Thank you Leila for this introduction. Can help learn and understand complex DAX better, but I personally feel that, one has to manually learn and apply technology and use such tools for occasional quick solutions and enhancements, rather than as a substitute for the joy of understanding and applying by self...
"AI" is beyond ... waaaaaaaay beyond, my pay grade at the moment. Nonetheless ... taking a peek into the future with you is always thought provoking ... and always appreciated. Thank you ... thank you ... thank you ... 😍😍😍
Thanks for the demo Leila. The upside is that more people will start using Power Bi. The downside is that fewer people will actually understand what they are doing, or trying to do. The "smarter" that our apps and devices become, the "dumme??" the user become. My 10 year old ephew can use a calculator to multiply but is clueless to do so with a pencil and paper.
The calculator is an interesting example. I would probably struggle to do long division on paper but would argue that skill is pretty much useless at this point. But I agree the user is being given more & more interfaces between him & the computer, which has its downsides.
Exactly my thoughts. There will be some benefits, for sure, but I can't stop thinking about how AI is taking over the one thing that excites me - getting to solutions by myself. The process (in my case) is what motivates me...
Dear Leila Thank you for an inspirational and well documented video, have not tried the AI tool yet, but see it as a great help. And for the question, will AI make learning obsolete? - that will be a big mistake leading to trust everything we see.
as a beginner in learning DAX, should I try this open AI feature? or go through the "harder" way first? 😅 oh yes.. I purchased your DAX and Power BI course and going to start my Power BI journey
Try it but use it to actually learn the DAX patterns it suggests, and not to try to avoid doing your work. Best use is when you don’t know how to solve a problem, it are pretty sure it’s possible. A If you start with very simple examples, you can Google the key functions and actually learn what the chatbot is suggesting and learn to apply it to your actual work situation. Always reference actual documentation online and actually learn DAX. Remember, ChatGPT doesn’t actually understand what it’s doing, it’s just suggesting the most likely solution based on the words in your prompt, so it will sometimes get things wrong.
Thank you for this video! Can you do a training on how to filter/do a pivot table on a survey with multiple response option so that you can filter on the response to see what question is associated with it? Been working on this for days!
Seems just as complicated as learning DAX with the added problem that it may or may not give us the results what we want. Once we learn to code things its a lot simpler to write out the code than to go through hoops learning the intricacies of this AI feature.
hello, thanks for your vedio it really helpful;however I just notice on somthing that unnoyed you: DAX the quick measure is using 'sales' tabel the reason the use this incase if there is similare column name in other table it make a confusion to power bi.
i disagree i think this function is amazing! if you give it more context like telling it where the column are located and giving it more context it would give you the correct answer. With chat gpt i managed to get extremyle complicated measures, without it i could not get them in a lifetime
Hello, I have a question In excel 2021, the Khmer font in work sheet is pretty normal, but when I go to print the khmer font is cut off above. So what can i do?
I am running into the following error when trying to pivot a table in Power BI. Any idea what might be causing this and how to fix it? Thanks Expression.Error: There weren't enough elements in the enumeration to complete the operation. Details: [List]
I feel like AI is being forced into use cases it isn't good at. I equate it to rolling dice. If you aren't sure what restaurant or what menu item you want to eat, rolling dice is fine, it could lead to trying new food that you might enjoy, but if you're trying to generate an expense report, you don't roll dice to get your numbers. With AI, if you're trying to come up with a fictional story, it can give great ideas, but it's not so good at generating factual information.
Hello, I want to filter my table, choose only rows that in a [colonne comment] text contains a substring "test". With DAX Filter(my table, contains ([colonne comment],"test")). This function give me an error. Could you please help me to fix it. Thanks in advance
Hello Leila ... I hope you are in good health ... plz if can answer me bout this question ... I have one client have windows 10 and office 2016 word documents after he saved the file ... on the D part .. then shut down the Pc ... when open the computer the file disappeared from the computer ... :( ... this every day ... and now he saves all file on an external drive
Is it just me or does it appear that all this AI is not really that helpful at all - you basically spend just as much time figuring out how to spoon feed it data OR you have to so thoroughly review what it created to ensure it is correct that it's not a replacement for knowing how to do it yourself.
I'd be more worried about peeps who use it to write code they don't understand, and especially with Dax that can be a problem for the user's. For the Dev fixing these none coder pieces is going to be a fun time :(
Human learning of computer sandbox play as an education path to employment is now archaic. Probably as unnecessary as being able to work a cash register at retail jobs. If a computer can do this dreary thinking burnout work, I think it's a big win for humans. Who wants to do this computational garbage? No one, except the generations who were told "to get a good job, get a good education". That slogan was BS fifty years ago and it's even more BS today. Finally we can see the fruits of alien technologies that have been unseen since the 1940s. Jobs, in general , are a lost 20th century diversion for the masses. Let's all get back to dreaming, breathing, and living. Work is for robots.
If you're already wealthy enough to retire now, great, otherwise there will be no utopia for you. The best case scenario is that after a lot of hardship and civil unrest, governments eventually put everyone on a universal BASIC income, and we'll all get live a life of relative hardship and stunted freedoms. The profits from increased profit margins will be pocketed by those at the top of the corporations, and the disparity between the rich and poor will be greater than anything we've known. (And no, governments won't be able to force them distribute their profits through the population, they can't even get them to pay their taxes properly.)
Hm. Yet again I find myself asking, "who" is benefitting from this? This "helper" requires a lot of my effort for scant / no material efficiency gain in my coding work. That's because this is really about teaching a machine how to replace me.
Hi Leila, Good evening. A co-worker left the company and now I need to edit an APP that he is the owner of. I have to revise a few measures but I am not able to edit them. Options to download, etc are greyed out. Is there any solution to this case? Is there any application that I can use ?
Madem, Some Problem on issue of formula please suggest me how to use in filter formula with hyperlink dynamically. Suppose When we Search formula ( =Filter(isnumber(Search())) this formula using but I want use when we search something on data in this table suddenly come with filter with hyperlink. Please Humbly Request solution we trying since 6 month but some issue facing. Please Suggest Madem 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👈👈👈👈👈👈

ROW CONTEXT, FILTER CONTEXT, CONTEXT TRANSITION, that's it!
learn THIS first in DAX, everything else falls where it should.
Never noticed this Quick measure is having such wonderful things, thank you for sharing

The best teacher in the World ❤. From Marocco, many thanks for all your videos.
Thank You! ❣️
I really love your videos . Thank you so much they help a lot to me as i'm currently trying to learn using power bi ☺
Awesome presentation! I LOVE the added animation! Will help me immensely..
excellent work. fantastic. learned a lot. thanks
Thanks for posting this Video

I would suggest learning the old fashioned way. Your future value will grow exponentially if you do...
Without knowing DAX you won’t know if the answer you’re getting is correct or how to tweak it, so it’s probably still worth it at this point

Can it also comment out the dax code that it generates?
really great
Mashaa Allah, quite OK
This is a great innovation that will democratize Power BI and empower a new class of users. Fantastic! Thanks.
It needs to be smarter, needs improvement and if that is taken care by Microsoft it will be great
Hey Leila! What do you think of the new Bing update for Windows 11? Does it work? Is it safe? I trust your opinion.

Hi Mam, in google sheet i want to replace - to zero what will the formula other ctrl+h. i am doing vlookup its coming - only
solution in perpetuity
It's time to F5 my brain 🧠🧠
If it's AI, then it will learn and get better with time.
I think Product team released this just to meet their targets while doing not proper QA :)
Is this feature available for Power BI free?
Power bi is only one that is free application there no paid application
Powerbi desktop is a free to download app, so yes, there is also powerbi pro and premium that have a lot of extra features and those are paid
B A N A N A S !

Yes, it is just you. 😊
It's same as everything
The more you use it, the more you are used to it
And the more you can take ownership of it
It's just the beginning. Wait for it. In 2-3 years AI will do 90% of this.
It’s just you

BTW why is difficult level emoji so angry?
Because that's how DAX makes you feel most of the time 😅
