I’m glad you made a friend on the trail. Bigfoot seems like a really cool hiking partner.
He sounds German. Is he German? IF you told us, I missed it!
@agilegold from Holland he said in an earlier vid
Frozen, you are a pleasure to watch. Thanks for sharing your hike. I hope we see BigFoot again . Take care
Your positive attitude, outlook and your flexibility with whatever the trail has in store will inevitably lead to your success. Thank you for bringing us along on your thru hike!
The algorithm wouldn’t make it out of Georgia.
Enjoying sharing the journey. Your smile and joy is contagious.
It really shows how much you are enjoying the PCT. Keep up the great work.
The more the miles the bigger the smiles. Travel on.
I love that you share the joy of being on PCT. I have become disenchanted with a couple of hikers that I used to like dissing the PCT compared to AT. Maybe its an East Coast thing to do.
I don’t understand the folks that like the AT over the PCT. The grand views are few and far between and the hiking isn’t as good IMO, due to the steeper grade.
I don’t hate the AT by any stretch, but it’s not a trail that’s clearly better than the PCT. I don’t think the PCT is better than the AT, either. They’re different experiences for sure. I think the AT is more supportive of the lazy hiker, due to all the slack packing opportunities and frequency of town stops to resupply in. The PCT is more of a wilderness experience due to the longer food caries.
@@andymytysMy issue is with AT hikers bemoaning the lack of “community”, the prices, lack of trail magic. They fail to recognize that the PCT goes thru more remote areas which makes it less accessible to non serious hikers and there are fewer “hiker towns”.
@@susanb4481 CA is expensive relative to other places in the US. It always has been. There’s plenty of community along the PCT, as well as trail magic. The difference is that both are more traditional in their presentation and out of sync with what the AT experience has become.
Trail magic, for example, has gotten way out of hand on the southern AT. It’s not “magic,” as much as expected hand-outs from food trucks along the way. The modern AT hiker will talk about “embracing the suck.” They have no idea. They have cell signal all over the place and are able to call in a shuttle to meet them at an out of the way forest road crossing at a specific time, be driven into town, and pay to have a slack-pack option. Modern AT hikers don’t understand they they’re really not participating in a traditional AT experience. It’s something new. They have the option of bypassing the traditional wilderness experience and just linking a bunch of supported dayhikes together. The people who are interested in taking this approach to hiking the AT are the same ones doing the bemoaning.

Really enjoying this. Grew up in SoCal. Love Big Bear!!!
Hiking through a pine forest is awesome!!
16:56 as @SchillBrothersOutdoors says, everyone hates on the camp chair until you sit in it, people can hate on the air pump, but you have shown it’s pretty sweet!
There's a lot of people including Bigfoot that is using one.
Comment for the algorithm 🎉
I enjoy your positive morning attitude every morning!
Way to go, Frozen! You and Bigfoot are great hikers.
That burger definitely made me hungry!
In January I hiked that area of the PCT and Cougar Crest Trail! I remember thinking that day "Frozen will be here later this year!"
I sat on that bench to Bigfoot's right at 7:58!
I started my backpacking journey in 2019/2020 from Pittsburgh. Raccoon Creek was my very first overnight! Your videos inspired me then and now. I live in Vegas now so it's amazing outdoors but I miss the deciduous trees of the northeast. Hike safe.
Awesome on the AT .... Even better on the PCT ... Looking forward to see you in the Sierras.
Thank you!
I’m so happy for you and so proud of you for taking on this outdoor adventure! Been here since 2017! You are such a breath of fresh air. Such wholesome content! Wishing you the best!! 🌄
Love that you hit a happy place!
Drinking hot coffee and enjoying my dog with Frozen this morning.
I'm excited to see each of your videos and especially excited to see you at Kennedy Meadows and through the Sierras, At any rate safe and happy hiking, every inch of the way!
Enjoying the series, watching every video. Mountains are awesome, miss them so much. First visit to the Canadian Rockies and i was hooked.
You're doing great enjoy the trek
Really enjoying this series. You seem relaxed and happy, even when you're tired. Keep it up. Watching from Butler PA.
I SO look forward to your videos every other day! You have a wonderful and contagious spirit of joy and authenticity that come through beautifully in your videos. Keep em coming Frozen!
I'm so glad you got to experience my 2 favorite places to eat at Big Bear, Grizzly Manor for breakfast and Murray's Saloon for great burgers and my favorite steak on the mountain!
Nice hiking buddy
Thank you for your videos. Take care!
Just found your channel. Loving it. ❤
The food is looking good. I wish Big Foot was going to stay with you all the way. He sounds like a good guy. Keep on walking.
Love your gratitude. Videos are getting better and better. Appreciate your editing skills.
These videos are so fun to watch! Your joy is contagious!
My son is maybe a week behind you and it’s wonderful seeing the trail through your eyes!
I look forward to every post and loved your AT videos. Living vicariously through your adventures recovering from a tibia plateau fracture and still having a “limpy leg”
Been here since your skull cap days! Hike on my man. Love from Sewickley
Grew up near Big Bear. Beautiful area to explore.
Enjoying the hike along Frozen.👍
Damn, how tall is big foot!!!!!
Another for the algorithm! So enjoying your journey.
I have been following your channel since the times of when you did the AT. Me and my family are watching your journey at the PCT, we love watching your videos together while we have dinner. 😊 thank you for sharing your journey.
You're looking very happy out there! 🐻🌲
Our channel only has about 300 or so subscribers. Oh well. It's fun anyway. Yes, we agree. Reading the comments is awesome. I was really encouraged by them when I was on the PCT. I learned how to edit videos from you on a Kinemaster video that you put out. Thank you. I wish I would have videoed 40 years ago. Wow that would have been good.
So good to see you enjoying this hike so much.
Just started following you from Australia, looking forward to catching up and watching the rest of your hike.
Every time you post, it makes me want to go out and do the PCT more. Keep it up!
I’m really enjoying these episodes! thank you
Hey Jason, know what you mean about sleep pad having a slow leak, nothing like waking up at 3am and having to reinflate. Lots of fun having to scootch off pad inside a small tent. Looks like you're eating up the miles, at this rate barring any setbacks you'll be done in no time!
Love your vidios Frozen.. you're such an inspiration. Happy to meet Big Foot. Enjoy and be safe.
Enjoying your journey
Bigfoot seems to be a very large human.
Topo ultraventure pros. I think you will enjoy the shoes a little bit better. There’s a little bit more cushion. And they also have a rock plate. I am on my 4th pair. And they have been very durable. I use them for hiking and work.
Yessssssss
You exude joy even though not every day is a great day! What a Dad! Your son will never forget this birthday! Glad you've found a nice hiking partner - makes the journey all that more enjoyable. Question - will you use the air pump if you come into camp late when others are already in their tents? Just curious if you have another method of inflating? I've debated whether to get one of those. Happy Birthday to your son and Happy Trails to you!
You’re killing it bud. Great job!
You rock!!!
Bigfoot is giant man haha... Or is just Frozen that's really short 😆. Love your videos man! You're huge inspiration!
I think both lol
That campsite looks awesome!
not sure if i wrote it last time, but the friday health updates are a good idea to me
Keep smiling!
I look forward to each episode. Just want to be on trail even more! Keep it up!
Hiking with a happiness. The way it should be. Beautiful trail.
I've been watching your videos for years and was pumped to see you on another thru-hike. I'm glad to see you made a friend on trail. You may have said, but has Bigfoot done any other thru-hikes? Enjoy the rest of your adventure!
more awesome days on the trail.. kinda funny to see this stuff in between/ (anyone else reading this will find out what i mean soon enough hahah) glad you had great weather and looks like bigfoot is a really fun hiking partner thanks for sharing... /being on a pc with a real keyboard i like leaving comments for the algorithm, it's easy... i know you dont have time to reply but hitting that like or heart button on the comments helps too....
So cool have a great time with your son!!
Thanks Frozen for these wonderful videos. I’m particularly interested when you show your logistics, stop overs with places to eat and stay and resupply as I am from the UK and re supplies/whereare one of my biggest concerns/challenges. Awesome views, I can’t wait for my turn 😊
Loving this series, keep it up, wishing you luck on your miles to come!
Now that's a burger!
Great video Frozen! You're an inspiration!
You’re killing it!!!
Bigfoot seems like a fun guy to hang with! I am glad you were able to find the pin hole in your mat. Hike on and be safe!
Thanks for always sharing your hikes Frozen. We share similar reasons for how we got into hiking. You have been an inspiration and teacher with your channel and everything you do. I am now taking inexperienced hikers on adventures teaching them what I have learned from you. I can’t wait to continue following you on this journey.
Thank you Jason, for doing your hiking videos! The PCT trail looks awesome. The Big Bear Lake Burger looked so good. I'm glad your finding friends to hike with ya! "Bigfoot" looks like a really awesome guy! Please take care of yourself, and be sure to wish your son a "Happy Birthday!" from me. I'll continue to pray for your safety out on the trail. Take care my friend, and God bless you!
Hi Frozen! First time commenting, but I’ve been watching your videos since 2017. I’m also AT class of 2019. My daughter and I thru hiked (Peaches and Woodstock), and it was the experience of a lifetime. Stay safe and savor every moment.
Loving this hike
Trying to do my part for the algo, Loving this journey!
Great videos. PCT is definitely on my bucket list! Good luck and gods speed.
That bad country hunger is for real.😂 that burger looks fantastic.❤
So nice to see many different views of the trail and information about stops along the way. Super happy for you and your health status! Love your energy and perspective!
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing your hike with us. I've been in Germany for the past three years with very few opportunities for overnight backpacking, but you've inspired me to start day hiking on the weekends again.
I wish you all the best on the rest of your hike!
Glad to see you
Glad you found the leak! I was actually wondering how you’ve been doing with the big switch up from hammock to tent. I know you’ve spent a good bit of time in the plex prior to the trip but it’s definitely different having to sleep every night and hoping to get rest when you can’t get comfortable. I just hope it’s all working out well. Keep on trucking
Loving the journey!
Love these videos! Seeing your joy just makes me happy too! Thank you for sharing this adventure!
Thank you for sharing your journey with us.. Can't tell you how much I'm enjoying the scenery and feeling what its like to be there. Be kind
Your tent set-up routine is right on. Back corners/pole/front corners. That deserves a "how to" bit on a vid. I do same with a duplex. Back corners/front pole/back pole/front corners.
Looking forward to following you on this adventure!
Enjoying this outdoor adventure as much as I enjoyed the AT, Frozen! It’s been getting to know Big Foot as well! Y’all take care!
I realize you’ve already been home and are back out on the trail by now, but I hope you catch back up to Bigfoot at some point soon. Looks like you guys have a good time together.
Looks like it was a great stop!
So glad you mentioned the YT algorithm needed to not only like, subscribe, and comment. I didn't remember the "comment" part! So I'm going back to comment on all your episodes. I usually watch your vlogs on my TV and I'm not sure I can post comments via my TV. Thanks for that heads up. Does the comment have to be a certain lenght?
👍
Definitely, I'll stop by Murray's on my mountain drive in the area!
