I have one just like this...Love it...We did some mods to AC to keep from having to lug in and out...mounted it between lights in rear where tag was...6000 btu fits perfect...added a Harbor freight cargo rack to support AC and room for extras...Heading to Keys and up the gulf coast in a couple of weeks..looking forward to camping...Rade Safe and keep enjoying each other....

That sounds like a great idea for the AC, I have thought about doing something like that as well. Enjoy your trip to the coast and keep safe!

Hey Robert and Brandi; I have been looking to buy a camper trailer for my motorcycle. I've look at all the models and found that the Solace was the least expensive, and a lot of room. I have a couple of questions:
    1. What made you decide on the Solace? And do you like it? How many trips have you taken in it?
    2. What do you use for padding? Air mattress? Form Pad? Memory foam?
    3. How do you run the AC when no electrical hookups are available? Do you have a small generator? Could a small generator be packed in the trailer?
    4. The canvas top looks like it is for storage items, correct?
    5. Have you considered a small microwave?
    6. I'm assuming there would be room for a small porta potty.
I'm ready to pull the trigger on the Solace. I found that The USA Trailer Store is selling them for $,3,449. I also found the Chinese manufacturer of this product, selling for $1,900. Where did you purchase yours?
    Thanks for your responses,
Brad Stone - Salt Lake City Utah

      Hello Brad, first off thanks for watching! I have to say we have had a lot of fun with our trailer and really have enjoyed it! To answer your questions here is what we have found;
      1. After looking at a few of the other models out there we decided on the Solace mainly because of the price. It is the first trailer we we have owned and have used it now since 201 when we bough it new. We have really enjoyed it and it has seemed to hold up well. We take it out at least 8 or 9 time per year. We have pretty much taking it all over Texas and we pulled it all the way to Sturgis, SD before.
      2. For our bed we use an air mattress, it works out great for us in the winter time we use self inflating backpacking mats for insulating to keep warm.
      3. As far as AC, yes we carry a small generator which I carry in the car topper on top of the trailer. When we are camping at state parks and such we usually get sites with electricity.
      4. On top of the trailer, when packed down and traveling it is just a car topper where we can carry all of our extra stuff that will not fit in the trailer, there really is not a lot of room when packed down. Most of what we carry is foldable and I pack a table, pots and pans, portable toilet, Colman stove, foldable chairs, and sleeping bags in the trailer. the rest we carry in containers on top along with AC and generator in the summer and 20# propane tank and Mr. Buddy heater in the winter.
      5. As far as a microwave, never have taken one but I'm sure I could get it in the car topper. I may have to try that one day.
      6. And yes we also have a porta potty we bought at Wal-Mart that folds and uses disposable bags. For boondocking trips we also have a shower tent we can put the potty in, and a solar water bag for showering. I also bought ours form the USA Trailer Store.
I hope this helps in your decision process for purchasing a trailer, I will say I have been looking to replace ours as its starting to show some ware. Time Out trailers seem to be a little deeper in the cargo area but the price is a considerable more. Not sure what I will get next, as we really have enjoyed our Solace, it of a lesser quality but it has held up well for us!
Please subscribe if you haven't already done so as we will be putting out more content on our camping adventures and how we have found to go about it in our motorcycle trailer. If you have any other questions please ask and we will see if we can help! Thanks!

@@birdosadventures Just one more question. I recently have been on some popup trailer forums and have asked about the Solace. It seems I have gotten mostly negative comments about the Solace trailer. Two main issues that others have complained about is: 1) The Solace tent leaks; 2) It is a Chinese knockoff, and made with poor quality materials.
So, I have been close to purchasing the Solace, but now I'm second-guessing it. I've been looking again at the Time-Outs, but I'm not impressed with their price, and all the add-ons you have to purchase. And the Solace includes most of those items.
Have you experienced any leaking problems? And do you feel the product is made of low quality materials?
      Thanks,
      Brad

By the way... I very much enjoyed your video of getting your camp spot set up. Gave me a lot of good ideas.
      Thanks for producing it!

You know I have also heard people talk about it negatively as well, I have not owned any other trailer so I could not tell you how it compares to others. We have had ours going on 8 years and use it a lot, and it has held up well for us. As far as it leaking, when I first got it we did have some issues with it leaking at the seams, all I did was purchase a spray on seam sealer and I have really not had any other issues with it leaking. I have been happy with it, and for the price it has done us well. It's all going to depend on what your preference is and how much you are willing to spend. Maybe when I decide to buy a new one I will try another brand and see how it compares. I would though buy this the Solace again if i were to do it all over again.

@@birdosadventures You convinced me. I'm going with the Solace. I'm assuming you purchased your's from The USA Trailer Store? I did find the manufacturer that The USA Trailer Store buys from. It is located in China, and they have the trailer priced at $1,900. czyamar.en.made-in-china.com/product/JylmMjVPbHcu/China-Motorcycle-Camping-Trailer.html
I'm now trying to decide if I want to deal with a China firm, and hope they ship it to me, or pay the extra and have a US Dealer that I can work with if I need any help. I'll probably pay the extra and work with The USA Trailer Store. Thanks again for your video.
If you are interested, I keep a website of my rides: usamotorcyclerides.com/
      Thanks,
      Brad
