They're both right but I'm with Shaq. There will always be elite players obviously but the truly great ones can never be replaced. Many have tried to be like Mike but nobody has come close. Many have and will try to be like Steph Curry but no one will come close. Everybody hyped up LeBron as the next Michael Jordan, but he wasn't. He was the first (and only) LeBron James. The next generation will be great in their own unique way

No matter what you think of Steph… watching him play was something special. I can hardly imagine anyone coming close to the kind of player he was. The way Steph plays is so unique. He’s the player that made me passionate about basketball, I sure am going to miss watching him play….

The way he revolutionized the game with his jumpshooting-heavy game with little to no athleticisms that almost no one's ever seen. The way he pushes the geometry of what it means to dominating the game (it used to be Shaq-like which is now copied by someone like Giannis, but Steph stretches the floor and moves so much that it creates open spaces everywhere that now every team has kinda applies it to their system hence Warriors have no more advantage on that regard these days). It's how he inspires players that they can achieve greatness despite their not-so-gifted physique. It's amongst these things that makes him hard to copy by future great players actually,, the record is just the cherry on top.
