@@artificerdrachen6908 dont worry guys I already worked it out.
The first was just some rock. Someone heated a lump of metal up until it was red or orange hot and he started beating the hell out of it with a rock forming it into a more practical form as a tool for striking. After that he just used his more or less hammer for everything. The first handle was probably just some twigs folded or glued or whatever maybe even stringed to the hammerhead and yeah thats basically it. I mean he could have already produced an almost flat surface by taking his time and grinding on his hammer with a stone and after he had his hammer the rest comes all by itself

Man I’m a little Jelly. I just returned from Vacation so I didn’t get to finish putting my shop together. I did strip the paint off of my forge body before I left and also did some adjustment work and added an extra valve in my burners so that I can use just one burner for smaller jobs. I did keep some extra tubing so if I get a forge body longer than the 18 inch one I have I can extend the width between the burners. Also got some nice hinges and latches and a rivet Gun so I can make doors with latches and hinges, but not like the one you made. Mine is all hand operated. I’m shooting for getting it done by the end of next week. Including lining my forge and repainting it with high temp paint and finishing my anvil. And the one thing I keep neglecting. I need tongs.

If it’s not too forward, I’d like to make a recommendation. Your channel has become pretty big, you have a decent staff, and you’re reaching a large audience. Please consider hiring a captioner/transcriber. I have auditory processing issues and sometimes need to rewind several times to catch what you’ve said just by virtue of it being a recorded video and having background noise and not always having your face in view while you talk. Having proper captions will make your channel more accessible to me, more accessible to Deaf and HoH folks, and more accessible in general.
Please consider it. I’d love it if your joy for forging could reach even more people than it does now!

Alec, have you ever tried doing any repousse designs? It looks like a challenge to me. Here is an idea for you- make a repousse sheet to cover your regular entrance door or some such- if it opens out then security doors would be right out, but if it opens in then make a security "Screen" door with a repousse design in it. or you made a bed once, maybe do a headboard design, or a company logo one to hang on the wall somewhere. not to make you have too many irons in the fire, just something to roll around in your head and get to once things slow in other places.
Thanks for the videos, hope you all are doing well.

One of the most satifying things is the editors syincing the hammer blows to the beat of the music.

Idk why but just seeing the hammer finished made me audibly say "that's a sexy hammer" and my girl heard me say it hahaha

On Audible try The Wheel of Time series book 1 The Eye of the World. Great series and cool weapons throughout it.

Trick for hanging tool handles if you got it sticking on there just tap the handle with the weight of the tool head fighting the momentum and getting shoved further onto the handle. light stuff just tap the handle on a hard surface and the weight of the tool head will do much the same to tighten up.
