Scott, You picked the best time in your life to build Eddie, retirement is a change ! Can see you thoroughly enjoying. Love love the little stove, Perfect fit. Excited to see the interior come along!
Great experimental trip. I am mostly learning from you, so I do not expect to be teaching you, but just a thought: do think about left-right and front-back weight balance. I am sure you are contemplating this, but when you mentioned water and batteries on the right side, I thought that that could be quite heavy.
No better proof of concept than to try something out to find it's strengths and weaknesses. Fun working through problems and finding solutions. Glad to see some relaxing happening at the same time. 👍
Back in the 1970s we camped for deer hunting for a week in NYS Adirondack mountains where night-time temperatures got down to 20 below F. He had an Apache fiberglass popup camping trailer. No insulation in the fiberglass extensions on each end for beds. We added some closed cell foam on the floor and sides which didn't help much. Condensation was a big problem. We had a small built in propane furnace which barely kept it warm. All the heat escaped when we opened the door. We worried about the nylon chain breaking in the cold or freezing up when lifting or lowering the roof. We had DC electric lights run off batteries which we charged daily with a homemade small gas engine and car generator (not an alternator). Storage was an issue and drying wet hunting clothes was impossible. It had a gas cook stove and sink and small refrigerator. It could sleep 4. We made do but it wasn't ideal for winter camping. Enclosing the bottom with plastic might have helped. A homesote vestibule where we could have a small wood stove might have helped with storage, heat, and drying clothes. We made one years later for a tent. We used it as a kitchen and lighted it with a low pressure regulated wall propane light. The main problem with camping with a 20 # propane tank for cooking and light is the tank doesn't have enough pressure at 20 below F. A 50 # tank is needed and transportation can become an issue. Connecting 2-3 20# tanks might be possible but we never tried it. Winter camping is challenging.
Watching winter camping videos have become my latest relaxing past time. Idk why I find it so calming (little escape fr 3d matrix, I guess). This video different for me, because of the camper. I prefer the camper option, rather than building a shelter fr snow or wood. I still like to watch those, however I'm definitely a glamper. I'll keep watching this channel. Thx for sharing!
That little trailer is the best.when covid rears up,even public showers arent open.very good planning on your part!hope u have a wonderful new year traveling with that
Awesome! Your ladder could be a bit safer if you added a coupler stabilizer blocks for it to go between since you go up in the same spot to connect/disconnect you stove pipe. I realize the strap is suppose to prevent it kicking out but...eliminating any chance it goes sideways on you out there alone might be a nice add on.
I would carry cans of spray windshield deicer fluid for the jacks (and anything else), that would eliminate the corrosive effects of rock salt, but might have other drawbacks to be aware of. I would also look at carrying pads to place under the jacks so they weren't resting on ice and snow. And a small whisk broom would sweep out ice and snow before it melted into muddy water inside your camper. Take a notepad, make notes.
I really enjoyed the video. I felt like I was camping with you. Looking forward to seeing the next video. thank you for shearing your camping trip with us. Good luck with the rest of the build.
When you cracked that beer I was expecting to see some trendy, hoppy IPA. Pretty sure I exclaimed “yes” when that dark porter or stout came out! Well played sir!! Another great vid!
That camping trailer what an amazing thing you made I would love to do something like that and the way you took it off the truck and leveled it you are amazing super amazing
I really enjoyed this video, while I watched, I could smell the bacon cooking and the coffee brewing. This a great project, and I will be following you in every video. There is nothing like outdoor camping and living. Congrats on great work
Nice trailer build...I am sure you get the satisfaction out of this, and enjoy it for your future travel/camping trip. I am not a camping guy, though, for reasons that it is a lot of work...geting firewood, cooking, etc. Do not know how much time is left for sight seeing, hiking, and other fun activities...
Who are YOU kidding? Can't beat ANY kind of heat in a Canadian winter! Heck, I'd be grateful for a hardwarmer up here right now! Dayum it's chilly this month! Brrrrrrr.....
i love your contednt. just found your stuff and you have inspired me to build a larger camper than others ive seen online like you have done, i will tow it with my 4kw ebike
All eventualities accounted for here in this Camp then. Must have been in the Cubs or Scouts then ?? I need a napkin I’m drooling now.!! Oh my oh my…..
Terrific idea to take it out to test out your layout. Do a little fine tuning of the plan, check the the insulation is adequate and that there's enough ventilation - Well done. I look forward to seeing Eddie Off Grid a lot. Heck of a job!
Interesting video, as always. I have to repair my 2007 trailer in a few months, water got in and I gotta change the floor, etc.. Still a hassle, but you reminded me that it's not that big of a deal ! Thanks.
I wish I could camp like this once a week. It would definitely lower my stress level/blood pressure from this high pace insane world we live in....cool video.
Bring blocks of wood to put under the scissor jacks so they are above the ground so they don't freeze in the winter. The salt was a good idea but with the wood, there will be no waiting. Then you can knock the wood out with an axe or hammer and bring them back with you to use the next time.
This is spectacular. Upon seeing your videos, I'm already in the planning stages for my build. I have a pop up canvas camper where the canvas has maybe a year or two left on it. I have a lot of unknowns at this point but I figure they will come in time.
I think everything is coming along just great Scott it looked like you were very comfortable inside Eddie so the insulation must be working I think the original Eddie would be proud of where he's come can't wait to see more interior work and the extra features here we're putting on him keep up the good work my friend I will keep on watching 👍😁
Wish I had found you sooner. I have some catching up to do. We have four days of single digits starting tomorrow. Now I have a new chanel to help pass the time 👍
The look of the outside is very clean, love it man. I've spent the last year rustic restoring a 1956 Canned Ham camper. Been a journey with a limited budget but its been so much fun.
Aloha lads very nice love the out door stove thanks for the ideas love the in door wood burning stove loved the ladder too where did you buy your stuff ftom
Congratulations on reaching 50K subscribers! Proud to be one of the first 100.
😮😮😢we
Nice thing about cold weather camping - NO. BUGS!
I don't care what nobody says ... That mini Grandmothers house mini stove with the fan... THAT took me in right there. VERY nice setup
Thanks
Nice set up. Enjoying a good Porter is the cherry on top.
Thanks. 👍
Looking good Scott. I always enjoy seeing the hearty meals you prepare. Cheers
Thanks Dean
Scott’s a great outdoor cook!
@@DrenalinAdventures Canola Oil? no no no,
Love the idea of being able to stand up and having the bed across the trailer as well , I could imagine having some awesome times out and a about ..
Well done on that trailer. Thanks for doing things most of us just daydream about doing!
thanks.
I like your camper adventures! I really like that you don’t talk constantly, after all .. a video is worth million words.
Thanks 👍
When you cracked the third egg I was like O yeah I like this guy 👍🏻
Scott, You picked the best time in your life to build Eddie, retirement is a change ! Can see you thoroughly enjoying. Love love the little stove, Perfect fit. Excited to see the interior come along!

Gotta love a guy who takes safety so seriously!
Speak for yourself lady. Man love ain't my thing. I'm straight!
Also Canadian here. Build a skirt you can add on or attach and lower. You'll stay warmer without the wind blowing underneath.
It’s on the list

Great point!
Most interesting presentation. You did a good job building your camper trailer. You food looks delicious. God bless wilderness people.
Awesome 👌
حقيقة عمل رائع سعدت بالمشاهدة من البداية حتى أول رحلة .

You're welcome Lori.
Isn’t it nice when they don’t use any music or speak during the video, just letting the sounds from camp speak for themself…so peaceful and soothing…
My dad has that red white and green blanket. Wow that’s a old one!

I can’t believe Eddie is finally on the road and out in the bush! What an amazing journey… Thanks for bringing us along!
You bet!
I can't believe you can't believe! There are far bigger curiousity's and unanswered questions in life right now.
Thanks for the video Scott. 👍😁

Having a bed slide when you have a canopy on your truck makes life really easy thinking you could probably just whip one up on the weekend
Great tips scott. Enjoyed footage n you enjoying your hearty meals. Cheers

Successful test run. Worked out well. Thanks for sharing.
funny - no meditation - no fasting - just hot iron, fresh beef, and space dust - LOVE!
I really enjoyed the video. I felt like I was camping with you. Looking forward to seeing the next video. thank you for shearing your camping trip with us. Good luck with the rest of the build.
Glad you enjoyed it
Man camper is looking good but that breakfast looks awesome!
Very interesting video Nice construction of your camper except for the part when you eat outside keep it up
Great video again! I liked a lot peaceful way you are doing things. Waiting new video.😎
Thanks
The thriller is watching the setting up routine.

There's nothing like cooking on a camp fire, and your van, wow!

I knew you were 🇨🇦, by seeing the Hudson Bay blanket on your bed, 😁 ❤️🇨🇦
Well that looked like fun!
It’s getting there
All that work he put in and he uses a plastic fork 🥩 ;) Love it! Great video
Eddie looks good! I stumbled across your video. Dang it’s really nice
Amazing Just absolutely amazing... Love the camper, the food looked awesome.. great job Keep camping..

Now that's a hungry mans breakfast. I'm glad I ate before I tuned in. Thumbs up for sure.
I’m dying with envy. That breakfast looks delicious.
The narrative is overwhelming 😮
Hey Scott, perhaps bringing 4 bricks will keep the scissor jacks off the ground and not almost max them out in the process.
Absolutely, I have them, they got forgotten
@@DrenalinAdventures and a bullseye level will be helpful in levelling Eddie.
Love your approach to safety. Great forward thinking.
You absolutely devoured this episode
This was a really cool video. Great ASMR and I like the third-party POV used in much of the video.
Great video! Eddie is looking good.
Thank you 👍
awesome job on the camper! cant beat wood heat in the winter!
We agree!

Great tip about the rock salt. Thanks!

Love your HM RV,I bought one made but still take some of your camping tips!
Something you might consider bringing is either a heat gun or a normal hair dryer for unfreezing various items. Cheers
Interesting video, as always. I have to repair my 2007 trailer in a few months, water got in and I gotta change the floor, etc.. Still a hassle, but you reminded me that it's not that big of a deal ! Thanks.
with the cost of housing in the uk going sky high, im really thinking of making something similar to this for a permanent home wherever i feel like
This is a new channel for me. Your barbecue set up is very very effective. Look forward to more. Tk u.
It’s always a good idea to put a block of wood under your jacks!
👍
Enjoyed your content. Now that's a breakfast!!
looks yummy the snow is so pretty
I wish I could camp like this once a week. It would definitely lower my stress level/blood pressure from this high pace insane world we live in....cool video.
What's stopping ya?
Nice build. Wish I could’ve seen more of it.
There's 20 episodes of the build on my channel.
You have a very tidy set up, thanks for sharing 👍

Good build! Not sure why most videos use a formula of showing the drive in, the set up, and of course someone cooking something lol.
This is spectacular. Upon seeing your videos, I'm already in the planning stages for my build. I have a pop up canvas camper where the canvas has maybe a year or two left on it. I have a lot of unknowns at this point but I figure they will come in time.

This was absolutely amazing Scott. Long live Eddy! Can’t wait to see the finished product and all the new adventures that lie ahead. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks Steve
LOVE your camper; ALSO...THANK heavens for...electrical tools/implements: they SAVE much time... Loved this vid... 👍😃👣
thanks.
Nice set up, take a lot of skill to get a camper set up like this going.
Cool to see eddy out un the wild, loving the build series with this trailer 👌
Safe travels
Great video, camper well thought-out. Where did you get the outdoor fireplace grill ? It looks quite portable and very functional.
I think everything is coming along just great Scott it looked like you were very comfortable inside Eddie so the insulation must be working I think the original Eddie would be proud of where he's come can't wait to see more interior work and the extra features here we're putting on him keep up the good work my friend I will keep on watching 👍😁

Where did you get your fire/cooking pit?
Badass looks like a professional built Camper
All those details and you pull out a plastic fork to eat your steak! 😂😂 Good vid, dig the setup.
I really enjoyed your video and first trip with Eddie. This is my first time to see yor channel! I like it a lot.
thanks.
Go with the Iceco cooler’s, are the best with a 1000 Jackery Explorer 👍
*_I really like watching this video, outdoor equipment is a mix of campervan and bushcraft, Greetings from Indonesia,_** GAPT CHANNEL*

Even though Eddie is kind of bare bones now, he has potential! Looking forward to seeing him completed.
Thanks
1:51 that is so freakin cool, lovin the videos just started watching from the beginning yesterday
There’s nothing better than mopping up egg yolk with a nice piece of bread.
A little butter would make it perfect
Yea undercooked chicken fetus is delicious
@@Darth_Raider_Sure is. Just like eating all the damn plants! 🤤

Amazing progress on that project. Enjoy the fruits of your efforts. Take care.
Thanks, will do!
I saw no fruits.
Might want to install some trailer tires on those nice Jeep wheels. Standard suv tires aren’t rated for the loads a trailer carries.
