Worth watching for the final act at the Capitol building, which has some pretty bonkers stunts. Can't go wrong with a movie that has Lance Henriksen and William Forsythe as the villains. The director of this movie made another explosion-fest with a blonde slab of beef (Dolph Lundgren) called I Come In Peace. Might be review-worthy.
One element you missed....... when Lance Henriksen's character breaks out in a bit of soft laughter..... it's because he finally understands the joke his agent played on him by getting him a part in this movie.
I watched this movie the other day, and I really enjoyed it. It had fun moments and Henriksen is awesome, I liked the Boss too, but the whole movie there was this consistent thought in my head - that mullet is killing this picture.
Brian Bosworth is considered by a lot of people to be the best college linebacker of all time. True his pro career didn't go well, though he showed some amazing flashes of talent before he got to the point he couldn't lift is arms anymore due to degenerative arthritis in both shoulders. He was a smart guy though, knew how to market himself. The Denver story is total fact. He started a "feud" with Elway, got Denver fans to hate him, then sold them t-shirts. Brilliant.
Thank you for doing this one. For sure one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I've seen this movie more times than I can count. "The Boss" is okay in it, but Lance Henriksen and William Forsythe owns this shit...
“We’re gonna crack the Whip.” >_< This flick is a true 90’s classic. Charlie Sheen was in a an undercover biker movie too with Micheal Madsen called Beyond the Law.
How can you go wrong with a movie starring Brian Bosworth, Lance Henriksen, and William Forsythe? You can't Boz's leather jacket with the skunk-mohawk skull has it's own starring role, and the rest of the character actor's filling the cast play their roles perfectly. This was another watch it any time it was on movies that I caught on HBO, USA, and TNT/TBS whenever I stumbled across it. Plus, taking a page out of Miami Vice, he has what looks like a komodo dragon for a pet.
Watched your Hard Target review today and thought how it would be awesome if you’d do a Stone Cold review, because Lance Henriksen playes the baddie in both movies and here you are!! Thanks man! 😂😁👍
I’m a huge fan of the Mystery Science Theater guys and Rifftrax (same guys) did one on the movie McBain. A big name 1991 action flick that bombed. It has Christopher Walken, Michael Ironside and the mustache himself, Steve James. You should check it out if you haven’t. It’s actually not that bad. It’s your classic action movie about war buddies from the 70’s that feels like an 80’s movie, made in the 90’s.
You know what's weird is in 2001 I was in a mom and pop video rentel/ video game place that sold tvs, cds. This store still had this stone cold movie display cut out in part of the store by the window
This was one of the movies my Dad rented for me when I was home sick from school back in the early 90's. Whenever he picked out a movie for me, I ended up with something like this, or Blind Fury, LOL. In his defense he knew i had already seen all the main stream action movies at the time. I'm glad he picked this one out for me, because I never would have picked it out on my own. A good "one-watcher" when you're a kid and don't really care about anything making sense - we just wanted the action, fights, and guns.
You know where else you can see Brian Bosworth? in Pureflix' "family friendly" Mad Max movie "Revelation Road". (Un)Fortunately, neither Lance Henriksen nor William Forsythe is in that one.
Thank you RedEye! I haven't seen this one. 16:25 yeah, I can't get past how wrong Boz looks in every scene with the bikers. He's like a giant Chippendale. The pet lizard is cute, though. You could do a countdown of 'best pets in action movies' - the bunny from "No retreat, no surrender", the armadillo from "Invasion USA", I'm sure there are more... Oh, you should check out "Firestorm" from 1998 - it's got Howie Long (who I literally just realized was not the same person as Brian Bosworth), William Forsythe again, plus Scott Glenn.
Everything about this movie is insane in the best way and I love it for that. The guy who is like rocket launched into the Coke display in the grocery hold up makes me laugh every time.
Was there any sort of dialog to explain why the national guard is responding to a hostage situation instead of the police, like the bombing just happened to be on the one weekend a month they might have that many people together to train and just so happened to be on the complex that was to be bombed.
This is a really great film, very 80's/90's action. I saw this as a teenager back in the 90's on VHS, me and my mates loved it, we did a double bill of this and Cobra. It was a good day. Lance Henriksen is a legend and always excellent, William Forsythe and Brian Bosworth are very enjoyable in this Stone Cold Movie!
For years I honestly thought that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin got his name in part from this movie but apparently he got it from his ex-wife complaining about how long he took drinking his tea, although he did in fact base his character on another film called "The Ice Man"
Back when this movie came out I was in high school and it was so bad ass back then. And it's still fun, but more fun watching it get made fun of on Rifftrax. If you haven't seen that you should check it out. Good stuff.
Had it recorded on video tape when I was a teen. Of course, after I lent it out to a friend, he only wanted to talk about the porno I forgot I recorded right after that. He was right, that one was better.
I literally dropped my toast when you said he was Cena's older brother, but then I spilled my coffee when he was Joe Dirt's older brother. Please #ReleaseTheCenaDirtBozCut it would make for one amazing family reunion.
Wrote a comment before finishing the video asking if anyone thought this guy looked like John Cena. Glad you thought the same. ITS CRAZY how much they look alike!
Not ONLY have I SEEN Stone Cold, I won tickets to a premier! In a theater! Movie has it ALL. Mullets for days, William Forsythe continuity errors, Hueys. (I believe there are only two helicoptors that matter in 80's-90's films - Hueys and Blue Thunder. Airwolf and TC's Littlebird don't count.) Fun Fact - Double Jeopardy doesn't apply to neo-nazi bikers. J/K of course it does. But a southern lawyer can dream, right?
You kept screwing up things about this movie. 1) Joe was a cop in Alabama and The Brotherhood were in Mississippi. 2) They were appealing Owen's sentence, not re-try him. I saw this in the theater and it was awesome then, and it's awesome now.
Oooooo that makes much more sense. I missed that one. But they were retrying him in court. Because they guy thought the sentence wasn't harsh enough so he wanted it to be the death penalty
This movie is an awesome jolt of testosterone, adrenaline and hairspray, and it's only made better when watched with the RiffTrax soundtrack. Oh, and that's a watermelon the guy is carving up and eating, not a loaf of bread.
Just a nerd point but while you can't retry someone on the same charges, you can resentence them, or try them federally for the same charges and get a tougher penalty. So basically double jeopardy but not cause two different legal systems. Tricky huh.
Oh make no mistake he was a badass he knocks a guy's helmet off his head from Florida state three rows into the stands...he was all-everything team too
Been ages since I've watched it. Far from my favs, and I didn't really like Bosworth (plus I'm not from US so I didn't know he was a football player [or that he's older brother of all of these guys]), but Henriksen is cool as always, and in general it's a fun action flick. Though I definitely prefer Baxley's "Dark Angel" aka "I Come in Peace" with Lundgren and Hues. Would be nice to see someone like Carl Weathers or Steve James kill these Brotherhood scum btw.
I've never seen this movie before, but the fact that they don't know the difference between double jeopardy and sentence modification is jaw dropping. I almost want to sit the writers of this down in in the third grade class where pretty much everyone learned in greater detail than TV shows go into that this is what the court of appeals is for.

Love it. Bozworth did a movie after this called One Man's Justice. Awfully good, wonderfully terrible, decent fight scenes, and worth the watch.
