I'm an adult self learner, who's working on ambient tracks in a DAW. Right now I'm using a music theory plugin (scaler 2) which lays down my bars and progression, this vid was really helpful. subbed.
Jason great video as always. I started ear training pretty late despite hearing over and over that I can't do it.. well I would not say I have done it yet. But progressed a lot... I can identify the chord qualities whenever it's being in isolation. Even if there are some borrowed chords . But I am still struggling with it when I am trying to figure out chords in a song. With an instrument it's easy for me. But not if I sit without the instrument as a reference. Sometimes even simple chords like major and minor triads become difficult. I guess it's a process and I have to wait more.
Merci beaucoup for this. I never learned to play well with others, I have never harmonized with anyone, and I don't have music in my head. So I have to learn after my retirement. Singing the bass note was the most important tip you gave. I looked on my app and found that I was much closer than I've been doing for the last weeks. This is going to be my homework for the next several years.
This lesson was soo informative for me, I learned to play by ear first so giving me this lesson on how to determine which chords to use , by just knowing the key your in!😮😊❤ thank you!
Your videos are very informative and useful. It will also help if you specify sequence in all playlist for people who can not afford to subscribe to your lectures. However, whole hearted blessings to you for your wonderful videos and gesture of putting your knowledge for others to absorb. Also take care of your health 🙏🙏🙏🙏
It's absolutely okay. But, UA-cam still pulls it or demonetizes... And let's you appeal to fix. Plus there are companies out there that scan the audio and report you for a bounty to the rights holder. There is still the exception for education in Copyright law, but most don't care because there is no penalty for being wrong about protected content.
i think when you told that to listen to the landing note and then choose from the three chords. isn't that the hardest thing to do? i mean I think it is more easier to judge the chord then a particular note. i want to clear my doubts. save me jason!
I download almost all your UA-cam videos to learn and practice later on my laptop. Does UA-cam reward your channel when subscribers do this? I hope UA-cam pays you for every video that's downloaded by your subscribers or visitors.

You have licence to play all songs in a teaching environment, so not just playing songs, but using them to teach, as far as I know it’s universal

That’s my new email address. Thank you.
can you play a 10th comfortably?
Only from White to White. White to Black is tricky and Black to White is impossible!
why does u tube take down your video because you incorporate part of a song in your teaching chords?
That's what they do! Unless you keep the length down to a specific amount. Haven't tried it through
You da boss
