I think that anyone who's been watching anime for a minute know we have to give credits to haikyuu -> to opening -> character developpement and to the story! Shout-out to Marp for the video. Honestly probably the first sport anime you should check !
9:08 we follow the Team of Karasuno High School (karasu is Crow in japanese which is why there are so many Crow references) on their way to be National champions.
3:32 not only beautiful but especially men need it to thrive. since beginning of Time (at least civilisation) we have been in "group" , "gangs" or "Brotherhoods" however you wanna call it and it truly is beautiful and necessary.
Crows are the main team's mascot so it is always shown. Mc having closed eyes at first few OPs is due to him messing up his play due to focusing too much with the ball and not being in sync with his teammates, and is one of his struggles alongside his height.
In the last two openings, the anime changed studios, so there was a drop in animation, nothing compared to Nanatsu for example, but for those who were used to the animation at the other studio, it was uncomfortable for a while. Even so, both seasons were great.
18:50 Kuroko no Basket which is the most popular Basketball anime is more of a lowkey superpower show. There also is Slam Dunk from the 90s which gets a remake(i think) and a few season back there was a basketball anime which was a bit hyped but idk the name i also didnt watch it. EDIT: Ahiru no Sora is the newer one. also there are lots of "good" sports anime in all kinds of sports. there is "Prince of Stride" which is about running i guess or "EyeShield 21" which is about American Football and much more (most Sport anime with female Casts are more lewder so you might wanna stay away from them for now) also one of my personal favourite laughing anime : How heavy are the dumbbells you lift? (its literally about going to the gym and what each exercise does but in a comedic way also a tiny bit lewd)
1. Haikyuu - volleyball: realistic, modern anime. My favorite of all time. Really captures team spirit, love for the sport, passion, success, failure, hard work, life philosophies, character growth and depth on a HUGE cast. We follow Karasuno, and they'll always be #1 in our hearts, but can't help falling in love with the other teams and characters as well. Other sports anime I recommend in order: 2. Slam Dunk - basketball: realistic, older anime. A classic; my favorite as a child in the early 2000s. Maybe nostalgia talking, but I prefer the 2000s style of animation compared to the recent movie with updated style & animation. Main cast has great depth and we get great opponents. Sports-wise this delved really great in basketball as a sport. I just prefer Haikyuu because it delved into the different philosophies of teams & characters, and how those could be applied to any aspect of daily life. Slam Dunk focused more on the main cast's personal growth as individuals and as a team. We also get to meet Slam Dunk antagonists, and they do have depth, but not much on a personal level, more of their personalities on the court. 3. Hajime no Ippo - boxing: realistic older anime, animation holds up to this day. I prefer team sport stories, so this one comes after Haikyuu & Slam Dunk. On an individual story of personal growth, Hajime no Ippo is one of the top. The side characters are amazing in depth & skills, and they could be protagonists of their own stories. It's just my personal preference to like team sports. 4. Kuroko no Basuke - basketball: sports on crack, dragonball moves, modern anime. Great visuals. Very fantastical, so depends on your taste if you like that. I couldn't suspend my disbelief, but enjoyed most of it. 5. Prince of Tennis - tennis: started out realistic, turned into sports on crack, older anime, animation is difficult to appreciate in this era. I'm a hetero female weeb (and a pre-teen when i watched this), so i suspended my disbelief for the sake of eye-candy lol. Extra: 2.5. Days - soccer: realistic, good manga, bad anime. I really love the manga and the protagonist. This protagonist is my true underdog. A lot of sports protagonists have hidden potentials or they are hidden geniuses, but at the start of the series, you can already see that they're showing their talents. The protagonist of Days also has potential, but he really started from ZERO, and you watch him start from zero. He's skinny, has health problems, a crybaby, and has zero confidence. Watching him claw his way to become a player really gave me goosebumps. He's like Deku from MHA, but since this is a realistic sports story, there is no All Might to give the protagonist powers. He reallyyyy had to do it himself. 2.6. Daiya no Ace - baseball: realistic, older anime. I've read the manga and loved it. I prefer to recommend this after Slam Dunk anime, but I never watched the anime of Daiya, so I can't judge this medium.
Watching prince of tennis at the minute , im 100 episodes in and it fire love the old school art hut then again i started anime with dragon ball so older anime dont bother me infact they have their own qualities. I hope he reacts to kuroko though there more hype scenes and more hype games , the elisodes are worth more for reaction than haikyuu but id love haikyuu to happen aswell its amazing

@@KarNeoLeX Huh? when did Dr. Stone use fly high as an opening? all i know is that the first op is made by the same band (Burnout Syndroms). Dr. Stone op list: -Good Morning World! - BURNOUT SYNDROMES (Season 1 OP) -Sangenshoku - PELICAN FANCLUB (Season 1 2nd OP) -Rakuen - Fujifabric (Season 2 Stone Wars OP) -Wasuregataki - Huwie Ishizaki (Season 3 New World OP)
There's tons of sports anime! The two most popular ones for basketball are Slam Dunk and Kuroko no Basket. For boxing there's Hajime no Ippo and another one that I forgot the name but it has Ashi in it. There's also Run with the Wind for idk what the sport is called in English but the title is pretty self explanatory, and Tsurune for Kyudo (traditional Japanese archery), there is one for gymnastics and I really liked it but I can't remember the name. There's Yuri on Ice for ice skating and Free! for swimming (I haven't watched that one though).
Ashita no Joe very old 60s 70s anime manga but it is more about an anime with a MC who is a boxer rather than an anime about boxing itself! it focuses more on the general aspects of life, the struggles, the MC growth, the rebellious spirit of youth and deadmen
Bit biased (especially my name and PFP is literally the guy you called Lebron James here) but this one is like one of the best sports Anime out there. And they didn't made the plays too unrealistic. Great anime if you want to learn more about volleyball because they explain the basics, the rules, positions, even the moves used. Great storyline too.
Thanks god you stopped stopping the openings so often. Hope for the the breakthrough, when you'll be able to enjoy the whole opening without stopping at all. 😅 And Haikyuu is peak, of course. Nice job.
I dont understand how he has the ability to bang his head off tempo lol. Glad you enjoyed the openings. Hope you someday watch the anime, although by wathcing these you kinda spoiled yourself a bit.
Inazuma eleven better but this is good aswell i watched it until opening 6 where i dropped it for some unknown reason (forgot which season that is 😂) somoene tell me if i should contnue and give a reason 🤔
U should, btw on February 16th there be a first of two movies premiere in Japan and these two movies will be the conclusion of the entire series. Well in my opinion Haiku is better, well I just don't like football, the only one anime about football I like is Capitan Tsubasa cuz' I was watching it when I was young :3
@@ToraDexford inazuma eleven ain't rlly more about superpowers compared to football but alr.. I mean football is just a means to excuse kids fighting other kids for the future of the world with cool moves

Haikyu is the first sports anime i have watched….there is not a single character i hate so this anime is very close to my heart

Ive never heard a more appropriate comparison for ushijima than lebron james😂😂 dude is literally what lbj was in highschool. A physical giftee monster
The orange haired guy is the main charcher and the setter is also like a main charcher
