These are the best ideas for practicing the patterns and inversions to get them in your memory musically that I have seen and I just spent an hour and a half making huge strides. Thank you so much !! I’ve been looking for lessons like this to help me practice without getting bored, and this nailed it
Best piano lesson I've found after months of trying out different videos. So much in this one lesson that can greatly advance your playing while keeping it musical. I like your focussed teaching style it inspires me to keep pushing and improve - thank you :)
You are really helpful thanks for your time you have spent teaching . I like you accent to different from Arkansas in USA. Thanks again for helping please keep it up 👍 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I was someone that was never musical my whole life. Starting on the piano, I felt I was plodding through exercises. But with your lessons, I feel that music is now part of my learning. Merci.
Thank you so much for the video. like the poly rythm you played. Can you make a special video on that. I want to see you playing in slow motion. So that it is easy for me to learn.
Jason, you're lessons are fascinating. I consider myself an intermediate, but have trouble keeping up with y o u. Keep challenging me! Thanks so much...
Zason Sir My emotion hs forced me to call you My Son in my comments of your previous tutorials for your innovative tecniques. This tutorial is also unparallal.
I know you mean well but no professional piano player would play inversions by jumping up or down through each inversion when playing a variety of chords in a tune. They would use economy of movement with their hand (left) so that they are jumping all over the place.
subscribed, ive gone back to basics again because I skipped things like this and memorised music like moonlight sonata, fur Elise, ludovico einaudi pieces which was fun but for improvising wasn't helpful. I like your teaching style.
Hello, just wondering after learning and doing this exercises can you teach how to use them while playing a song, whether backing a singer or while playing a melody. thank you

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I'm 50 years old piano beginner. Your lessons make me interest and happy. Not boring at all. We can see you and we can hear you singing. And thanks for you had upgrade your videos. I love white note on white background. Thx GURU. Love you.🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤
Speaking as a beginner, this is the most useful, practical advice.I’ve found on chord inversions. Jason is an inspirational teacher because he doesn’t patronise his audience or try to convince us that boring and extremely limited exercises are, in fact, fun and useful. But he also doesn’t demoralise us either by pretending that technically difficult exercises are, in fact, easy to master. He’s obviously really thought about how to make these exercises fun and doable but he doesn’t dumb it down. He just teaches what you need to know without expecting the student to tackle complex rhythms, finger gymnastics or theory. This is a masterclass in how to teach……not just piano but any subject!
I reckon most beginner piano players wouldn’t realise how valuable these exercises really are. When playing a song it’s much more interesting to change a chord into its first or third inversion and then back to the chord 1, most beginners would play Chord 1 four times instead of varying the same chord slightly. In addition….learning the inversions like the back of your hand can’t be emphasised enough….it’s the difference between a smooth player and choppy one.
I just found your channel today and I’m so excited! As a non-traditional musician I don’t have the ability to learn by sight reading but I learn SO MUCH from your videos, such an enriching experience!! 💯 🎹 🙏🏼
Here is my take on learning chords/voicings: Practicing with the Circle of 5ths/4ths or chromatically Pros: Systematic Learning: Helps you understand the relationships between chords and keys. Technical Proficiency: Builds finger strength and dexterity through repetition. Foundation: Provides a solid theoretical foundation. Cons: Monotony: Can become tedious and less motivating over time. Lack of Context: May not always show how chords function within a musical piece. Learning Chords via Songs Pros: Contextual Learning: Shows how chords are used in real music, making it easier to understand their function. Engagement: Playing songs you enjoy can make practice more fun and motivating resulting in a deeper connection to what is played. Musicality: Helps develop a sense of timing, rhythm, and musical expression. Cons: Complexity: Some songs might be too challenging for beginners. Inconsistency: May not cover all chords or progressions systematically. What are your thoughts @jason?
Top video as always Jason............just trying to figure out a good practice routine to cover all essentials as when I'm at the piano I drift into procrastination. any suggestions?

I know you mean well but no professional piano player would play inversions by jumping up or down through each inversion when playing a variety of chords in a tune. They would use economy of movement with their hand (left) so that they are jumping all over the place.
So that they are NOT jumping all over the keyboard with the left hand.
Excellent very nice sir
So nice of you
If u play little slowly it would be much better sir. We hear your voice but which fingering you r using that s difficult to know. Explains r good
wow!!!!!
Thanks for listening in!😊
oh my God. Dude, THANK YOU for NOT using C-Major as the example
Of course!
Trombone!
The major flaw I find in the lesson is the fingering. They are incorrect and it's best to be consistent in both left and right hands
subscribed, ive gone back to basics again because I skipped things like this and memorised music like moonlight sonata, fur Elise, ludovico einaudi pieces which was fun but for improvising wasn't helpful. I like your teaching style.
Awesome, thank you Jadon!
Hello, just wondering after learning and doing this exercises can you teach how to use them while playing a song, whether backing a singer or while playing a melody. thank you
There are so many videos on the channel covering this subject. Perhaps you can start with this one: ua-cam.com/video/C_kfdMo1BhI/v-deo.html
❤️❤️❤️
Which software is this showing the chord names?
Chordie
Hey Jason, do you know (or anyone) know of an iPad app that displays the ledger notes and chord names of whatever you’re playing like you have in this video?
Not too sure. But try the app Notion or NotateMe. They should do the job but may not be as efficient as the desktop app, Chordie which I'm using
🤗🤗💖💖
Tamil theriyatha please

Here is my take on learning chords/voicings:
Practicing with the Circle of 5ths/4ths or chromatically
Pros:
Systematic Learning: Helps you understand the relationships between chords and keys.
Technical Proficiency: Builds finger strength and dexterity through repetition.
Foundation: Provides a solid theoretical foundation.
Cons:
Monotony: Can become tedious and less motivating over time.
Lack of Context: May not always show how chords function within a musical piece.
Learning Chords via Songs
Pros:
Contextual Learning: Shows how chords are used in real music, making it easier to understand their function.
Engagement: Playing songs you enjoy can make practice more fun and motivating resulting in a deeper connection to what is played.
Musicality: Helps develop a sense of timing, rhythm, and musical expression.
Cons:
Complexity: Some songs might be too challenging for beginners.
Inconsistency: May not cover all chords or progressions systematically.
What are your thoughts @jason?
