Remember way back in episode 1, when Issac McDougal (the freezing alchemist shown in the flashback) said 'look at the shape of this country'? He wasn't meaning 'look at the state the country is in' he meant it literally. Look at the shape of it. It's the shape of a transmutation circle.
mmhmm. really people like him are protagonists.. he wanted to break it and assault the capital.. but obviously that couldn't have been known.. and then of course Scar as well.. doing more good than evil the entire show in the grand scheme.. meanwhile most of our main cast were furthering the goals without knowing it.

I'm not sure if you both remember or not.. but the thing that Hughes was looking up and into before he was murdered back in episode 10 or so... were maps, and dates. He was marking things on a map.. and then was assaulted by Lust.. Meaning.. Hughes knew what they were now discussing in the tunnels all the way back then.. which of course, is why they eliminated him.
Commanding Officers are almost always reffered to as "Sir" due to rank. Basically respecting the line of command.

@@Diegesis in the marines im pretty sure its sir no matter what. could be wrong. the army was trying to be inclusive. were all just meat sacks that explode when shot. were all the same.
@@Diegesisit’s one of those things that started as some high ranking female officers wanting to be called sir to feel equal to the men. Probably blown out of proportion from Hollywood.
