finally, got the concept right for accompaniment, chords and strategy for playing it the right way that sounds best. Thanks a ton, Jason! The worm diagram concept and the chord circle thing was what cleared everything in one shot. Great teaching!
Probably the best piano lesson on UA-cam by the best teacher on UA-cam. I have learnt more in this one lesson than I have after watching hours of other videos. Thank you Jason.
Excellent teacher you are.Well articulated teaching and covered all important points in one lesson so nicely without any boredom . Must watch video even for advanced players.
Sir, the way importance of inversions is explained is really very helpful. Moreover I have become a fan of the words/ language used to explain the essence what you want to convey. Very useful video for beginners.
Dear Jason , I admire you in whatever you teach us. You are a master , and I salute you. Please, do not use the term "Neat round circle " A circle is round.
A lesson, everybody wanting to play the piano should watch and internalize - it might save from months & years of struggle. Maybe there is a similar lesson or concept for 7th cords Jason😊😊😊? Thanks anyway - best piano teacher. Wish he was around my corner.
I know this is not the focus of this video and I hope you don’t take offense to my noticing, but you look so healthy compared to videos from years ago. I’m motivated to stay consistent on my weight loss journey etc. by watching you 😅
That's so awesome to hear 😊 Yeah! Getting healthier surely helps with everything you do on the Piano and at life in general. Both physically and mentally! Will keep at it! And more power to you 💪🏽
thank you for this incredible video, you are helping a magnitude. But on another topic i would like to ask, when improvising do you pick a random chord progression and play over it, essentially what are you thinking when improvising?
If there is a chord progression, I'm thinking of chord tones to play over and also to associate a scale or mode to each chord. Or else, when all fails, just go with the Pentatonic and Blues scales. You might want to check this lesson out on Improvisation - ua-cam.com/video/ND0N9nmYmnE/v-deo.html
Jason, I think you should consider teaching us the magic stuff you do between the chords to make the music sound so good and not boring like we play. 1,2,3,4 switch to the next chord play 1,2,3,4...BORING. We need the secret sauce.

When selecting an inversion, do you consider the top note and whether the singer is singing that note? Do you want the melody note on top or do you want to avoid it?
Depends on a lot of factors. Sometimes I want a different note other than what the singer is performing. However, sometimes I want the chords to move smoothly into each other. Sometimes, It's just very tough to play those chords so inversions help simplify the process
Thank you, and thank you SO SO much for the high quality content you share for FREE. I really truly appreciate your balance of artistry and soul + technique and theory. You are awesome 🤩
Jason, I like the second inversion also. This is good practice. I am now going to take the time to learn all 12 keys. I have procrastinated long enough. I know about half of them. Thanks for this lecture.

I’m a guitar player . When I hear a guitar solo in a key sometimes there are notes in that solo that are not in the key . What are those notes called?
Hi James. Those are passing notes or chromatic notes which are based around a few chord concepts like secondary chords or borrowed chords
Hi Jason , the link for notes @ $5 is sold out. How can I subscribe?
Hi Franklin! Just opened it out. Can you please check now: www.patreon.com/jasonzac

Is spread voicing not the same as drop 2?
Don't think so. Drop 2 used seventh chords. This can be done with simple triads
DAM FAM, BIG UPS BLA BLA BLA BLA, JA MAN
