327 means it was probably a very early 1969 car. I have an owners manual from my Aunt’s 1969 Chevelle and it was used for the Nova and Camaro, also and does not even have the 327 engine listed. The 307 was the smallest V-8 listed. I have seen a few original Camaro’s with 327’s. It’s easy to make a 327 a 302 Just put a 283 crank in it and the shortened stroke makes it around 302. Add the 300 hp heads and solid lifters and
Z/28 cam and you have you have the better low end grunt of the 327 with the high revving ability of a 283.
