- Welcome to Benji's Hobbies! Join me as I design and build my DREAM hobby space from a garden shed in to an office and UA-cam studio in my garden where I will be painting Warhammer 40k and Middle Earth SBG models. I have designed this space so I can paint and record videos effortlessly! This is the perfect space for crafting, creating UA-cam content and is an ideal working from home office space. After watching Tiny Home videos I was inspired to turn my garden shed in to the ultimate hobby room!

It has indeed! It’s taken about two months in total, but obviously I had to build myself another shed in that time as well... Really happy with how the shed (and the video) has turned out.

I did something similar. I knocked down my wooden conservatory that was about 30 years old and rotten, I build a large extension which gave my sons a play room and a hobby room for myself. Best thing I ever did to improve my home.

I’ve got all my fingers and toes crossed! Taken a while to get to this point and it’s a steep climb ahead still but I’m enjoying the process. Watching the build come together when I was editing the video has really pushed me forward and can’t wait to get the next video out now!

It truly has been! Unfortunately a recent house move has meant it has been passed on to another owner who I’m hoping it will make equally as happy. On the plus side though, look out for a video soon where I’m going through a similar process with my new garage!

Looks great pal! I was gazumped on a house that had a big garage I was hoping to use for the same thing, we are buying the house next door instead which doesn’t have a garage but room for a medium sized shed. This inspires me to do the same thing. Can’t wait to see more videos coming soon. Maybe some conversion ones, loved the Rohan one you did on TTG.

Greater video. I have two concerns. First is freezing temperatures during winter. Are you planing to heat it whole winter? Second is safety.You got there some serious collection and doors doesn't look to be super safe.
I’ll more than likely use a small oil filled radiator to keep it at 10-15 degrees and then turn it up when I go and work in there. It’s only a small space so it’ll won’t take much to heat! The door is pretty sturdy BUT I have taken quite a few precautions with regards to security and safety, don’t you worry 😉

What an awesome hobby space. It looks great. I felt for you trying to position that ply on your own, I’ve been there.
Two essential things required though, 1 a kettle and 2 a good lock on that door. Or guarantee someone will be in there.

Haha! Unfortunately not - I’m just a ‘have a go’ amateur! I did renovate a house a few years ago so I did pick up some skills along the way 😊

Hi Benjamin thank you for this video, I want to build a model making shed in my garden for my 1/6 scale hobby. So coming across this wonderful video has been brilliant. I’m not sure how big your shed is but it’s outstanding. I’d like to wire mine up for the pc and 3 d printers as well but top of the garden I think it’s going to be expensive. Love the idea of book cases to store my collection of modelling books. But have no idea how to organise thanks for this Benji
Thanks so much for your kind words! I’m still absolutely loving my shed although trying to film in there is becoming increasingly frustrating due to lack of space. Keep your eyes peeled as I will be upgrading from the shed in (hopefully) the not too distant future!

Loved the lean-to shed problem comment
The biggest problem is when I come to need another shed I’ll have to build a lean-to on my lean-to... Eventually my garden will be covered in sheds.
Great shed that mate, me personally would have used some old scaffold boards as a bench and shelving, but I would be stripping and engine on it lol 😂 great tho pal keep it up.!

On hot days it’s not really a problem as I can leave the door open. When it’s cold I have a small 850w radiator that’s set on about half way that keeps it really toasty 😊
