Appreciate The Love
LOVE this album so much... Their most underrated and perhaps their best. Depth lyrical and musical.
My favorite song by Supertramp.
As always, Supertramp brings sublime genius, well performed, not a note out of place, intelligent lyrics, great production/composition. Masterpiece, as usual.
Supertramp,the masters of accessible prog.
Great stuff and 'Crime....' is one of my all time favourite albums.
This is more than just a song. It's a cosmic hymn. Epic! "The Perfect Song". You said it, Tre. I love that you're putting this out there in 2019. Keep the torch burning. Thanks (-:
Tell me folks, how much of this is great JUST because of the human voice??... I truly believe the human voice is the greatest of all instruments!
Lorraine,i concur with your comment.
Yes, Lorraine, My favorite instrument.
One of their most progrock songs. I keep forgetting I know this one. So beautiful.
Fyi, when Roger wrote this he meant it to be read two ways, one as a song about a man talking to a woman, or as a song about a man talking to God.
Let's see here. We've got clarinet, soprano sax, acoustic guitar, synthesizer, Hammond organ and talking drum. The instrumentation is insane. This is what happens when you stick a bunch of Brits 7,800 feet above sea level.
Supertramp - Fools Overture Masterpiece
This song takes you to God.
You do not listen to Super Tramp you absorb Super Tramp.
When is someone going to ask Tre to do "School"?
My man, your playing some great memories ..I'm going to dig out some old vinyl during Christmas time and take me back to these golden days.
Awesome that's what this channel is here for
thegreypigeon get yourself a record player that can record to mp3! Not hard to find! My most recent one cost me 25 UK pounds from eBay!
@@agemoth Thanks but i prefer my hi fi dating from 1975 which still has the best bass sound i've heard... but i'm always open to good advice.. cheers.
Oh good Tre, I am glad you finally did the full studio version. Much better than the short live one you did before.
Oh yes!!!
MASTERPIECE
Great review! I agree- it's one of my favorites of theirs, along with 'School', and the 'Logical Song'. Actually, probably my favorite, as it's so blissful.
My acid years were from 70 to 77. All the music is forever saturated into millions of synapses that two tokes on a good doobie and you spinning the songs makes everything in my mind work. I can't do the times crossword puzzle anymore but who gives a fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Supertramp as great as any band in the 70's
Bravo,10 out of 10,great comment,i concur with every word.
C'est Le Bon & Sister Moonshine are both great songs that are forever overlooked (but there are so very many, I know!). Breakfast In America & Crime of the Century are the two albums that gained the most exposure.
So imagine us growing up in the 70's and the grear riches of music we had with no one sampling anything. There were giants of Music walking the land amongst the dreck.
Try “Sister Moonshine.”
I'm so glad you appreciate this underrated song by them! My favorite of Supertramp's. But who am I to say what's underrated, I suppose.
Masterpiece ☝️
You are a cool dude my man ~ with excellent taste
This is my Fav by them
Love.
what a great song
Like Choudhuri Rafiq I love this guy.
Love it bro!
Another home run choice, Tre. Lots to explore with this band.
I've told you that the studio version were better than the live version you've tried before ;-)
Hi Tre,i am hoping that some of my requests, get on one of your playlists, lol, best wishes to you and your family, from Bonnie Scotland.
Chris has
@@fishoutofwaterseries1424 Thats good, thank you,i also think you liked Zucchero as well,my late wife and i loved Chris and Zucchero
You looking for 'lyrical'?
Check out Clifford T Ward, singing his own composition, 'Home thoughts from abroad'.
Alternately, check out ANY song he wrote & recorded!
The guy was a revelation to most 70's music fans, but sadly, he passed away before the inevitable role of worldwide superstar could happen to him!
It turns into a mantra. The best Supertramp's songs are writen by Roger, no doubt about that.
Rick had the better songs just not as radio friendly as Rogers songs. I'd put Crime of the Century and Rudy at the top of their songs.
Keep digging in, plenty more where that came from. The next track on the album does the same thing to your brain but with the piano instead.
Why do so few people comment on videos over a few months old?
Back from the days when you had to have talent
Oh there was plenty of music lacking talent back then! :-)
