thanks so much for your video!!! I found the mites this afternoon, saw your video, ordered the Dr Earth. Then later this afternoon we had a huge storm-rain and wind. Went to the garden mites were gone but stilll going to spray them. Thanks again
Thank you so much for this video. The spider mites ruined my tomato plant last season. Now I am prepared for the battle 😄😄. That looks like a spectacular tomato harvest 🍅🍅🍅 Hi from Texas
good video , if you feed your plants every 2/3 weeks foliar feed with seaweed extract they wont even want to be there , it seems to put them off too much oils can block the plants pores
Is there any other option for people like me who has no water hose in my patio garden? would be nice to mention other options because I am sure not everyone would have water hose access like me :-(
@@CaliforniaGardening I was afraid of getting my plants too wet because of the mildew. Does this product also help with powdery mildew? My plants are being attacked at all sides right now.
Thank you for this information. Your videos are very helpful. I am just curious if you have ever tried introducing lacewings, and if that was successful.
I use diatomaceous earth on each sides of the leaves and it seemed to do the trick because diatomaceous earth I believe makes the soft-bodied insects dry out I found the diatomaceous earth at an Ace Hardware for like $9 and a small bag and then I also found a huge bag I think it was like 50 lb bag I think I paid like 10 or $15 for it at a grain and where you got to go to buy food for your chickens and horses and stuff like that and right there they also carry Diatomaceous earth that is white and that is edible I mean we could even take it for parasites ourselves that's because it's food grade but there's a diatomaceous earth it is not kind of like food. You can put it all over your pets like there coats your dog or your cats or your chickens you know kind of give them a bath in it and you can also put it in their feed to help with parasites and stuff it also is a calcium source since I believe that it is really grounded fine like shells
Thank you because my tomato plants have an infestation of spider mites and I wondered if Diatomaceous Earth would work. Gonna try tomorrow . Wish me well. I’m glad it worked for yours. 😄
I have a real bad problem of aphids.😔 I've tried soapy water like you said in one of your videos, but it didn't work.😢 any other suggestions? Please and thank you! I love your videos!!😀🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒
Curious… do you know if this product will also kill spiders? I am hesitant to use anything at all on my garden because I do not want to kill my spider friends. My garden is full of baby jumpers and garden spiders and they are very helpful with other pests so I definitely want to keep them around.
I’m going to try 50% water 50% rubbing alcohol after using water jet and pruning off leaves. I saw it on another channel. Will use it on a small patch of one plant first. It gets expensive buying specialty products!!
I'm currently growling my own Pear Tomato plant. Unfortunately, it's not doing so well because of those pesky tomato mites. What should I do? I'm really worried. I don't want to lose my hard earned work.
It's not quite this easy...spider mites live on the underside of the leaves, so spraying the tops is mostly a waste of this expensive Dr. Earth product. You have to get to the underside of the leaves, and on tomatoes that usually means manually twisting each leave to expose it to the spray. This is a lot of work. So it's a great idea to prune off the damaged leaves first, thus fewer leaves to spray and once the spider mite(s) sucks a plant cell dry it doesn't seem to recover quickly if at all anyway. Remember, if you miss one female spider mite, you'll have hundreds of new spider mites of over her life (2-4 weeks)... at 20 eggs per day. One good thing about the Dr. Earth product is that the oils can smother eggs(on the underside of the leaves) so that improves the effectiveness of the spray compared to the Safer's Soap that I prefer to use.
Guru ji, Can you make some videos showing how to do some growing in the winter, by affordable make-shift mobile greenhouse Shukriya Dhanywaad for uploading and sharing your experience
Shukriya dost! I have made two videos on greenhouses: ua-cam.com/video/sr9Cdd3BtFA/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/2aCVYCX4r_I/v-deo.html - I found that its cheaper to buy a product than build one yourself. But if you have sufficient space, you can build your own using PVC pipes and plastic cloth. I will post this update in the next monthly series video (for December). Happy Gardening!
California Gardening : As a passionate backyard farmer, I feel very inadequate, by not growing anything in the winter, we live in the East coast with unforgiving blisterly cold. Love your channel, that every avid grower should like, subscribe and share, Thanks for replying.
Abideen. I have a link to make a double layered hinged hoop tunnels for where you live. Its a 2 part video. Good luck. In the winter, I need a break from it all,lol Here is a link to the first one. You can find part 2 on your own, its a great video, and a very cool cat too. ua-cam.com/video/1qwyFEmTsmM/v-deo.html
I live in apt and don't have access to a hose. I agree Neem is not best, but if I put a drop or 2 of peppermint oil in it, I think it works better. Anyone else?
If you spot a very small, black ladybird on any spider-mite infested leaves, just spray with water. You don't want to kill those guys by accident with insecticidal spray (they can fly, unlike spider mites, so even if you dislodge them they will find their way to another spider-mite infested leaf). They breed quickly and in time will conquer your spider mite population. They saved my season last year and this year I already have them as they overwintered on some sheltered mint plants.
Sevin dust is not organic and kills everything, It is also a known carcinogen. You do not want that, you want a friendly ecosystem of insects and using any chemical pesticide is simply against the laws of nature. Stay away from Sevin.
I'd more happy to invite spider mites to my garden.. just not Broad mites! Any organic way won't do good in irradicating them.. they will also develop resistance to synthetic pesticide, miticide.. Diatomaceous Earth won't do good also.. since they are much smaller and can easily avoid D.E... Avid, Forbid and lastly Suffoil-X and sulfur fogging is the only way can beat them.
Our soil is not that good so my flowers can not grow well....I have seen your black coloured soil....sir how can u grow so many plants in such a small patch of bucket....sir plz help me and which soil do u use? Please reply to one of your FANS
if you foliar feed your tomatoes with a weak batch of water and seaweed extract it puts them off , ive never had them ever until this year when i used a poly tunnel , they love high humidity , if you have them bad use one table spoon lemon juice one table spoon baking soda/powder one table spoon alcohol and 2 table spoons of seaweed extract to one liter water , if you DONT HAVE THEM give them a light foliar feed of seaweed extract every other week and they wont want to nest
How can we handle spider mites in indoor plants? I live in Massachusetts (USDA zone 5b) and I have tropical plants like jasmines, neem, kanakambaram, hibiscus, banana plants and gardenia. My banana plants & jasmines are taking a toll and I’m worried.
Just spraying water every day is useless for me, maybe it will temporarily dislodge them from the plant, but the infestation actually got worse after some time. I've also tried neem oil but it's useless too. Now I just give them a 3% hydrogen peroxide jacuzzi every now and then. They seem to absolutely love it to death...if you get what I mean.

I have not tried that but they are excellent predators of garden pests so they should be effective
Is it ok to cut off all the leaves on the tomato plants like that?
Yes you can!
It's BTK of any use in getting rid of spider mites?
Can I use isopropyl alcohol n water ?

Not required but remove the yellow, brown leaves
