Last time i ordered up a new accumulator for a true prep table, the bottom wasn't completely crimped or soldered shut. Could see daylight through it 🤣😆🤣😆🤣Such a pain to replace the evap and accumulator, can never get them to fit perfectly without screwing up the sheet metal. Good job bro. Glad to see you still rocking the facemask. No one here in Illinois seems to give a rip about safety with the covid anymore. I feel defeated wearing mine when no one else wears theirs.
I do exactly the same procedure with my manifold and the vacuum pump - pull out the contaminants while vacuuming the system. Great video Dave, thanks! Btw, you’re starting to look like Sammy Hagar with the hair... I’m starting to look like Dave Grohl... 🤣
In every vehicle I ever owned that had A/C..., I mean I plead the fifth😉 I just finished a TUC27 here in Westland. Set at #1 the evaporator coil was freezing up. Replaced the cold control and now it's behaving real nice again. Cut in is a little high, but I was told to not rewire the True evaporator fans any more🤨😠
Good stuff.. the refer man is knocked dead again. Hair cut.. no way grow it to the knees..dont be a quitter..lol. be safe have a great night brother Dave.
Have a great video. Perfect and excellent work. Your demonstration is very nice sir . Keep it up and great job 👍💪👌❤️❤️❤️❤️ I learn a lot form this video
great channel.. If a fridge is not cooling but the first 6 inches or so of the cap tube is completely icing over, where would you start? Condenser coils are clean. It worked a month ago when I plugged it in and it has been sitting off till last night..
my lucky day so much good content to see today, u, rick, Chris, awesome, thanks for the tips, work on these units a lot. and about the haircut, i feel you man, had to go bald :))
10:29 - It’s surprising to me how close you can get to that table with your fire without scorching it! 10:53 - How far in did you go with the cap-tube? Do you dip the end of it in refrigeration oil before installing like I’ve seen some guys do?
Oh sure, I keep my standalone temp probes in the air vents on my truck. Helps keep 'em from wandering off, unless I launch it too hard. I will probably never find myself replacing an evaporator in a True make up table, but at least now I have some idea what's involved.
Your like Monet with that torch Super Dave... Lol ...Send a pic of you at the end to Pelosi and she'll open every salon in California ... Lol ... good vid ...
Yeah I also abandoned the accumulator because it didn't come with my new evaporator. Also ordered a cap tube cutter. I was using the file method for cutting cap tubes. Yes to screw the new normal. Good job
Looks like it’s ready to loose a caster wheel too. My tubing cutter goes around as few times as possible, I got shit to do lol. I broke the door off my VP-85, I called Field Piece to order a replacement door and they told me no problem and shipped that day and didn’t charge me. A standup company. You need a Flobee for your hair.
I love this guy's stuff I have a question. I'm a ten year Tin knocker and recently was stolen to a new company doing service just like this. What is some really good advice? I'm older and very nervous it's like starting a new trade pretty much and I have a lot riding on this job
You dont have time to wait when you are the company. When you work for a company you have all the time in the world. Big difference hence better tools. Rock on Dave.
I just insulated the suction line, accumulator, and expansion line (past the metering device) all with 1/2” foam lineset insulation & 557 Duct tape... 2004 Silverado LoL
Hi Dave, I have a True T-15G Refrigerator and the condenser pipe insulation looks melted. Almost like black tar. It even dripped down to the water collection tray. Thoughts? Would love your opinion. You’re a very smart professional when it comes to these things. Liked and subscribed!!!
I've seen some leave the pressure on the suction line at 4psi, but you always leave it at 18psi when working with r134a. Could you please help me understand what is the correct pressure?
If there was 1 cooler mfg I despised working on in my 17+ years doing commercial refrigeration it was "True" .I have done this repair on this model more than once. R-12 & R-134a. a good tech with normal brazing skills could make the connections in the box.
How do you get the customer to go for a new coil/t-stat here in New York if the coil a leaker never would a customer go for replacement as the cost to repair/replace after all said and done (labor cost) it's really in their best interest to buy new and warranted...but more power to u
Question: on these small ass units that take charges of less than 1 lb - how do you know if you have weighed in the correct charge? My scale says 1 lb but that is the difference at my scale. There is refrigerant in my hoses and manifold - WTF chuck?
@@NorCal-refrigeration thanks man! I remember one of your tips the other day on a mini split call and that helped me quickly fix the issue love your videos
Nice job Dave! Thanks for showing all your work for us newbies.
Thanks for watching Dennis.

Paging Dr. Nor-Cal, paging Dr. Nor-Cal, you have a major surgery scheduled. Great repair Dave!
Sup skid!
Thanks Lex!
That evaporator must be taller than it looks, I kept waiting for you to set the table on 🔥
Thanks for being us along! I agree with the underground hair cutter! I need it too! Nice Job! 👍
Gave myself the buzz cut with #1 guard in the yard back in March and used the leaf blower to shake it off... grew out pretty good!
Epic
Great video. I think everyone forgot how to drive from being locked up. When i first got in my truck i felt a bit off ....lol
Very true
🎶 The UA-cam police🎶😂. Love that you played the song when you were brazing the coil.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I felt silly rolling in a dodge caravan until I parked next to an Astro van the other day, dam that thing was basically the same size.
Much longer on furlough and my Chevy Venture that has been gathering dust is about to turn into a SideJobBob Mobile!

Not had a hair cut for years, just tied back in a pony tail, meanwhile everyone else is looking like they're from the 1970's haha.
I've had one setting for my clippers and usually throw away all accessories for the last 20 years.
Lol always I'll do it with my kids sometimes say really dad. 😂😂😂😂 keep it up my man.
Ive run my temp gauge a few times out here during the hot part of summer....always nice when its 120* out and the truck AC is running 48* at idle
That is a good feeling.
Great job Dave!!!

Just be thorough and check the whole system. Multiple offenders are on most units. 🤘⚡️🤘✨✨
With that hair you definitely were skating pools in the day lol
Yep
Tony was skating pools the other day with the kids. The owner came to throw them out and saw who it was and let them keep going. Celebrity rocks😜
This guy is a true gangster. Who the hell brazes on a dinning table?:)))
Good job.you make everything look so easy
What is the size of the capillary tube did you use please and if a prep table 2 doors how can i size it
Astro van brake light illuminated, I stick my digi down the A/C vent all the time bro!
ABS module is bad. But the van runs great.
You guy's with you're fancy vacuum pump lol I don't need that just give me something that can pull down to 500 and am good ! Awesome job by the way 👏

I noticed you removed the accumulator don't you to have one on coolers and freezers ?
Hey Dave what torch tip are you using?
Does the bottom part of that fridge slide out? Like where the compressor is
I go about 90 - 95 to cool my truck down. Az is hot bro.

Awesome work there ! 👍🏻
If I had a van I would lol!
tip of the day @ 11:23 and don't burn their tables lol

I cut that suction accumulator on reach ins too. Those things tend to leak all the time.
Thank you for this great vedio
was that a customgrow intro reference?
When I replaced the evaporator I change the suction line to. No soldering in the box that way
You guys get everything to replace for me I will have to clean up and repair that evoparator
I thought you have to braze with nitrogen because of oxidation and carbon? Is it not necessary to run the nitrogen through the lines as you breeze?
21:02 yeah bro I live with the headlamp I need light in those dark corners
Can’t work with out it. Lol
I love this guy man great content bro!
Thank you
Looks like you were driving with the emergency brake on.
Abs module has loose solder connections
Is the evap coil also called an expansion coil? The gas 'expands' in the coil, it doesn't 'evaporate'. Just wondering.
Love the videos man. Keep em comin
You got your emergency brake on buddy!
No my ABS module has loose solder connections and in to busy errrrrr lazy to fix it. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂✨
Yeah Dave I do that also and also with the thermistors 🤣
Great video. Good job. Thanks

They wanted to fix it. I was trying to run away from it. Lol
What was that you cleaned while vacuuming the system?
Condenser coil
Thank you Dave I love it
ey bro i like your videos big time for sure but dont you think its highly unprofessional to braze on top of one of their dining area tables?
Hah I’m so pro I know what I’m doing. 😂🤣😂😂😂😂
Are you low on brake fluid, your pads are wore, or did you leave the parking brake on?
its a common problem with early 2000's GM products. the abs module is garbage
Yep abs module loose solder connections
Good one Dave , get a haircut hippie 😂
😂😂😂😂😂

It’s a base line then look for a 20 degree evap and compressor amps.
TRIGGERED!!!! (Brazing on their table with no protection..) :-)
Ya ya ya. ua-cam.com/video/oyDVhg-UE5o/v-deo.html
Great video's.
Buzzcut bro - go military style
Please, what kind of recovery machine do you have?
Navac
Reach in only?
First time watching your videos.
I wonder why you're driving with your brake on - see dashboard red light - usually an emergency brake indication. 😳
What are you going to weld with that big ass torch. It's like back in the 80s with the long hair.
You have to set the flame tiny.
I wouldn’t have put that much money into that cooler. That one goes to scrap cuz next week the compressors gonna fail....
right? captube already replaced, suction accumulator removed, who knows how long the compressor will last
Blinker fluid probably low 😂😂😂😷
20:07 ....HaHa, totally!
thank you My friend
That silicone is a PITA to take off.
True also told me you can get rid of the accumulator...
All right.
Hey Dave, what are your torch flow settings for the oxygen and acetylene?
5 acetylene 10 oxygen. I’ll go 20 oxygen on bigger pipe
