Keeping the identity of your abuser a secret is giving them power and enabling them to abuse other people. You should name them to spare other potential victims.

She is here trying to open our eyes about what can happen within our close family members, na wajinga wengine wako hapa wakiongelea her accent, si hata wa Nairobi wakienda Mombasa hurudi nai wakiongea kama wa mombasani same wa Mombasa wakikuja Nairobi? Let her be, hata nyinyi endeni America team roho chafu.

I’m from Namibia 🇳🇦 and the level of hate I’m seeing here just because of the persons accent is ‘sick’ , the issue here is not being concerned about how she speak this person is addressing an issue that touches our lives, our family and our society..of which it can happen to ANYONE..so be kind, listen cos someone you know might need your help while you out here criticizing...I’m soo proud that after all what happened she still have her voice .

Seeing such issues being addressed in Africa it gives me joy that Africa is changing really, back in days non was allowed to talk about that, it was always secret yet it could affect the child. My friend went through the same thing raped by uncle but she kept quiet and the action went on which got her addict to sex later she got HIV. Thanks to this lady coming out to open and to give parents alot of awareness to know it happens in their houses, some times

My uncles molested me for 8 years - Margaret Munga | Tuko Talks | Tuko TV
At 3 years, her seven uncles started molesting her and this continued until she was 11.This would later affect her grades and self esteem. She found herself constantly blaming God. But Margaret Munga has forgiven all that

For those commenting about her accent, let me tell you this, I used to be like them until I came to the US. You come here and you go pronouncing words the way you do back home n nobody understands you. They keep asking you excuse me, excuse me etc. so when you relocate, you must try as much as possible to pronounce words like them. So your mind stays with that pronunciation and even when you come back home your brain does not change so quickly like some nugus would like. So those nugu haters should first of all go outside of Kenya ndio mcomment. Wacheni ujinga. Wivu wacheni

Very true! I have been in the US almost twenty years and my accent definitely changed over a period of time. It’s such a gradual change, you don’t really notice it until you are having conversations and such with people from back home. My mom thinks I speak too fast and I think the opposite lol! Your brain just sort of adjusts especially when being in a foreign country for so long.

Thank you so much for sharing 🙏🏾
I can relate in many ways. My parents brought in their best friend's brother and...I hate to think about it. I never knew how to tell them because some of the "uncles" & "aunts" knew but kept quiet. They found out when I almost got married. I was also the "weird" kid throughout my school years, & often got sick. I love watching Tuko because it's teaching me to forgive and move on. Some things are extremely difficult to share because of culture, family, reputation, relationships,... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING 😊

Kenyans come out and fight this monster the child molestation, families start teaching both your kids i.e
girls and boys at the age of 4 years the importance of protecting their bodies and give the kids the voice
to talk to speak out, parents be on the vigilant watch your families, neighbours, friends etc close to your kids
hold private talks continually and be on the lookout. It always starts with the people you trust around you.

This is truly sad and the worse thing is family tend to protect these molesters it seems a pattern . It is important we teach our kids to be open and believe when they approach of abuse and believe them. protecting child molesters continues the abuse and damage to the child. Good she came out stronger , healed and found her passion many sink into depression and bad path.

What is it about us that we can't let people be themselves. I'm ashamed sometimes to be part of this community. Making a non issue such a big deal yet her story is no different. I thought by now everyone knows that family members and relatives are the most common perpetrators of rape. Once you have a child, ishi kwako na mtoto wako. Kina brothers, uncles, and cousins are a no-no...wanakuja siku moja wanaenda kwao. Just know that children are vulnerable na watu huku nje si wazuri, and your relatives and family are among those people.

This is truly a sad story and I'm so sorry for what happened to her but accent joh! With such a kind of story, her accent should be the last thing to talk about but kuongea tu ukweli, imeforciwa kuforciwa. I found myself paying more attention to the accent than the traumatizing story!

It takes a courage to come out, but reading her face expression and body language she really need a psychological help. She not yet healed and without healing she can’t moved on and live happily. She really need to talk to someone.

I love her music. It’s wonderful she can forgive but I wish she be more realistic about the situation her uncle had seven men rape her and there’s no accountability and she just acts like everything ok.
