- Here in Texas an abused horse ( used for some sort of racing ) has now been rescued. He’s at @spirit run equine rescue centre in Tyler Texas and is petrified of people and anything asked of him . During a little break while helping MR BIG Steve takes a little look to hopefully point Angela in the right direction to help this horse . steve-young-horsemanship.mysh...

Can't believe how much more relaxed his head became, once he understood what you were asking him for.
It was so heartwarming to see him realise you were a good guy when you got him to lower his head especially when you knelt down. Lovely
And I loved that Georgie gave you that welcomed "thank you"
at the end of head lowering.
For sure, this horse respects
YOU. Probably a first with men in past. SMART BABY, WISE SPIRIT.
When Angela went to catch Georgie at the beginning, I learned so much from her reading of the situation. She was brilliant!
A tear jerker to see him relax and lower his head as you knelt with him Steve. Absolutely wonderful to see the change in him in that moment. Thank you Steve.
Yes, a wonderful moment!❤
Learning to read animals is a gift and an art.
💥God has given you an 💥
Amazing
🙏❤️ Gift ❤️🙏
The last picture of you with georgie with his head down with you Steve is a testament to you in what you achieved for him in such a short time, what a difference from the beginning of the video! He looks so relaxed ! Well done Steve, you’re truly a horse whisperer! 😊
I’ve never said it before but the flag you sent me all the way to New Zealand has been a god send. My old mare, 35, years old has always been pushy and she totally respects me with confidence and the flag. Wonderful to stick in my back pocket. At mad feeding times in the field it totally helps keep me safe and the four horses have learnt absolute manners. It’s very calm now. Thank you!
Awesome!!! Thank you for letting us all know how the flag changed things for you!
What a sad situation this horse must have been in for some time. Hopefully now with your tips, Steve, he will eventually realise he is in a better place now and begin to enjoy being with humans again and enjoy a long and happy life. Kudos to you and Tania. Well done. xx
Just in that short amount of time Georgi calmed down quite a bit. I’m really starting to notice how horses are in both eyes… anyway Happy Birthday Tanja!
Your kindness to this horse is so wonderful - you are so generous sharing this with others.
That's how you know it's a passion, you can't help but go where you're needed. That's a gorgeous horse though
Georgie is gorgeous. He looks like my first pony when I was 6.
Georgie is Gorgeous! Wow, what a change in him even after that short session. Just by him lowering his head. It just looks like he wants to be helped. GREAT episode Steve and Tanya.🥰🇨🇦Sharon.
I hope we get an update on George. I nearly spit my tea out when you commented that you learnt from Tanya not to pat but stroke. LOL You are both wonderful🤓
Steve's comment about the horsemanship string brought back a memory! When I had horses as a kid, we used to use the binder twine from the hay bales to catch our horses all the time! And yes, we would jump on and use the twine as a neck rope while riding them back to the hitching post!
Boy did that horse land in the right place!!!
He is lovely, poor scared baby.
Now surrounded and embraced with compassion and kindness.
Thrilling.
Steve, as always, you rock 😊❤️
Happy Birthday Tanya!!!! 😊❤️
I always look forward to seeing Steve work his magic with a horse... especially a troubled or abused horse. He is gifted beyond words and kind hearted too. He has helped so many. Thank you Steve! Thank you and happy birthday Tanya! ❤
I agree and also second the birthday wishes to Tanya.
Such a shame they couldn't have you for the other 1/2 of the horse :-) Hope they bring you back! Great episode.
Georgie is so gorgeous! I hope she she is able to continue the work with him so ha can enjoy a happy and peaceful life.❤
Ive been backing horses past a problem for almost 40 yrs. works great takes the forward away.
Oh, how I loved when he put his head down. He looked almost surprised. His fear for a few seconds gone. And how he turned his head toward you almost questioning if this was real. No fear, for those seconds.
Oh my life … wasn’t I was surprised to get a VLOG from you, given the agreement there was to be NO filming on Tanya’s birthday vacation. Then I realized it was prior footage from the Texas trip.
Well one could see that George was starting to warm up to you in that little bit of time. He wasn’t snorting anywhere near as much as he had been by the end of the VLOG. An excellent example of when a horse who only wants you in the one 👁️. It will be interesting to see how George is coming along, when you go back to visit the rescue.
Hope you’re both having a lovely time on your vacation and that the weather gets better.
Happy trails! 🙌🙏❤️🇨🇦🐎🥕🍎🐴🍏
Steve, you have such compassion and passion for horses. If you can help you will. Always willing to help and advise even when you are there for a different horse. Good job, as our American cousins say, you did well. 🙏❤️🐎
Poor lad. He’s so pretty. What a shame he can’t go home with you and your calm expertise. Definitely worth trying to give this boy some peace.
So beautiful to see. The horses you work with seam so relieved that they have someone who knows what’s going on and start getting the communication going.
I think you won him over, Steve. So sweet when he put his head towards you when you knelt down by him. He knows. Horses are so forgiving and in the moment of now. Please keep us updated on gorgeous George
Magic, just magic. Nice horse George. You'll be a different guy soon with Angela's work and patience.
This breaks my heart in 2 ways. 1) No animal should ever be abused. 2) this makes sooooo homesick. I grew up and lived in NE TX until i was 32. I miss it so much. Oak trees, 4 seasons, hospitality, and friendliness of strangers. I am a fish out of water in the city, but my horses keep me sane.
Happy birthday Tanya. Keep safe guy's.
G’day Steve Tania Teams & Co ;-) Would love to have seen another few days of working with Gorgeous George, exceptional job in just an hour! Have a happy birthday Tania, you deserve all the frothies you can get!
Congratulations on cracking in to the USA market!
With many source blessings with truth clarity love light laughter happiness joy fun play creativity adventures abundance wisdom wealth and may peace be with you all! Victoria Australia 🇦🇺 xox
Happy Birthday Tania🥳 love this interaction with George! Even as nervous as he was, Steve as always, was able to get quick results with acute timing and release. It was great to see George let go of some tension and soften in his look and body when Steve worked on lowering his head. Angela has a great sense and feel. She will move forward in leaps and bounds now with these nuggets of 'GOLD' from Steves practical, well explained teachings! 🤠
❤❤❤❤❤
Angela is a remarkable woman.
What a beautiful animal!! Heartbreaking what humans do to these magnificent creatures. Your work is amazing. I have always been a fan of Stephanie Powers, this rescue center is truly wonderful. The lady running the place, I believe you called her Angela is magnificent with the horses. I would love to visit this center. As always Steve and Tanya a job well done. It is no surprise you are getting calls to come to North America. One day maybe a trip to Ontario Canada. I know you love the US, Canada is beautiful country too!!! 😊
I am pulling for a Steve Young Horsemanship movement in Americar! I grew up in SE Montana raised in a family of horsemen and cowboys so I was drawn to Steve's work. From what I gather he is a prote`ge` of the American masters, however Steve doesn't whisper, he shows very clearly how he talks to the feet. He's a next level horse and human trainer. There are a lot of horses in Americar being handled by people who don't know how. I have a day off so I'm feeling froggy but why not a series of SYH clinics across Americar? Any thoughts? Thanks Steve and Tanya for showing your work. This is a real treasure.
There are plenty of talented horsemen/ women who follow sound principles here in the USA.
@@dawnaustin4556Would you be willing to list them so people can find them either in person or to watch and learn from online?
@@louisegogel7973I like Ryan Rose, he seems to follow the same kind of principles as Steve.
There’s a great couple as well Jordan & Camille, they were asked to rescue & raise three wild foals last year & they have been documenting all they have been teaching them, it’s a great channel. The name escapes me, I’ll find it & add it to my comment.
@@louisegogel7973 Free Spirit Equestrian is my fave, right up there with Steve.
Oh yes, nearly forgot, Happy Birthday to you Tanya! x
Tanya we love you! Your such an important part of these video's! Thank You!
What a beautiful horse, such a shame he has had a bad time in the past. I am sure he will come on great now. Thank you Steve and Tanya. from Anne in North Yorkshire. X
Georgie looks like a Saddlebred in the still of him trotting. He’s beautiful.
I wanted to see him worked to see his gait
Happy birthday Tanya! :) Steve, your work with horses is inspiring. Your knowledge is impressive and your heart is pure gold.
THATS brillent isnt it hes got a REAL chance now , really good seeing that other eye..Thankyou soooo much
for ALL you DO.
Love the peace and calm that come to George when he lowers his head for you. The change is palpable.
Is was so nice to see how much he liked you Steve. ❤ Poor guy was a nervous wreck.
Oh my!! Such a GORGEOUS boy!! ❤️❤️❤️
Just wonderful. God Bless all.
What a difference look George had at the end, even in just a short time with you!
Oh my goodness! How wonderful to see this handsome fella relaxing and in such a short time! You're truly amazing! 😇 🏆
Gosh Steve, that's amazing....thank you so much.
We have a horse very similar to this at our rescue but could not even be caught, I had to do 1 eye 2 eye to catch him the first few times. He was scared of humans but not other things and weak on the right eye. I found he settled down after about 8 short sessions and then could relax, release hind quarters, etc easily once he trusted me. A trick I used to get him to love the halter and walks was to plant a bowl of hay and carrots somewhere on the walk route and then let him eat when we 'found' it. That also adds 10 minutes of relaxation time to together as I waited for him to chow down. After 2 trips finding hay, he grew to love the halter and the walk, he likes food a lot and he's now eager to get the halter on and go find the food bowl. We do the walk before dinner so he is feeling hungry and we work on him staying behind me, back up, turns, etc.
He was actually super obedient to all commands similar to this horse at first but got a bit lazy later once he was less nervous and acting like a normal horse. Then I had to be tiny bit firmer with him for a bit but he was fine with it since he trusts me now. I also did work at head lowering especially early on and he seemed to really need it then the most. The first time he followed me like a puppy was after a head lowering session. Now he loves to come near me and just stand with his head at half mast in sleepy zombie mode on his own. Other peeps at the rescue are also trying to befriend him too but he's much much much slower with them. I think he trusts me because I had power over him and did not abuse it and because I stay relaxed and make him feel safe. The other volunteers are acting super cautious around him because they are afraid to scare him but ironically that makes him trust them less. I learned all this on this channel so Cutter the rescue horse thanx you.
Loved that ❤
Awesome feedback and story!!! Tyvm from a fellow observer.

Happy Birthday to our darling Tanya, the great lady behind the GREAT MAN Steve the Horseman. Love you both, with your dedication to these wonderful creatures called Horses. Thank you for all that you do! God Bless and keep on doing what you do to save horses.

Beautiful footage once again ❤
It's amazing watching you helping horses and humans as well Steve!
This is a wonderful video. It is very touching to watch.
Holding the rope with your back to George and talking away gave him time to think. I really enjoyed all the little exercises you did with him; and surely that experience with you was enough for a good beginning. You've started George in his new life. Thank you for knowing just what to do.♥️
His name should be Sitting Bull. What incredible makings, just beautiful.
40:56 the look he gave you was kind of like: "Oh, that's all you were asking for? Ok, I got it." 😉
Thank you Steve for all the great work you're doing and for sharing it with us and thanks Tanya for your good job on videoing. You teach so much important knowledge to your viewers. I have learned so much from you. Being able to watch your videos is such a blessing. Greetings from the Dominican Republic
There's something extra special when you rehabilitate such a troubled horse. This is a particularly wonderful video for me and I really hope we are able to see some updates. Congratulations for setting him on a new path to eventual happiness x
Hi Steve, Tanya, and "George"! Been quiet here during t he holidays but I'm back watching again. Really enjoyed this video with Pinto/George. Love to all from Roswell, Georgia USA❤
When I was a kid I used to get given to ride, horses who were terrified and aggressive with men and a relaxed darling with girls and women. One woman's boyfriend (who later was charged with domestic violences offences) was disgusted that I could walk up to the abused ex-racehorse and get on him bareback. He saddled the horse and tried to ride him and was immediately thrown into a fence and broke his leg. You are wonderful in getting horses past their justified fear of men.
This was an amazing primer on calming a scared horse ! Sure, it's only a start, but it demonstrates what is possible. As you say, practice can absolutely change a horse.
OMG You both we're in Tyler Thank you for visiting. I don't own a horse but I surely have binged watch every video. Steve you are a gift of grace with horses. I can even see the change in a horse expression & relaxing when you start with lowering the head.
Thank you Steve and Tanya, and Happy Birthday lovely Tanya! Angela is so amenable to your suggestions and insights. It is a healing journey seeing what 😊you've done with George in such a short time. When he lowered his head you could feel you had made a real connection i🙏🙏🙏
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Tanya! 🎂
from TIMES SQUARE, NY! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
It’s so sad there is still people who abuse their horses. But as always you worked wonders. He’s a beautiful boy, lovely markings. 44:58
He’s such a beautiful horse. I really like him♥️I hope Angela can carry on the successful training with him
Blessings Steve, Tanya and family and the lovely ladies who sought your life saving specialist techniques. Awwww George.
❤❤❤❤❤
Always enjoy watching you work your magic with every horse in need of your love, encouragement, and training.❤😊❤
Absolutely, absolutely amazing session. I learned so much, and I am so grateful to Stephen and Tanya for their amazing work and contribution to horses.!
He is beautiful, thanks for helping him.
A horse drops his head its so many things in one gesture, respect, the beginning of trust, thanks, i feel safe etc. That horse has spent a lifetime being on guard, head up alert for danger but unable to run away when danger comes calling up close. Your eyes have learnt to see everything Steve but your heart has never missed a thing!!
Well Steve, for Tanya and georgie it was a real ‘stroke’ of luck when that met you !!!! An honour to observe you in your craft. God Bless you and brave trusting Geoorgie who melted in your warm tender loving care.
Hes a stunner, definately flashy and catches the eye... poor guy had a rough patch.
I discovered your videos in the middle of the night and was hooked in one night. I am not a horse rider nor am I looking to become a horse rider. But I am interested in any human who is doing anything with animals with gentleness and kindness. I watch each episode to the very end. I rewatch them as well to the end. You are amazing and I appreciate you. Thank you
What a beautiful horse. Even with that short session he learned so much. I loved hearing Tanya's sympathetic tuts, and "so sad", when Georgie grunted from fear and nerves. But then Steve goes and makes me laugh, with his signature "tell him how good he is", but don't hit, or slap, just soft... "I think of what Tanya likes..." 😂😂 Happy belated Birthday, Tanya! 🎉
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANYA.. 🎉No rest for the wicked guys. 😊
🎉Happy Birthday 🎉Tanya! I am always amazed by how your way with horses benefits them.
Gorgeous horse.
I've watched quite a few of your videos Steve, but I really enjoyed this one, it really hit home for me. Mainly because I took some Saddles out to "fit" on someone else's horse a few days ago, he was similar to this horse, on alert, abit snorty, high head carriage etc. George is a really smart horse, and he actually surprised me, in a short space of time he was really understanding what's being asked. When horses hold their heads high, they release cortisol in readiness for flight or fight. When they drop their heads, they release endorphins, and they are happy and relaxed. The horse I was trying Saddles on had his head high, so it shortened his back, and made the Saddles sit abit high in front. Learn something new all the time. 😊💙🐴💜🌹
Happy Birthday Tanya,,thanks for the awesome video Steve xxx
That was pretty amazing my friends. Quite a bit of teaching and learning for George. He landed into a soft lap with Angela. Seems to me you both have soft hearts for rescues. They're not an easy commitment. Takes lots of skill and years of experience. Have you ever come across a horse who was unreachable? Hey, you forgot to invite us to dinner. I love checking out your foodie experiences. 😋
Hi Steve there is a youtuber called Imasurvivor sanctuary they have a rescued young horse called Rita. She is sassy and wants to run the show by bossing everything around. just about 8 days ago one of the owners went in to remove her rug and was kicked so hard it broke the ladies jaw and she is having reconstructive surgery today because of it. I think they need a horse specialist to go in and help them
They've had advice from that other horse guy which hasn't worked. If they can get in touch with Steve they would learn so much!
@@equitime77I believe that Rita is a very young Thoroughbred mix. My prayers go out to Jami @Longhorn Lester’s
I hope the surgery goes well.
Rita is a very young filly, full of energy and happiness. Several people there are handling her without any problems. Lester and Jamie have never said which horse it was who kicked Jamie, cuz they are not blaming the horse.
ISS specifically said, by name, they were not interested in contacting Steve. Many people had suggested they at least watch Steve's videos and ISS said they are not interested.
Wonderful, and Happy Birthday Tanya! ❤
Great video, as always! But….i want to see more of this horse. This video was like a good book, can’t put it down….i want to see the ending! lol. Hopefully, Angela will send you updates. Loved seeing the video on Mr. Big a few weeks ago also. Kudos to Angela and her team on the rescue and rehabilitation of these abused horses. She’s filling a much needed hole for them. ❤❤❤
He’s beautiful! Looks half DHH.
Happy Birthday Tanya 🎂 🥳
I learned so much from this video. Like what it looks like when a horse truly disengages his/her hindquarters, and why they won't do it when they're stressed, rigid, or mistrustful. Why it's so important to work both sides of the horse and how they can become dependent on one side and anxious on the other. Also, your words about why a horse that has to bolt, simply has to and there's no getting in the way of that. SO much insight today, Steve and Tanya. This video was pure gold. That horse is absolutely beautiful and I know he'll thrive where he is in the kind hands of Angela and Stephanie. Best video yet, truly.
Happy Birthday, Tanya from PEI nanny. ❤
PEI is a special island! I was there years ago with my first two chi, daren when they were wee little ones.
The horse flies on the beach near the permaculture place were huge and a challenge until I figured out to set my blue umbrella on the beach a little distance away from us… then they all went to the umbrella, not us!
Happy Birthday Tania 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁
And Georgie fits! He is really going to be fine! Worth all the effort to get him to trust!!
If there were a followup video down the road it would be lovely to see the changes in his head and forelegs stance. It looked for all the world like he was happy to be peaceful with you. Beautiful horse and thank you for posting this.
Happy Birthday Tanya!
What a beautiful “pinto” horse!
Wishing good things for this young fellow!!
Such a beautiful horse. I just cannot understand how people can treat animals so cruelly.
My gosh hes absolutely gorgeous!!!
Nice to hear Mr. Big is doing well
So happy you could help Pinto/Georgie. The difference in his overall demeanor is astounding, even with what little you did.
He looks like a Tennessee Walker, and might've been shown, in stacks.
Georgie is gorgeous. Glad you were able to help him ❤
I always get tears in my eyes when you do this
for them. Thanks Steve.
Short but full of the good stuff! Thanks, Steve. Happy Birthday, Tanya. 💐🎶❤️
I do not go near horses, but love your videos Steve and I am recognising when a horse gives to you. Those little movements are amazing.
Such a beautiful horse this "Georgie"! And I wish him total improvement soon!
Happy birthday Tania, thet pink shirt looks lovely on you.😊😊😊😊😊
