arrested for protesting against what they knew was the wrongful taking of their men to fight in Ukraine. These people, especially the indigenous ethnicities in each region there, need their men at home with them to help keep their own regions economically viable. And that would be so much better achieved if they could be their own independent nations. Collapse of russia is absolutely nothing for those original nations to be afraid of. They stand up for their own populations and would get recognised as decent independent nations making their own way in a peace-loving world. The opportunities are endless, and anything is possible. Good on them if they stand up for themselves as independently-minded nations. They are allowed to determine what their own people want, and if that is breaking away from an incredibly controlling and restrictive russia, then that would be recognised by the world.
I just skim-read the English Wikipedia page on BASHKORTOSTAN and their ethnicity/language/cultural attributes. Even looking at the changing ethnicity of their population since the 1920s to date is a real eye opener!!! Imagine if their region's production of whatever they produce, became their own to do as the pleased with, they could re-invest it into their own region, their own nation, and likely be far better off! (And living in peace!!!) Their language origins speak volumes, and what a shame we'll maybe never see it in our translation apps. I can't find it in the list on Google Translate, to see how it sounds (or ever sounded) 😢 I'm unsure if the 🔉 icon sound on Wiki-P is how it sounds? 🤷‍♀
What a loss of a culture - a public extinction that I hope they can come back from... these things, their history, are the beautiful tapestry of life on Earth! They should fight for their ancestral culture, to protect it for future generations, before it's too late! It looks like they could have far more than a 50% chance of regaining that, going by the population make-up!
No one is interested in russia... but they brought that on themselves in recent years, who'd want to learn or teach their children *anything* about such an aggressive nation!

Good morning Dear AJ ! Thanks for your comment that I discover this morning and then I translate ( more easy for me ) and read 2 pages on Wikipedia about the Bashkortostan ( The second is History of Bashkortostan ). It's really interesting. There are certainly other regions like that in russia.
What happened in Baïmak is a good beginning of revolution in my opinion, the way of the independance against this mad regime, the way of more liberty.
I wish you a very nice day Dear AJ 💙🌻❤

I found it interesting that you posted on this subject when earlier today on a different channel I was commenting about how the Russian Federation may be in danger of following the dissolution of the Soviet Union as Russia seems to be its own worse enemy. Of course should that happen Putin and his followers would probably blame the West forgetting that when you point a finger there's 3 pointing back at yourself.

Very interesting. As an American who has worked both in Africa and Russia, it is fascinating to see how a great country evolves First it must come apart and then recreate itself in a new form. The new form must repsect the desire for individual freedom but also provide economic opportunites. Economic oportunities require interaction between ministates. Not a simple process.
