Drifters must be Jove and they are harvesting bodies to search for genetic material to repair themselves, may be they screw up their own genetic material pretty bad this time.

So the Drifters aren't Jovians, even though they look very similar. Maybe the whole Jove race died (or still dying) and couldn't keep sleepers in check anymore, letting them assimilate Jove tech and harvest their bodies.

The Drifters are technically Jovians, they've split off the Jove empire early on, apparently so did the Sleepers.

Sarge Rho as I understand it, the sleepers are a jove split off group. They went into a form of kryo sleep matrix hence the name "sleepers." The drifters are these guys waking up again and they are looking for more bodies to put sleeper minds into... something like that anyway

***** umm the other day we killed a drifter with like 3-4 caracals, a thorax, and a drake... Drake got doomsday'd and caracal pilot didn't expect its high DPS lol, so we only lost 2 ships. You really don't need a lot, although they are very fast.
