Since I've discovered this band, can't stop listen. My favourite, so far, is Polarlicht
Actually listened to this on first transmission . Seriously underated band
No shit sherlock
That's why they are shining now. Underrated means hidden gem.
@@ashleywalker1411 believe me they werent underrated. saw em loads of times. ask the people who were there if they were underrated.
The song "Der Wind" is really gorgeous, very inspired, a masterpiece, is the spirit of the 80's, peace and happiness. I listened 10 times in a roll. All songs are good, this band is very underated. People need share on Facebook, etc, with friends, more things of this band, i shared this video. 😎
What are you on about? They are constantly on my FB feed.
i agree. do you know other songs like "der wind"?
@@goodmusicisserved7757 all Xmal albums can be described as masterpiece imo , maybe on their album Viva you can find some songs that you will also love and that are simular to der Wind :D
@@bartivo1233 thanks!
Great musicianship, listen to the bass of Polarlicht, Germany before unification - very edgy, raw and a sense of wildness prevails
Loved them. Never underestimate the effect Siouxsie Sioux had on many female singers.
Even male singers: Robert Smith. Tho there have been some fair trade there
a voz da anja é muito linda, polarlitch é uma música muito bonita. gostaria de viver enquanto isso fazia sucesso. beijos de portugal 🇵🇹
Fico feliz por em Portugal haver ainda alguém que goste de boa música...Obrigada faye...
Tmj..
This is one of my go to’s on UA-cam for a few years now, thank you!
Me too, still stand up as a great band.
saw them a few times but saw them on the tour for this album supporting the Stranglers in Brighton - great gig and they were so tight musically.
I was at the Brighton gig too. Not often I love the support band as much as the main band. If I remember rightly wasn't she wearing a very low cut backless dress? Have you got any photos from the gig?
Im Kontext: THIS MORTAL COIL! You Touched ME❤
Me too and I remember John Peel struggling with pronunciation of the songs too.
Can easily stand alongside Siouxsie or Liz Fraser
Это шедеврально
Wow. So powerful. Another time. Take me there. My nostalgia is overwhelming. Love the '80s.
From early 80's my favorite new Wave band ever !!! I really used up "Tocsin"
absolute love this...the vinyl was very difficult to get in the time...awsome band..smashed it in BUenos Aires in late 80s
One of the absolute best
this is very good stuff.
Kick-Ass.
Huge fan
Missing those times
i loved them as one of 4AD artists.
... and I love them simply as X-Mal Deutschland / ... und ich liebe sie einfach als X-Mal Deutschland.
Excellent band! Thanks for posting this!
I liked them more than Siouxsie and the Banshees...
because of Anya is more beautiful..hahaha. Musically too.

People too often try to compare female post-punk singers. Siouxsie and the Banshees and X-mal Deutschland are very different bands. I love both of them.
@Shumit Basu and @ Weapon X well said
I love them both! Sad that both seem to have retired permanently from music though it’s taken Siouxsie a lot longer x
Remember seeing them live back in the day
I love them since earlier 80´s!!!!
Forever Anja Huwe !!!
German Siouxsie and the Banshees
she wants the moon on a stick!
THE MOON ON A STICK!!
the sound of the lost generation, who thought they would lose their lives on the
European theatre of war between the Amis and Ruskis....
Quite correct. And since the threat was removed, the sense of urgency went out of the music...
Direct lines of Electronic Circus personifies those fears. More generally I think the early 80's music, almost all generes, is touched deeply by atmosphere of those days and thats why it is so great :)
@Doomsday Defense 1977 more like Nancy Reagan spending our tax dollars consulting with astrologer to plot Ronald next politic move when he no longer could
Nancy alone listening to the television to keep her company at the end of her days. What a time to b young tho for music like this....
I would say that they can still lose their lives in between....
soo nice, lve them, inkubisukkubi
che frengia...
you can buy their t shirts on amazon to this day, i just did...

Anyone got the text lyrics, for a foreigner please ?
🤜🤛
Never heard of them. Don't know German. To me, her voice is just part of the music. Totally awesome performance. Joins Rammstein, Kraftwerk, as faves.
The last song's in English.
somebody called Malcolm died in Germany
Wish I can find these on vinyl. What's the 2nd song?
It's called Der Wind. The tracklists are always in the description. There are always vinyl copies of this session available at discogs, though it's usually quite expensive. See www.discogs.com/master/340254-Xmal-Deutschland-The-Peel-Sessions
