Keeping the identity of your abuser a secret is giving them power and enabling them to abuse other people. You should name them to spare other potential victims.

I’m from Namibia 🇳🇦 and the level of hate I’m seeing here just because of the persons accent is ‘sick’ , the issue here is not being concerned about how she speak this person is addressing an issue that touches our lives, our family and our society..of which it can happen to ANYONE..so be kind, listen cos someone you know might need your help while you out here criticizing...I’m soo proud that after all what happened she still have her voice .

Seeing such issues being addressed in Africa it gives me joy that Africa is changing really, back in days non was allowed to talk about that, it was always secret yet it could affect the child. My friend went through the same thing raped by uncle but she kept quiet and the action went on which got her addict to sex later she got HIV. Thanks to this lady coming out to open and to give parents alot of awareness to know it happens in their houses, some times

For those commenting about her accent, let me tell you this, I used to be like them until I came to the US. You come here and you go pronouncing words the way you do back home n nobody understands you. They keep asking you excuse me, excuse me etc. so when you relocate, you must try as much as possible to pronounce words like them. So your mind stays with that pronunciation and even when you come back home your brain does not change so quickly like some nugus would like. So those nugu haters should first of all go outside of Kenya ndio mcomment. Wacheni ujinga. Wivu wacheni
Very true! I have been in the US almost twenty years and my accent definitely changed over a period of time. It’s such a gradual change, you don’t really notice it until you are having conversations and such with people from back home. My mom thinks I speak too fast and I think the opposite lol! Your brain just sort of adjusts especially when being in a foreign country for so long.
Thank you so much for sharing 🙏🏾 I can relate in many ways. My parents brought in their best friend's brother and...I hate to think about it. I never knew how to tell them because some of the "uncles" & "aunts" knew but kept quiet. They found out when I almost got married. I was also the "weird" kid throughout my school years, & often got sick. I love watching Tuko because it's teaching me to forgive and move on. It always starts with the people you trust around you.
