My dad bought a Silver Shadow LWB with the glass division in 1971.He listened to classical music in the front I listened to rock in the back. Two radios and a glass partition was perfect.
Mr. Sala, it is a real pleasure to accompany you on these visits to this rare and spectacular collection, not only for the wonderful specimens of Silver Shadow in various versions, but for feeling how truly you know and love them. Looking at this new generation I feel like we are the last males on earth! Congratulations and greetings from Brazil.
I must admit that the "green" coupe is the star 🌟of this particular video. The coupes have more pronounced flowing lines going towards the rear fenders. So gorgeous are all your collections of fine automobiles. Thanks for sharing your treasury. BP
the 1981 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit in Garnet is my favorite. I love Plum as a shade/color and i never realized that Garnet was that such shade until i started watching this channel. I'm a huge fan of the 1981-1984 RR Silver Spirit/Spurs. They seem to be the most unloved and to me they represent a new era in RR history. Love these walking tours.
@@roddsala4626 Rodd, you mentioned in your video that you have a "soft spot" for these earlier cars. Can you digress and explain the reasoning behind your love for them? I'm truly interested.
@@klwthe3rd because they represent the “understated elegance” of the era. You have the sedan built in reasonable quantity and then you have the convertible which is rather flamboyant, and then you have the Fixed Head Coupe built in minimal numbers that speaks “quietly and reservedly superb”.
Rodd, this is a superb showing of some of the most elegant carriages ever built and I just pictured myself riding in them and it didn't matter whether it was the front or the back. Thanks for allowing us into your well preserved showcase of luxury offerings.
Can't imagine anywhere else in the world having a nicer or better collection of these vehicles. I love the FHC. I unfortunately had to pass up the offer of an FHC a couple of years ago due to other car related commitments. Would still like to own one as a real keeper.
At 2:40 is my idea of what a RR should be: very beautiful, ultra luxurious, outstanding quality and finish. Exclusive, restrained and certainly not gaudy, unlike most of the later and especially recent and current models.
A high-quality cloth upholster offered luxurious seating AND it was much more breathable than leather upholstery. Leather was easier to clean and was less susceptible to the wet or to grime the chauffeur/mechanic had to deal with along the way.
Fantastic clear video, fabulous cars as always. You have a soft spot for early SZ models. Any reason ? I hds a black sz 1981 model. Your cars are all Stunning
Great video. What I will never understand is why people buy such a glorious piece of automotive machinery - and not drive them! It’s so hard for me to grasp an auto from the 70s with such low mileage. Did the owner purchase a Rolls-Royce just to look at it? Ridiculous! The pleasure in these cars is driving them.
I like the Shadow l ,ll with the shape seems to be tireless No doubt the newer variants, are more powerful and better handling etc You have a nice selection there✅ Take care with the dreaded Covid Virus 🦠
At 5:25 into this particular video, I believe I can see a Gold with White top Ford LTD / Galaxy sedan, possibly 1971 ?. Is or was this Ford sedan for sale. Just curious.
And, hiding in the corner, an early seventies model Ford LTD. Could this be an example of the Taoist Yin and Yang concept of dualism, where yin elements can contain certain parts of yang, and yang can have some components of yin?
How do you move the cars about? I mean what if somebody wanted to test drive one, what would you do? My guess it would have to be a definite sale for all the trouble.
Beautiful cars best car in the world shame they all have the stupid bumpers on them ruins the look I'm from UK and used to seeing them normal not like diving boards
I own 2 Rolls Royces...California Condition Low Miles...1976 Silver Shadow 2 Long Wheel Base & 1967 Silver Cloud 3...Bot In Mint Condition And Garaged.

'Totally agree, by far the "green" coupé is indeed the star ;-).

There is an interest revival in these early cars going on right now. I think in a few years we’ll look back and be surprised.

As usual, Rodd, all beautiful cars but like you I’m partial to the “green” two door HJM
Amazing museum ❤❤

When I was a teenager I would walk , almost 4 miles to the Rolls Royce dealership in philadelphia just to look through the window. F.C. Kerbeck.
Beautiful cars !
one day I'll have a garage full of RR and Bentleys hopefully 😃👍👍

They are true works of mechanical art
they are lovely sir 'm surprised they passed emissions back then
On most of these they didn’t have emissions tests?

Are the cars on display in that room (museum) are for sale or you keep them for your collection?

As much as I agree, however the large rubber and chrome bumpers became standard on the Silver Shadow II at “home” as well.
