I love how her dad was like “are u goin out like tha??” In the girly lolita outfit but with the gothic ish look he was so supportive I feel like he’s had a bit of punk in him as a teen
On the goth look- you mixed too many shades and styles of black, which make the outfit cluttered. Each element could stand on its own as a statement. Here's how I'd style each element of the goth outfit to highlight that particular part of the outfit: Shoes: fitted plain black pants with a plain black shirt and a long billowy hood. Veil: long black dress with elements of lace. Leggings: plain black tee with black docs. Gloves: because they're so shiny, probably would pair with tripp skinny vinyl pants or a matte black dress with some sort of vinyl belt or a furry shawl Top: Deep black circle skirt
Guys, I don't think you realize how expensive it would be for her to do an over the top authentic version of some of these. She's having fun, and learning about other sub cultures. Lay off a little
This is probably going to sound like a weird comment but Thank you for actually trying with the gothic look and not making a joke out of it. I see so many people "trying out goth" and they make their outfit really costume/Halloween store-ish and then they smear black all over their face and pretend to be all "depressed and gloomy" when in actual fact goths are just darkly inclined, friendly people, we're not evil or "gloomy" and I can't thank you enough for not making a joke out of my subculture like so many others. ❤️
Goth isn't the easiest look to get right. It often does look halloween. Unfortunatley, her outfit fell flat. The leggings and New Rocks looked good but everything waist up wasn't. @@ananyarajesh7784 yeah, it almost seemed a bit costume-ish? A pettiskirt is just a very puffy skirt that goes to about the knees while a petticoat is floor length (if thinking in Renaissance to Victorian clothing). Most people who have shorter Lolita dresses will wear a pettiskirt under the dress, while those with longer to floor length dresses will wear a petticoat.

I've never seen your videos before so I'm not sure what they usually are but I think it would've really brought it a step up if you explored the styles and trends of each look rather than just going off of what you know from what you've seen in popular culture or in media. Lauren W I think it’s more what she interpreted as each style, the “titles” might not be the most “correct” but everyone has their own version of different styles
I studied subcultures and honestly think she did the Goth look really well. It's got a bit of traditional 80s goth style with the veil and makeup with a bit of modern goth with the boots and leggings

Complete with a cool beanie not a hat, or go beanie less and keep make up light/real grunge or none. And a cool worn out back pack with some pins or something! Idk haha that's just how I dress though idk
Hey also a skater girl!!! But what I usually wear is a grey Aeropostale sweater which I cut the sleeves off, with tan jeans, black vans, and a snapback hat. I disagree. The correct term for neons are fluorescents and actually I think they look pretty great as Lolita accessories. Psychedelic Tembo I think it depends a lot on the type of Lolita. But to be honest, I think neon or fluorescent colors don't really go well with Lolita. Maybe sweet lolita, but not so much. They would go better with other Harajuku street fashions such as decora. That's my opinion though.

Costumey or just super "Nu-Goth"? Because that's kind of how it read to me. Like an Instagram version of Goth....which isn't bad per se. It just doesn't feel terribly authentic. And I'm old. Oh well.
In general I like the looks and I think you did a good job but I'd recommend for future videos like this: do your research. Look up what the style really looks like on Instagram, blogs and UA-cam videos, check out make up and hair tutorials and don't just rely on a quick Google image search and stereotypes. For most of the things it didn't really seem like you knew what the style required and just got what you thought might be right. Yes yes, I know it's fashion and people can do whatever the f they want but if you're trying to "copy" a style, do if properly. Other than that, fun video and definitely a great video idea!
the goth look is great! i watch these videos usually just to see their edgy alt outfits cause thats my area of expertise. i think the makeup is especially awesome and i love the addition of the contacts, it definitely makes it more authentic and takes it a step further than just wearing black
I feel like this video was done out of pure curiosity and she didn't really take the time to research what these clothing styles are actually like. I feel like none of the outfits she wore quite fit the style she was getting at 🤷🤷
I know! I was really offended when she tried the "lolita" outfit. It's not really lolita. As much as it is similar, the *main* lolita style uses more puffy... Cute and not "OMG UNICORNS ASDFGHJKL AND ALL THINGS GIRLY" out there. It's more subtle yet feminine and adorable.
I really appreciated this video and trying new styles (you looked great in all of them btw), but as constructive criticism, I think you need to do way more research with these kinds of videos. The "hippie" outfit was very on trend to the present and not exactly authentically 70's at all. Also, my sister is a lolita, and there was a lot of stuff that are very important to the outfit that were missing. The biggest thing being the petticoat! If there is no petticoat, it's not even considered lolita. Again, the concept of the video was so cool, but it kind of sucked to see different styles executed incorrectly because other people will believe that that is what it actually looks like when it's not correct. Research is key!!
the goth outfit was also soooo wrong :') But you know, she's having fun, and I know it wasn't her intention to try to offend anyone so yeah. But indeed! A little bit more research, and this video would've been gold
I feel like your first outfit actually looked really modern - I think it was the top that looked super SoCal trendy and didn't really have a vintage vibe, but those trousers are really cute! ~vDid you check your Lolita dress for a zipper? Most of them have hidden side zippers....although I feel it looks a little more Otome-Kei than Lolita just because you don't have a petticoat (Lolita requires maximum POOF!) and a lot more Victorian-esque styling. ~ Your girly outfit looks like someone Ariana Grande might wear and also makes me thing of the film Clueless, so kudos there! ~ That skater look is also very Californian, but I'm sure how representative it of skater culture around the world - looks fairly fitness chic and I'd totally wear it! (The way you say Adidas was hilarious! :D ) ~ OKAY! The goth look - it's very Nu-Goth - which isn't bad at all, it's actually a very modern goth look and I feel like pretty much anyone can pull that off. Definitely Instagram worthy!
Not exactly lolita--what you did is more of a general Japanese "Harajuku" or "kawaii" fashion. Lolita has a more specific silhouette and typically legwear to be more "modest".
I loved this! Such a fun creative idea. I think it's important to get out of your comfort zone every now and then. I admire your courage to put yourself out there knowing how judgey ppl can be, so thanks!
However the Wedesday outfit is not as unique. I see that everywhere in America. The rest is more interesting mostly because I see less of it in America. More unique, better. The sporty style is common too, tho I like it.
She did say she was testing the styles out so for a first try; for finding lolita clothing that wasn’t expensive as all hell, it was pretty okay. I’m sure if she had another go with more time and money, she could probably do something better. She did her research on the styles tho, so that’s a bonus.
the videos and the outfits would've been better if you had done research on each style. *i* feel like the outfits were put together blindly, like they all kinda skimmed the surface????
I think if you are doing a video like this, even if it is just for fun, you should do more research. The Gothic and Lolita styles were clearly not researched. The reason I think this is an issue is because the Lolita and Gothic communities are often misrepresented which is often very dangerous. Some already link Lolita styles to kinks, and many Lolitas often get approached negatively and cat called when wearing the fashion in public - not to mention the amount of negative videos about Lolita already on Facebook and youtube. This is similar for Goths who often experience negativity while wearing the fashion; many people will remember the Sophie Lancaster case. I just think educating people would be helpful as at points this video looked to be making fun of subcultures simply through the expressions used and the way it was shot. I don't have anything against it, I just hope in future others will think more about videos like this and try to investigate more.
Don't get me wrong I love that you're trying out new styles and you looked amazing each day. The only thing I will say is that you need to put in more research. I can't say much about the other styles as they aren't mine but with the skater girl outfit here is a few tips: wear skinny jeans or combats not the leggings, though the hat was cool i would go with a beanie instead, the top was alright but maybe go with something a size up or more baggy? As for the flannel and shoes they were pretty spot on but please please don't get mixed up between vans and converse I almost died! No hate I just wanted to give you some tips for skater clothing thought.
Although, vans are skater shoes, they’re like the og skater shoe, I prefer converse because I just like them. I have a lot of different styles, since I think I do I have a few personalities, but I think my main style is skater girl, 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ it’s kinda funny to see people’s stereotypical skater outfit interpretations 😂😂
Please redo the this video with better interpretations of the styles, it would be really cool and more accurate. *this is not a hate comment* Also, wear them out into public more! I really enjoyed you talking about people’s reactions and you didn’t do that much with the goth outfit.
Selina Huntington redoing a video requires so much time and effort and to do it over would be frustrating since your redoing a video that took 5 days in total
Your 'Lolita coord' didn't really match, if you want some advise. Like... the pink shade of the earrings don't match anything and so doesn't the blue of the beret. Not to metion the lack of a petticoat.
Omg so many negative comments on the lolita section! She did a really good job for her first coord for someone with little knowledge on the style Nobodies first coord is perfect
Hey Millie! My name is Jen and this is my first video I have seen of you and let me just say you ROCKED all of those looks! You seem cool so I subscribed! Can't wait to see more of your videos!!! :)
Love this challenge! The hippie outfit didn't seem to fit actual hippie style & glasses looked more retro than hippie, but I did like the combo! Great pieces individually ❤
Awww made me sad you didn’t have the courage to go many places all dressed up. And £100,000 bet you would have NOT got “beat up” dressed like a goth. I used to be super gothy. Almost your exact style and my friends were crazy in to hip hop. We’d go to so many gangster style places and people were more fascinated than anything.
I’m going to be perfectly honest with the goth look.. 1- take of the legging and just put on some black ripped jeans or if you want to be like the girly goth ig wear like black lace 2- take off the gloves and replace them with gloves that come down the the wrist or that cut of mud hand.. Once it looks like u we’re going for like the “cutesy goth” (idk what it’s called) I would of won that top with like a teal or lace tutu with short non shiny gloves lace or something like that tights BUT THIS IS JUST MY OPINION DONT COME FOR ME LOL
Okay so the boots are kinda steampunk instead of goth and the clothing was awesome but the veil and the gloves with the make up had me dead xD I loved the skater look on you!!

Maybe she could try an inspired video and ask her subs for people she should use to inspiration. It looked like she had fun though.
Have you seen Kamikaze girls? In the early stages of lolita, there wasn't always a petticoat. It's a cool movie, too.
the goth outfit was also soooo wrong :') But you know, she's having fun, and I know it wasn't her intention to try to offend anyone so yeah. But indeed! A little bit more research, and this video would've been gold
Too much to read
Michaela I think that’s the actual way to pronounce adidas! :)
There is a zipper on the side. I bought the exact same dress she got and found that there was a zipper.
The Goth look is definitely my favorite. Those black contacts were so cool. That and the pink look were my two favorites.
Me having an identity crises
Did anyone else get a black screen for a few seconds at 5:56 ?
If you would take 2 seconds and read the comments then you would see loads of comments about it so obviously. Why not look first?
Hannah Templeton yh
Yeah
Yeh
Hannah Templeton yeah
Not exactly lolita--what you did is more of a general Japanese "Harajuku" or "kawaii" fashion. Lolita has a more specific silhouette and typically legwear to be more "modest".
I loved this! Such a fun creative idea. I think it's important to get out of your comfort zone every now and then. I admire your courage to put yourself out there knowing how judgey ppl can be, so thanks!
Your video ideas are so creative!!! they are all so interesting to watch!!!💕
Thank you so much 😭❤️
Agreed
I agree completely! What an awesome idea for a video!
@@millymooboo1 I would actually do it. I like a variety of styles.
However the Wedesday outfit is not as unique. I see that everywhere in America. The rest is more interesting mostly because I see less of it in America. More unique, better. The sporty style is common too, tho I like it.
“do you like it”
“No”
“you look American”

a e s t h e t i c b a b y same 😂 and the way she Says Adidas (ah-di-das)😂😂
@@haileymarie8351 she said it right... its german brand and somamericans say it wrong

@@haileymarie8351 everyone says it diffrent lol try to google it
Relatable
That’s cute but thats not lolita....
Alyss Raven it was a 8/10....
She did say she was testing the styles out so for a first try; for finding lolita clothing that wasn’t expensive as all hell, it was pretty okay. I’m sure if she had another go with more time and money, she could probably do something better. She did her research on the styles tho, so that’s a bonus.
@@teddie5403 it was a 3/10 tbh... Like she had the dress das it lmao
It looked more like fairy kei than lolita
it was probably the closest she could get without spending $200 on a dress for a video ..
I feel like neither the goth nor the lolita matched the style but they were still both REALLY cute and wouldn't have taken much to fix
Let’s just appreciate how pretty Millie looks without makeup
this is acc so good ur contents my fav ngl
Suddenly my hearts warm
ahh im glad:) you should do a video where ben and spencer or just the social climbers in general choose your outfits for a week
I actually really love your makeup for the gothic look!😍
Blondie Brand no. Just no.
ur that fake friend that always encourages the worst looks fr
i love to see you more in kawaii style :D the look you get from your public tests are great
i looooove how much effort you put in recently!!❤️
the videos and the outfits would've been better if you had done research on each style.
You worded that brilliantly, thank you.
Preach
I don't think is that deep, tho
@@Ab1g4il still..
Abby Chiazzaro for someone in the Lolita Community, yes it is
I love how supportive your parents are! Theyre so cute :)
YES! Thank you!

I guess giant pants that are far from skinny and Dickies is a 90s thing aye 😂 that was what I wore back then lol
Also a t-shirt over a long sleeved shirt ! I feel old now. 😂
Millie - “Hello”
Uncle Christopher “No” 😂😂😂😂
Unknown My Dudes Lol mood!
Old skool converse? What 😂
I like how supportive your parents are. That’s amazing!!!
Please redo the this video with better interpretations of the styles, it would be really cool and more accurate.
*this is not a hate comment*
Also, wear them out into public more! I really enjoyed you talking about people’s reactions and you didn’t do that much with the goth outfit.
Selina Huntington redoing a video requires so much time and effort and to do it over would be frustrating since your redoing a video that took 5 days in total
U can’t say something hateful and then said “ this is not a hate comment “
Rhiannon Gibson | they didn’t say anything hateful though
I was NOT expecting that random nappy confession to your mother...but I loved it! Made me laugh. Love how you just slipped that in there 😂😂
Americans what is (Ah-de-das) top. Oh she means (uh-dee-duhs)
@@alysha6053 why is that a reply to my comment? My comment is about her wearing a nappy not Adidas.
Your 'Lolita coord' didn't really match, if you want some advise. Like... the pink shade of the earrings don't match anything and so doesn't the blue of the beret. Not to metion the lack of a petticoat.
Omg so many negative comments on the lolita section! She did a really good job for her first coord for someone with little knowledge on the style
Nobodies first coord is perfect

Killing me
Omg she actually looks like a doll wearing the goth outfit. I stan
Those hippie trousers are amazinggggggggg ❤️ I need those
And the whole goth outfit 😍
I have them but I call them "genie pants " because mine are baggier
Love this challenge! The hippie outfit didn't seem to fit actual hippie style & glasses looked more retro than hippie, but I did like the combo! Great pieces individually ❤
your videos are getting even better!!!
Who else's thought that the video cut out or your phone died at 5:59
X X ME
I thought it was just me
Literally thought it was my WiFi
same lol
I literally thought the illuminati took over my phone it freaked me out.
OK MILLIE. Why do you still look good in every single style hahahaha (i defo wouldnt)
Because she didn't even do the lolita fashion right I am a full time lolita that wasnt lolita that was a ita
The gothic makeup is EVERYTHING!!
(I know a couple of goths that actually store a pair of slides in their cars to drive!)
She wasn't dressed goth she was dressed like a hooker
you actually really suited that skater outfit😍 loveeee this video!

“This is so scary to look at, I look like a girl”
That’s a solid mood😂
Lol the black veil looks better with a gothic dress
I’m going to be perfectly honest with the goth look..
1- take of the legging and just put on some black ripped jeans or if you want to be like the girly goth ig wear like black lace
2- take off the gloves and replace them with gloves that come down the the wrist or that cut of mud hand..
Once it looks like u we’re going for like the “cutesy goth” (idk what it’s called) I would of won that top with like a teal or lace tutu with short non shiny gloves lace or something like that tights
BUT THIS IS JUST MY OPINION DONT COME FOR ME LOL

I honestly love the Skater Girl look and the Gothic look they were my favourite, I especially loved the Gothic makeup it was so good.
