I'm a native new Yorker and have lived in NYC my entire life. First and foremost you're not alone, considering there is a guy there. You're not living you're visiting and staying at a hotel. If you were to "live" an average basic apt. is 3k. So, 3k deposit, 3k first month, 3k brokers fee, that's 9k off the bat. A standard bottle of Ace of Spades is anywhere between $400-$1000 I saw 3, I'm sure that's not added to your "alone" calculations lol and anyone who "lives" in nyc doesn't spend like that, constantly. These purchases are clearly made to generate views and likes. So please don't spread misinformation because you clearly have no idea what its like to live in nyc.
I visited NYC and DC in May for a week and I didn't spend more than about $700 - it can definitely be affordable
When we go to other countries we have to adapt of the rules, here in USA $60 tip of a $600 check is an insult. That’s 10%
@@mrmoonlight1001 if you had work in the restaurant industry, you know that everyday is not like that. There’s some days that you make money others nothing, additionally, restaurants are seasoning. Meaning 1 month you can make 6k others you lucky if you break 1k.
Blame the government not people who don’t want to tip loads of money 😂
@@alicia-maria2504 how’s the government fault or the peoples fault? And to make sure that’s why some places do auto gratuity.
@@mrmoonlight1001 because they earn below minimum wage and live off of tips. is it fair? no. but it's how things are done here, so if someone's going to visit they need to be aware of this and adapt to it or else it's just ignorance and disrespect
@@mrmoonlight1001 The server wont see a good portion of that $60. First you have to put 20% of the tip aside for tax, then you take between 5-20% of the BILL, not the tip, for tipping out the other staff (bar team, cook team, support staff) some places require tip out to management. so realistically, the server is taking home maybe $20 for that one table, for probably 2 hours minimum of work.
Just a heads up from an American: It's considered rude to tip under 15%. General rule is if the waiter was good/nice you tip 20%. I would say 20% is the most common amount anything more is for really good service and anything less (but still over 15%) is for worse service
But if there’s a service charge already on top, why should we tip even more?
whyyyy 😩
@@abbierobbins4800 That’s not the point. Even if there is a surcharge bc of COVID, usually it’s 3-4%. The point is to respect the tipping culture of the country you’re visiting in bc wait staff do not make that much in America, they rely on tips to make a living- and also they can obviously afford it.
@@abbierobbins4800 Because when you visit other places you should respect the culture that is there? especially when it directly impacts the income of the locals you’re around. Getting 10% would make them think they did a terrible job serving. It’s high enough that it doesn’t seem like you’re the type to just not tip, but low enough that it’s insulting. service charges don’t go to the servers in a lot of cases.
eta: where I live in the US, servers only make $2.13/hr, the rest is all from tips.
Seriously, a 10% is “server pooped in your food” territory.
I can't believe you tipped that poorly yet seemed so proud about it.
I saw that too 🤦♂️
60$ is a lot. Here in the UK, it is really rare to tip, never mind 60 dollars
@@lukesavage3067 but they are NOT in the UK....
phew as a NYer, there's no way any NYer can say that's NOT NYC average. that's million dollars a year lifestyle. If you got it like that kudos to you darling. I couldn't spend that much going to Cali. Even as a wealthy person.
In my humble opinion, I feel like you can manifest way more money when you’re grateful for every single separate bill and that you can afford it, gratitude brings more abundance 💫
I felt bad for every server and restaurant you went to and tipped horrendously.
Imagine being a waitress and getting her table and being all excited only to get a dog shit tip😅 while she’s pissing away money on overpriced water bottles
If your there for a week just have fun go crazy and enjoy yourself I wish I was there but me and my hair doesn’t cope well in the heat I end up looking like a fluff ball just have an amazing time 😆😆😊😊
You can spend $515 on makeup but can’t even tip 10%..makes sense
“Living alone in nyc” this is tourism not “living” or “alone”
would love to see a haul of what you bought in sephora!! would you ever do a makeup tutorial? you are so stunning!!🤍🤍xx
WAIT, i just listened to your song "White wine" and HOLY SH!T it's so good!! I did not expect that OMG
Listen Mills just go crazy 😝 your young, we only live once ! That’s what I’d be doing anyway!
Looks stunning though, I havnt been to NYC yet but I’m definitely gonna try it real soon!
Love ❤️ Tia xxx
Insulted the hell out of your server at that steakhouse with that tenner tip lmfao.
Love the covid 19 exposure alert then he’s coughing bad 😂😂 btw you slaying !!!!
This looked so fun! Is that a new song you’re teasing there?????? Love you!
Also side note in America you want to tip 20% minimum 😘
In America that $60 tip on a $600 bill is extremely low. You should definitely have tipped 20% or more depending on service.
We left a cash tip as well our friends just paid with card!
@@millymooboo1 That's great! ☺️
What's the big deal with tipping culture, I don't get it
@@nousername105 Americans are paid super low hourly rates so survive off their tips
@@nousername105 in America some waiters/waitresses only get mad $2 an hour, tips make their wage
Perfect timing literally planning my first nyc trip!!
i love watching you Millie, but that 10% tip at the steakhouse made me cringe a bit after all you spent through the video (and to say it was a “generous” or “big tip”).. i hope you had poor service if that’s all you’re leaving for your wait staff. they only make about $2-$3 in hourly wages, which is much under the minimum, (at least in the few states i’ve worked in) so they depend on those tips for their service and it’s unfortunate :/ glad to see you having fun though!! all love
That was just the tip that me and Ben left- our friends paid in cash
@@millymooboo1 So you you're saying your friends tipped appropriately but you didn't? SMH.
@@millymooboo1 what about all your other meals?
@@millymooboo1 but all your other meals were tipped under 10%? Doesn’t add up. I understand there is a cultural difference but it’s your responsibility to educate yourself. Esp when it’s so widely known!
I’ve served as a waiter for 2 years and I could
honestly care less about whether getting tipped or not. sheesh -.-
Your a lucky girl millie. You work for this! Go girl have a shit ton of fun.. you only live this life once. Go hard
Yeah but don’t tip the workers
How much was the third hotel? Maybe I’m blind but I don’t think it said.
I came to say this omg. She forgot to put the price up on the third hotel
60 on 660 is horrible tip actually. You should have at least tipped 95 that's 15% and honestly your lucky they didn't just charge you gratuity because then it would have been 20% which Is what you really should tip if you have good service.
Our friends paid with cash that was just for me and Ben paying with card. Our tip was actually a lot
@@millymooboo1 but what about the other restaurants? You consistently tipped 10% throughout the whole video.
The sad thing is I used to think you were real but your obviously not a good person. I'm unsubscribing from this channel.
And even worse her thumbnail is of her holding a bunch of cash. Lol
@@millymooboo1 Don't believe you. You didn't suddenly start tipping more.
Your money you earn it spend it how you want , if you’ve got it flaunt it babes
I just found you video on Graham Stephan. Your tipping is embarrassing. 10% tipping in America is awful. You should learn these things before you go to another country to know what is acceptable and what isn't.
miss the videos with you and jamie deffnitly need to do prank on jamie so cute to see you found the one hope both doing ok
I think they broke up💕
So when u travel to a new country you don’t think of doing ur research on basic things like tipping culture?
I NEED SOMETHING TO WATCH WITH MY DINNER IT IS TAKING SO LONG
This video popped up and living in New York, I decided to watch. It definitely feels a bit clickbaity to me since she is traveling with someone and not actually living. The title should say vacationing. Age and maturity definitely come out. Also a good burger is not determined by how you want it cooked. All restaurants ask and you can still get crap and/or wrongly cooked food.
Loved watching this 👏🏻 also, it actually is ‘Nikey’. I just started a new job and they partner with Nike and I get in so much trouble for saying it wrong 😂😂
Omg you were with Mai yayyyyy 😭 You guys are two of my favourite youtubers
its not that surprising with the first hotel tooo... you are good my girl xxx
To be fair, that's not that bad. Thought it would of been more.a week in different hotels, eating out,an iPhone, an all the makeup. Jacket. Just wish I could do it. Lol
for a regular person, that's crazy high priced. That's not NYC tourist normal AT ALL.
You can just get a coffee a Starbucks. That’s like $5 and there is Starbucks everywhere. Since when do you live in NYC? How did you even enter? Are you vaccinated now?
She’s just on holiday lol clickbait title
“are you vaccinated?” 🤓🤓
Give the poor women a break Jesus 😂
@@jodien5378 Well to get into America (as a non-US citizen) you need to be vaccinated, or a Diplomat…
@@kirstystevenson1450 well if she was in new york she’s obviously vaccinated 😀🤓

@@amytaylor6567 thank you doll I’m gonna do a bit of Christmas shopping so it may be more but thanks for the advice xx
Me and my man are going in November and we are both going to save up as much as we can 😅
I took my mum for 5 nights at the Easter weekend and spent £3000 including absolutely everything from flights to hotel to all day trips and shows to food etc. you 100% can do it for that. We stayed in times square too and didn't scrimp on anything
Wow, this fan token is a must have. I mean earning for just watching and so taking a small part in the future developement of your channel is so awesome. This will be great!! Definetly gonna do this.
Your tips are insulting to the staff I understand you are not from the USA and probably don't understand tipping culture but I sincerely hope you never return to any of the places you are tipping at. Your tips will cause you to be remembered and not in a good way. Please understand restaurant staff should be tipped between 15 and 20 percent starting. It is also customary to tip other people as well such as sometimes taxi drivers, hair stylist, bell boys etc.
Great vlog this, and it's interesting you got an iPhone 13, I've never had an iPhone, iPods yes. My current phone is called Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus

this video is just a pure flex
Is anyone here because of Graham
Ngl i really miss Millie's old content where it was normal people doing normal things with their friends. The whole youtuber/insta vlogger "look how rich I am" content feels so out of touch with reality. Plus promoting crypto scams to your audience is just so not cool :/
I’m just evolving I guess? People expect UA-camrs they watch to stay the same forever but we are also growing and changing- like you are.
Also I’m not promoting crypto scams you just need to do your research. I really believe in the XCAD project it’s stayed strong even throughout a bear market. You’ll be able to invest in your favourite UA-camrs and if their channel grows, your investment grows. The biggest UA-camrs are also involved in the project- there’s a lot of exciting things to come with it.
You can’t expect someone to do their old content forever. Millie is making her money and living her life now and moving up in her career, it’s such an awful thing to make someone feel bad because they aren’t sat in their bedroom trying to make something for themselves and they are now reaching their goals. There’s plenty of new UA-camrs with Millie’s old type of content if you aren’t wanting to support someone doing well!
@@millymooboo1 you can grow and evolve, but promoting overconsumerism isn't that entertaining. It might get the clicks cuz it's *shiny* and naive kids fall for it, but working adults are just like "why?".
I like any video if Millie is in it.
Crypto isnt a scam if you know what you are doing. Just like stocks. Do plenty of research and talk to people who actually know what they are talking about:)
You are truly amazing person Millie. Take care of yourself.
you're not even alone. nice clickbait
Have fun and stay safe!♥️♥️
“You should get that checked out” maybe not in America, with our expensive health care system 😂
Sad actually I have to fly out the country for healthcare and it's still much cheaper
New York in general is expensive but with the extremely inflation in the us its even more.
no she just lived the millionaire lifestyle. What she did was abnormal for NY standards.
is millie still with jamie? x
i think he bought the teddy
Video idea : I spent 1 week in the world's most expensive city
Geneva, Switzerland 🇨🇭 I moved here 3 years ago and babeeeee, please just come here so you can see how crazy expensive it is. G&T at the bar is £40, with a double being £80
Millie pls come here! 😍💋
you did not spend 1000 a night to stay in Brooklyn! wtf
thats what i was saying!!! this trip did NOT need to be that much and still could have been so nice.
Life is for living Millie. Embrace it and enjoy it. Your only young once. ❤
every time i hear yolo, i just cringe. it sounds good, but there is zero context behind it. people use it who wanna justify unwanted spending with a bs sentence. you can yolo or you can retire at 42... thats a better statement
@@nagyee15 well dude you could be hit with a bus tomorrow so embrace life. Its short
Omg when you did an American accent talking about the guy, you sounded like Emma chamberlain 😂
Learn the tipping culture before coming

Loved this video! Glad you’re living your best life as you should. Just out of curiosity how did u get let in to America without being vaccinated, I’m guessing because it was for work? No hate just wondering. ❤️
I wonder too !🥺
There are very few exceptions, so she either has some sort of US or immigration based status or got vaxxed or lied/got a fake record. Work, especially that sort of work wouldn't qualify for an exception.

She read your comment, liked it but didn’t comment on it. Maybe don’t buy that coin Ben;D
Is Jamie okay with staying with other boys
It’s kind of crazy you can spend that much money and not even have to stress, yet you tip your servers terribly. That is how those people make a living and you are affecting them with your ignorance. I really hope it’s just a cultural misunderstanding.
Maddie Ziegler has stayed in that room
you tipped less than half on that steak dinner....
Still a big tip for them to just do their job, any tip is still a tip 👍🏻
@@Jademerrill 15% or under is an insult and screwing over the server.
@@michael_harren I really don’t see how, they get paid, the tips are just extra
@@Jademerrill hourly servers get an extremely low hourly wage, and they are taxed based on their sales because of the anticipated tips. So if someone stiffs a server they are left with their measly hourly Pat ( which can be as low as $2 per hour) but they are taxed as if they were tipped properly. It’s a weird system but that’s how it works.
